Mamooty is the hot headed son of a dutiful father Madhu. Both men are often at logger heads with each other. Mamooty gets drawn in a rich boys gang near by . They indulge in most filthy manners and habits on the pretext of going to college and studying . The boys keep asking him for money . Mamooty starts pestering his parents and lying for money to be included in that boys club.
Sriviyda is often torn between her two men.
Meanwhile Sukumari runs a fine house nearby with her children Soman and Poornima .
Poornima and Mamooty are a couple .
When Madhu realises that his son is going beyond repair he rushes to Sukumari's house to hasten up the wedding . By then sadly Mamooty has left house due to daily squabbles .
Both Sriviyda and Poornima only stand and silently watch this.
Slowly Mamooty realises that his boys club is only asking for money and isolating him . He sees the futility of running behind such shallow people . He starts coming through . Madhu gets a heart attack . Mamooty comes back home to visit his ailing father. Finally its a happy ending for the family . Srividya nad Mamooty must be the same age in their early 30s during this movie . Srividya carries the mature role of his mother gracefully .
Poornima is slim and wears soft sarees all the time . She hardly has anything to do except cry or sing .
Over all a fine movie with a family oriented message . Mohanlal comes in a small role as a member of the boys club .
