- Nedda Sarshar is an emerging filmmaker and writer, who loves to tell stories that centre queer women of colour and their immigrant families. She was the 2021 winner of Reel Asian's "So You Think You Can Pitch?" Competition, and is involved in organizations like BIPOC TV and FIlm. Her writing has been published in places like Huffington Post Canada, This Magazine, and Room Magazine. She has been lucky enough to receive financial support on her projects from granting bodies like the Toronto Arts Council and the Canada Arts Council. She graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A in writing and policy, and was selected for the Banff Centre for the Arts Emerging Writer Intensive. She hopes to continue to create more work in the future that examines life in the Iranian diaspora, and is looking forward to being more involved with the Breakthroughs community!
