The Batman is getting another HBO spinoff series at some point, but James Gunn has now confirmed that Barry Keoghan's Joker will not be the iconic villain to headline it. While answering a fan's question on Threads, Gunn denies the latest rumor that after The Penguin, the next character from Matt Reeves' film to get their own show would be the Joker. Although it was believable due to the success of the Colin Farrell-led drama, Gunn confirms that No there is absolutely no truth to this. A Joker series is not being discussed nor has even come up at this time. Sorry.
It seems fans will have to wait until The Batman: Part II to see the Clown Prince of Crime again on the big screen.

The next The Batman spinoff may follow another iconic villain that made a brief appearance in the Matt Reeves-directed film. After the smash-hit success of The Penguin, it seems HBO is keen on expanding the gritty superhero universe with a new take on a very familiar character and archnemesis to the Dark Knight. According to a new rumor, Barry Keoghan's Joker from The Batman is getting his own HBO spinoff series.
The Marvelvision podcast (via World of Reel) reports that a new The Batman spinoff series will follow Joker, the scar-ridden Arkham inmate played by Keoghan who made a brief appearance in the film. Apparently, it would take place after The Batman: Part II, leading to him being the main villain in the third film in Reeves' trilogy. Although an Arkham TV spinoff has been in the works for quite some time, it's unclear if the rumored Joker...

Sawyer and Raye Levine Spielberg are set to star in the indie dark comedy thriller, Pink Flags, written and directed by Misha Calvert.
The real-life married couple will play opposite each other as a feisty figure skater named Liberty (Raye), who turns the tables on an inept stalker (Sawyer) while preparing for a high-stakes competition. Production started this month in New York City.
The short film calls upon the female gaze to help audiences connect to the emotional and psychological experience of stalking and assault, while using dark humor and a captivating aesthetic in the style of classic 1970s paranoia cinema.
“I think it’s so interesting how [Pink Flags] plays with the line between spectator and voyeur,” Levine Spielberg said about the themes of the script. “The main character, this fiercely-independent free bird, finds it more comforting to gaslight herself than pronounce herself a victim.”

From the outset, the CW’s Batwoman series was one of the better offerings, thanks to a strong visual sensibility and a winning performance from Rachel Skarsten as the damaged Alice. And like every other Arrowverse show, it threatened to suffer from character bloat by the end of its second season. Thankfully, supernumerary characters and plot points were jettisoned and Javicia Leslie, as Ryan Wilder, made Batwoman her own character after Ruby Rose’s departure.
Season three, therefore, offered a lot of promise and across thirteen episodes we saw the show flirt with good, solid storytelling, too often succumbing to mind-numbing plot holes and illogic. It suffered from being hampered by the idiotic notion that Circe could waltz into the Batcave and make off with Batman’s greatest rogue weapons, all neatly fitting into a duffel bag.

“Batwoman” began airing on The CW in 2019, albeit with a different lead actress. Ruby Rose originally starred in the series, but exited after the first season. She later claimed that unsafe working conditions led to her exit, as well as issues with co-star Dougray Scott.
Javicia Leslie was then brought in as a new character to take over the mantle of Batwoman. The show also starred Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, Camrus Johnson, Victoria Cartagena, Robin Givens, and Nick Creegan.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Batwoman Season 3 Finale, “We Having Fun Yet?”.] While the Dark Knight may be rising back in the box office this week, it was Batwoman who saved the day in March 2’s fantastically designed Season 3 finale, “We Having Fun Yet?” The hour brought the slow-burn, Joker-inspired arc to an explosive close as Ryan (Javicia Leslie) battled her own brother Marquis Jet (Nick Creegan) before he could acid-wash the entire city. The CW Before that blimp-set showdown, the Bat Team worked together like never before and we loved it. Sophie (Meagan Tandy) and Mary (Nicole Kang) regained access to the Batcave to snag a certain umbrella that could help their cause, Luke (Camrus Johnson) sacrificed the last link to his father for the greater good and Alice (Rachel Skarsten), of all people, came through with a suitably unhinged plan to slip Ryan the Joker’s joy buzzer in order to zap her...

Tormented by the hallucinations of men she’s maimed and killed, Batwoman villain-turned-antihero Alice (played by Rachel Skarsten) wants nothing more than to be “fixed” via one quick zap from the Joker’s Joy Buzzer.
With Alice’s mental health continuing to deteriorate and Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) also set on using it to cure her brother Marquis (Nick Creegan) of his maniacal Joker persona, the CW drama’s Season 3 finale (airing Wednesday at 9/8c) will find Alice reach her breaking point.

Yes, Nick Creegan is the first Black actor to play the Joker, but his landmark "Batwoman" role means so much more to the DC universe. Creegan spoke to Popsugar about the historic casting, his upcoming movie "Good Egg," and how his cofounded production company Broken Whip Media is on a mission to amplify diverse voices.
Of his casting, Creegan notes that at the time, he was only auditioning to be Marquis Jet - he didn't know the character would transform into the Joker. "I happened to wear a purple shirt [the day I auditioned]. And I just thought about it like, 'You know, everything just kind of aligns for a reason,'" he tells Popsugar. As a bonus, he happens to have a laugh that already suited the role. "My laugh, luckily enough, was strange and crazy. I just used Nick Creegan's laugh. That's what you're hearing."

In our Q&a series Last Call, we get down to the bottom of every last thing with some of our favorite celebs - from the last time they were starstruck to the last song they listened to. This week, Javicia Leslie takes our call.
Gotham's villains never stood a chance against Javicia Leslie's Batwoman. Following Ruby Rose's unexpected departure from the CW series in 2020, Leslie has captivated comic book fans as free-spirited, ass-kicking superhero Ryan Wilder, aka the first Black and first openly queer Batwoman to appear on screen. In front of the camera, Leslie wears a pointed bat mask and flowing cape to fight villains like Poison Ivy and Cluemaster. Backstage, the cape comes off, but Leslie takes her responsibilities as one of the first Black LGBTQ+ superheroes just as seriously.
"Playing [Ryan Wilder] reminds the little girl in me that everything about me is Ok," Leslie tells Popsugar.

Camrus Johnson may have officially suited up as Batwing on “Batwoman” last year, but this week, he’s wearing both his super suit and his director’s cap. And he’s pretty sure he couldn’t have gotten a better episode to start with.
The 11th episode of Season 3, titled “Broken Toys,” sees the return of Marquis Jet (Nick Creegan), back to full health thanks to Poison Ivy’s antics last week — and he’s ready to destroy Batwoman and her crew. You can watch an exclusive sneak peek of his return in the video above.
Between directing Gotham’s new age Joker, Batwoman herself (and all her family drama), and Mary Hamilton (Nicole Kang) — who is back to her normal self and grappling with what she’s done — we had to ask: is there anything Johnson didn’t get to do in his directorial debut?

Now two episodes into its five-week run, “Armageddon” has Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin) puzzling over his alleged role in the titular destruction of Earth in the year 2031. This week on The Flash, Barry shrugged off talk that his mind would “crack” — until it began to do just that.
Picking up, almost jarringly so, right where Part 1 left off, Despero was whaling on Barry — not to vanquish the future threat just yet, but to assess what it will take once the time comes. Barry asks how it could be that someone who has saved his city so many times could ever unleash Armageddon, and Despero explains that Barry will suffer “a new despair” that caps an “unbroken chain of sorrow,” and as a result his “mind will crack.

Per Deadline, the incomparable Bridget Refan has landed the role of Pamela Isley, aka Poison Ivy.

Isley's plans changed when her colleagues experimented on her and injected her with various plant toxins, which turned her into the villain of Batman.

Exclusive: Another new character is heading to Gotham for the third season of Batwoman. Nick Creegan has been cast as a new series regular opposite Javicia Leslie in the CW drama series.
Creegan will play Marquis Jet. A sexy playboy who grew up in a lavish lifestyle, Marquis is too charming for his own good and wields his power with a ne’er do well attitude. He views life as one big joke and that sense of recklessness has a tendency to clash horribly with his no-nonsense mother Jada Jet. When he meets Ryan (Leslie), he sees in her a like-minded young go-getter who like him is just waiting for the right opportunity to make his mark on Gotham.
He joins recently announced new series regular Victoria Cartagena as Renee Montoya.

Ryan will next take on the role of Dr. Gwyn Davies, an eccentric scientist from the early 20th century who might be the team’s only hope next season.
