Patrik Krivanek is a film and TV director, producer, and screenwriter based in London, United Kingdom, and Prague, Czech Republic. He is passionate about exploring various genres and creating immersive films and stories that are entertaining, socially relevant, thought-provoking, and both visually and character-driven. To achieve an authentically raw experience for the audience, he often films on analogue film, blending the raw style of cinéma vérité with more polished cinematic techniques. His focus is on presenting great stories while maintaining technical excellence, and throughout his career, he has been praised for his attention to detail and collaborative approach with actors, always striving to support them in achieving believable performances.
He received a Film BA degree (Directing & Screenwriting) from Westminster Film School in London, where he was the Vice President of the Film Society and Co-Director of the Westminster Film Festival. Prior to that, he attended Film & TV School Wales (formerly Newport Film School). During and after completing his studies, he became a member of BAFTA, the British Film Institute (BFI), the International Screenwriters' Association (ISA), and the Royal Television Society (RTS). Over the years, he has gained experience in both assistant and executive roles on various film projects, from short films to multi-million-dollar features, as well as high-end TV programs and commercials. He has collaborated on projects led by Academy Award®, BAFTA, and Emmy®-winning filmmakers, such as Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman.
He is the founder and CEO of Ephor Pictures Ltd., an independent film and TV production company in London. His passion and dedication have been recognized with awards and nomiations at renowned Academy Award® and BAFTA-qualifying film festivals worldwide, including Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Austin, Toronto, London, Berlin, Cardiff, and Prague. He is also a regular attendee at international film markets, including the Producers Network at the Cannes Film Festival (MdF), and was invited as a guest of the LUX Audience Award (2024 and 2025), presented by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy in Brussels. He is committed to telling meaningful stories through visual media and hopes to make a lasting contribution to the world of cinema. He is currently developing multiple projects and in pre-production for his directorial debut, Muddy Shoes.
He is currently a member of BAFTA, BFI, RTS, and ISA.
