A touching, prison drama.

This obscure prison drama was made for TV (in the 1980's) but i'm surprised that no one has reviewed it previously, or even picked up on it . I have watched a good few movies in this genre and whilst the production values do not exactly match the films of today, it's rather well made and moving at times. Stars Geoffrey Lewis, who was one of the baddies in 'High Plains Drifter', whilst the lead actor Robert Desiderio, is highly watchable to.

Originally aired by HBO in the mid-1980s, the TV-series has apparently never been released in its complete form on any home-video format as of yet (May 2020). However, a cut-down 2-hour version featuring mostly clips from four episodes has been released on VHS, Laserdisc, and DVD, as a "movie", with chopped-up credits from the show before and after the feature, showing partial cast and production crew, but unfortunately not all are credited.
