I am looking to get back into the film industry after a long hiatus. My educational background is in film and video production from the film and theater department at the University of Kansas. While there, my education was advised under the guidance of Kevin Willmott, writer/director of C.S.A.: Confederate States of America and co-writer of Chiraq. I was bitten by the costuming bug when I interned on Lenexa 1 Mile, directed by Jason Wiles of Third Watch fame, and was trained by costume designer Daniel Lawson (Third Watch, The Good Wife, 3 Emmy nominations).
I worked in the film industry for three years after graduation, mainly in costume design and wardrobe supervision, with some work in location scouting and production management. After moving to Austin, TX and being unsuccessful in continuing film production work, I started working in organic and sustainable agriculture. I worked in agriculture for about four years, traveling around the US for last part until landing in New Orleans where I worked in community organizing and nonprofit management for about three and half years, mainly in program/project management, public relations, marketing and communications.
I have recently left the nonprofit world to return to a career in the film industry. I've been wanting to get back into the business for a while now, particularly since moving to New Orleans five years ago when Hollywood South was in full swing here and you saw trucks and trailers shooting on location everywhere. It brought back fond memories and broke my heart just a little. I have just moved to Atlanta to reenter the film business.
