According to Hallmark Mystery, Nelly Knows Mysteries: A Fatal Engagement sees an advice columnist searching for answers to clear her friend’s name.

According to the official synopsis, an advice columnist searches for answers after her childhood friend is the prime suspect in her boyfriend’s murder.

When an unusual handwritten letter arrives at Nelly’s (Pascale Hutton) office, she identifies the handwriting as belonging to her childhood friend, Dahlia (Sarah Grey). The letter claims her boyfriend Blake (Julian Haig) is being unfaithful.

Everyone loves a good mystery, and there’s nothing quite like a suspenseful movie to get the heart racing. Mystery films are renowned for their ability to keep audiences engaged, whether it’s through a complex puzzle plot or a series of twists and turns. Directed by Michael Spiller from a script by Scott Prendergast, episode two airs on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 9pm Et/Pt.

Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden stars as Margaret Wright, Skylar Astin plays Todd Wright, and Tristen J. Winger is Lyle. Madeline Wise plays Allison, Inga Schlingmann is Susan, and Rosa Arredondo stars as Francey.

Great premise but the execution may be a little dubious. It’s strength is the storyline and that it may remind the viewer of Rubicon and Proof because Danny Glover’s character is a mathematician and there is a visible mystery.
