Tharun Bhascker’s super hit Telugu-language film Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi (Ene) is all set to get a sequel! The movie developed a cult following among the youth over the years. Many follow the film even today. Makers hinted about having a sequel a long time ago. Meanwhile, fans continued to ask Tharun Bhascker about when they would see a follow-up of the 2018 buddy comedy.

Fans have long been waiting for the sequel to see the light of the day. The wait finally seems to end with makers trying to provide a positive update on the same. The Ene team will reportedly return for Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi 2. The sequel will feature the original cast: Vishwak Sen, Abhinav Gomatam, Venkatesh Kakumanu, Simran Chowdary, Anisha Ambrose, and Sushanth Reddy.

But this time, Vijay will not be acting and Tharun will not be directing. Vijay will be rolling out his first production venture, with Pelli Choopulu director Tharun Bhascker roped in as a hero for the venture. The film is titled Meeku Maathrame Cheptha, and this was revealed by Vijay and Tharun via an interactive video. Tharun Bhascker began his career as a director helming short films. Some of his critically acclaimed works include Vinoothna Geetha Media, Anukokunda, and Sainma. He then went on to direct his first feature film Pelli Choopulu, which won two National Awards - Best Telugu film and Best Screenplay for Dialogues. Pelli Choopulu also fetched a few other prestigious awards such as the Filmfare.

(sic)” The trailer suggests that the film will be a story revolving around a group of four friends, each with their own ambitions, who decide to collaborate and make a short film. New faces Vishwak Sen, Sai Sushanth, Abhinav Gomatam, Venkatesh Kakumanu, Anisha Ambrose and Simran Chowdary make up the cast of the film. “The music for the film is by Vivek Sagar (Tapeloop), Production Design is by Latha Tharun, Cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy, Editing by Raviteja Girijala and Venkat Siddareddy is the Executive Producer,” Suresh Productions said. Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi is the second feature film of Tharun Bhascker who was acclaimed for his first film, Pellichoopulu, which featured Vijay Devarakonda, Ritu Varma, and Priyadarshi Pulikonda in the lead roles. The story revolved around a boy and a girl who meet at a match making ceremony and realize that they share the same dream. The film was a huge success and was well-received at the box office and by critics, and even won two National Film Awards.
