Boy Kills World earned a Fresh 64% score on Rotten Tomatoes. This marks star Famke Janssen's third Fresh score since a long Rotten streak began in 2009. Janssen's future Fresh prospects lie more in upcoming TV projects than in movies.

The action-comedy movie follows the title character Boy (Bill Skarsgrd) as he enacts bloody revenge on the people who killed his family in a violent post-apocalyptic future. The ensemble cast of the movie also includes Happy Death Day's Jessica Rothe, Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery, X-Men's Famke Janssen, District 9's Sharlto Copley, Stranger Things' Brett Gelman, Old Spice commercial star Isaiah Mustafa, and the voice of Bob's Burgers' H. Jon Benjamin.
Rotten Tomatoes has calculated an official critic score for the movie during the weekend of the Boy Kills World release.

You have come here after watching Jawan, the latest dish Atlee Kumar plated with India’s biggest superstar Shah Rukh Khan at the center of it. Chances are you have already watched it multiple times and are planning to go for it again. In the meantime, you are looking for films like Jawan, which can offer you a similar kind of experience. That is where this article comes in, where we have conjured up a list of ten films that might fill your Jawan- void in the upcoming weeks. Some of the entries in the list might surprise you, so I am going to share the thought process before going into it. Given that Jawan is many spices blended into one perfect dish, my agenda here is to suggest films that cover all the aspects of Jawan: anti-establishment, vigilante justice, mass action, social drama, as well as the father-son story,...

Let me just start by saying this: In the world we live in, the poor always get exploited by the rich. There is no way around this cold, hard fact, as we are all part of a capitalist society that most of us have accepted. I understand, this is not exactly what you would expect to read at the start of a movie review, but Avan Jogia’s debut feature, Door Mouse, sort of demands this contemplation. The Canadian actor-singer, who previously directed two very exciting shorts, shows his full potential here and confidently tells a kind of story that we might have heard before, but never really with this much style and precision. A kind of uber-coolness oozes out of literally every frame of Door Mouse, but the movie doesn’t just rely on that. Instead, it builds up a very relevant story, chapter by chapter, and delivers a scintillating climax in the end.

Arthur Penn’s Bonnie and Clyde was a highly influential piece of cinema that ushered in a new era of violent and stylish storytelling that featured young people at the center. It was controversial and sexy, launched both title stars to superstardom, and has cemented itself in Hollywood history by birthing a new subgenre. Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers picked up the mantel and created an explosive film that pushed the boundaries of technical creativity in a highly stylized, satirical, and violent homage to Bonnie and Clyde. Now in 2023, Tom DeNucci hopes that his Johnny & Clyde can leave as big a mark as its cinematic parents, but can it?
Johnny & Clyde follows the titular killers, played by Avan Jogia and Skate Kitchen’s breakout star Ajani Russell, who have been rampaging across the country. Between killing and having sex in dinky motels on top of beds full of cash,...

The month of April for Hulu is jam-packed with TV and film goodies, from Adam Sandler’s 1999 comedy “Big Daddy” to Fox’s hit sitcom “New Girl.”
On top of Hulu’s rollout of a new interface, it’s also adding some major film and TV titles to its platform. Some of the highlights that set off the first day of April include “American Psycho,” “Shrek” and its sequel “Shrek 2,” plus the Tim Story-directed “Think Like a Man.”
Anime series will be all the rage on Hulu with the dubbed version of the new popular series “Chainsaw Man” arriving, along with “Spy x Family” and “Black Clover.” If you’re looking for something a little bit more kid-friendly, the family can al enjoy “Despicable Me” and “Despicable 2,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days” and “Nanny McPhee.” For the lovers and heartless romantics, “Dear John” and “Date Night...

Hulu’s list of new releases for April 2023 don’t feature many blockbusters, but if we dig a little, I’m sure we can find some gems.
Perhaps the most promising items are on the TV side of things. Tiny Beautiful Things premieres on April 7 and stars Kathryn Hahn as “a floundering writer who becomes a revered advice columnist while her own life is falling apart.” That will be followed by comedy Am I Being Unreasonable? on April 11 and two documentaries: high school football story Algiers, America (April 19) and Tupac Shakur piece Dear Mama (April 22).
The best TV candidate this month, however, is probably Saint X on April 26. This series, told via multiple timelines, “explores and upends the girl-gone-missing genre as it explores how a young woman’s mysterious death during an idyllic Caribbean vacation creates a traumatic ripple effect that eventually pulls her surviving sister into a dangerous pursuit of the truth.

Even if you’ve signed up for every streaming service out there, it can feel monumental when a title moves from one to another. In April, Netflix mainstay “New Girl” moves to Hulu; still streaming, but not where fans are used to finding it — like rearranging the furniture in your apartment and waking up surprised every day that the couch is over there now.
But what’s important is that “New Girl” lives on, now joining Hulu’s own TV and movie library and originals from Freeform, FX, National Geographic, and more. Later in the month, Leila Gerstein’s “Saint X” — based on the novel by Alexis Schaitkin — premieres with three episodes, recounting the story of a young girl found dead during a family vacation and the sister piecing it together years later. Alycia Debnam-Carey, Josh Bonzie, West Duchovny, Jayden Elijah, Bre Francis, Kenlee Anaya Townsend, Betsy Brandt, and Michael Park star.

Avan Jogia wants people to watch his directorial debut, “Door Mouse,” a film he also wrote and appears in. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a big budget to market and promote the indie.
But, he does have a hot body. Shortly after the movie’s release earlier this month, the former “Victorious” star posted a 30-second clip on TikTok that shows him at the gym followed by glimpses of his bare chest and abs. “Is that good enough for you? Did we do it? The thirst trap? Okay, now go watch ‘Door Mouse,'” he says in the video.
A few days later, Jogia tells Variety the tactic worked.
“I’ve seen a lot of people who watched the film who probably wouldn’t,” Jogia says on this week’s upcoming episode of the “Just for Variety” podcast. “And then they text or Dm me this really moving thing about...

Audiences love a good adventure film about kids going on fantastical and sci-fi journey. It is the type of story that made Steven Spielberg a legend to many young generations of filmmakers. Later, that premise would get the likes of Netflix's Stranger Things off to a fantastic start with viewership. Kids vs. Aliens is a good ol’ fashioned kids vs. alien story with a great deal of profanity and gore.
Kids vs. Aliens follows Gary (Dominic Mariche) and his friends as they make a homemade movie of epic proportions. Of course, the kids are fighting dinosaurs with guns and swords alongside Gary’s sister, Sam (Phoebe Rex), who is particularly interested in wielding the latter. Things go off the rails with the production as Sam starts to feel awkward about playing with kids, a couple of bullies decide to pick on Gary and his friends, Gary gets injured, and...

Written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg in his feature directorial debut, When You Finish Saving the World is a conflicting feature. The movie first debuted at the Sundance Film Festival a year ago, and now is set to be released in theaters by A24. It revolves around two maddening, messy characters and explores the complex dynamic between them. It has moments of piercing emotion, yet also holds its fair share of stumbles, including some stilted dialogue. Ultimately, it feels like a journey only partially taken; some pieces are missing. When You Finish Saving the World is filled with interesting ideas and scenes, yet is hindered by character development that feels incomplete.
Perpetually fussy Evelyn (Julianne Moore) runs a shelter for individuals and families running from dangerous situations. While she has a solid grasp on her work life, her relationship with her teenage son, Ziggy (Finn Wolfhard), is fraying with each terse interaction.

Hollywood’s Streaming Gold Rush Keeps Ontario Soundstages at Full Capacity Despite Netflix’s Stumble
Click here to read the full article.
With Hollywood in need of cost-effective programming as the streamers begin to tighten their belts, local film studio operators see an opening for Ontario as the major studios reach for generous currency and tax credit savings.
Ontario is projected to add another 2.3 million square feet of studio space to an existing 3.7 million square feet of soundstages and production space over the next four years. Amid speculation about whether the video streaming market is finally oversaturated, studio operators in and around Toronto do not expect major streaming services to greatly cut back on content spending — at least in the near future.
“Netflix, Amazon, Apple, they’re still doing their production. The filtering down of [content] cutbacks, we haven’t felt that,” Paul Bronfman, chairman and CEO of studio operator Comweb Corp., tells The Hollywood Reporter amid talk of a Hollywood spending slump just as the Toronto Film Festival gets underway.
