Action for AIDS, Gayhealth.sg and director Leon Cheo are happy to announce that the Emmy®-nominated short form series is back for a third season on Dec 7, 2023 with the six episodes released weekly on www.youtube.com/gayhealth. The finale episode goes live on Jan 11, 2024. The series' third season explores how community can support but also be destructive.

Asian talent from this year’s biggest movies and television shows gathered at the Beverly Hilton for the Unforgettable Gala on Dec. 16. The Character Media event celebrated emerging and established Asian American talent in the entertainment industry.

Netflix television series “Beef” saw its cast and creator spotlighted, with creator Lee Sung Jin, star Steven Yeun and actor Young Mazino among the honorees.

With the success of the show this awards season, Lee says that he’s still all in for a second season, telling Variety on the carpet, “If Netflix came calling for that, I’m definitely ready.”

“I think there’s so many different ways I could go,” Lee continued. “It’s hard to say right now, but I’m really definitely down to explore that.”

During its seven-year run, BuzzFeed‘s Worth It has reshaped food criticism, boosted family-owned restaurants, earned over one billion views, and depicted over-the-top dishes from around the world. Now, the food-focused web series is coming to an end.

March 11 marks the beginning of the last season of Worth It. After three final episodes, hosts Steven Lim and Andrew Ilnyckyj will officially shelve their shared brand of cost-conscious food criticism.

Worth It episodes are typically framed around a specific ingredient or dish. Lim and Ilnyckyj — who are usually accompanied by cameraman and producer Adam Bianchi — travel to different restaurants to sample cheap, mid-range, and expensive versions of the chosen foodstuff. Each episode ends with the hosts determining which take on the dish provided the best bang for their buck.

That format has sent Lim, Ilnyckyj, and Bianchi around the world, and the final season of Worth It will feature more globetrotting adventures.

Welcome back to Dead Time! Just in time for spooky season, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to chat with Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej, also known as the Ghoul Boys. Buzzfeed Unsolved is perhaps one of the most beloved ghost-hunting shows of the last decade. The Ghoul Boys are back! Six years ago, Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej launched into the pop culture conversation with their BuzzFeed Unsolved web series, which delved into unsolved true crime cases and sought to prove the existence of the supernatural—well, Ryan was trying to prove the existence, Shane was just along for the ride as the skeptic courting demonic possession at every turn. A year after the final season of Unsolved aired, Bergara and Madej have returned to the paranormal scene with Ghost Files, an exciting new series from Watcher, the production studio they founded with Steven Lim.

Global streaming giant Netflix has acquired rights to Malaysian action film “Wira,” which had a successful South East Asian theatrical career last year.

Directed by Adrian Teh, and featuring Hairul Azreen and Yayan Ruhian, action stars from Malaysia and Indonesia, the film follows a man whose return home from the army coincides with plans to rescue his family from the clutches of an evil gangster (played by filmmaker and actor Dain Iskandar Said). When the plan goes wrong troubles mount.

The film was co-produced by Multimedia Entertainment, Act 2 Pictures, Golden Screen Cinemas, Astro Shaw and Primeworks Studios. It was widely released in more than 100 cinemas across Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and Indonesia.

Netflix will make it available globally from June 15. Subtitles will be limited to English and Malay.

“ ‘Wira’ combines unique aspects of storyline, cinematography, and mixed talents from both Malaysia and Indonesia,” said Steven Lim, producer and director at Multimedia Entertainment.

Buzzfeed's YouTube series Worth It sees hosts Steven Lim and Andrew Ilnyckyj, always joined by cameraman Adam Bianchi, travel to three different restaurants serving the same type of food at three different price points, then voting on which one was worth it at its price.

It's a fun and light show to check out when you need to wind down, see some beautiful food being prepared, and two friends enjoying it with hilarious commentary. A lot of the episodes see Andrew and Steven join up with famous chefs, which is always a treat. Let's revisit some of the top-rated episodes so far of this series!

Talent agency CAA has onboarded Watcher Entertainment -- the digital video upstart co-founded by longtime BuzzFeed creators Steven Lim, Ryan Bergara, and Shane Madej. CAA tells Tubefilter that it will be representing Watcher in all areas.

Watcher debuted in Jan. 2020 on YouTube with a slate of nine original series focused on food, travel, and horror. The channel, overseen by head of development Katie LeBlanc, has amassed 504,000 subscribers and has worked with brands like State Farm, Neuro, and Boba Guys (the latter two of whom are also investors in the venture).

Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural follows two young ghost hunters, the ghoul boys Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej, as they research unsolved mysteries and journey to haunted locations. The set up is simple but incredibly effective. Ryan completely and utterly believes that ghosts and demons exist and wants to prove that despite his fear, and Shane doesn't buy any of it.

The show is informative and interesting with plenty of laughs to break the tension when things get too intense or terrifying. If you're a fan of ghost hunter shows and appreciate sarcastic and dark humor, this is definitely worth checking out.

Following in the footsteps of The Try Guys, Safiya Nygaard, Michelle Khare, Chris Reinacher, Gaby Dunn and Allison Raskin, and others, another fleet of former BuzzFeed creators are branching off on their own. 

A new digital production company dubbed Watcher Entertainment is slated to bow on Jan. 10, founded by Ryan Bergara, Steven Lim, and Shane Madej. Bergara is the creator and host of BuzzFeed Unsolved, a true crime series he created and co-hosts with Madej. Madej is also the creator and host of Ruining History, which chronicles funny moments in history. Lim, for his part, is the creator and host of Worth It, which stacks up similar items and services of varying price points. All told, the trio says that content created during their tenure at BuzzFeed has generated a combined 2 billion views.
