The last time The Bold and the Beautiful went to Italy, it ended badly for Liam when he saw Hope kissing Thomas. They were in Rome, where Brooke and Ridge reunited, but that lasted only until Carter stole Forrester Creations and Ridge thought Hope had sided against him. Now, it appears that the show is heading back for some Italian location shoots, leaving the possibilities of what could happen there up to the viewers’ imaginations.

Paul Feig always gives his cast a lot of input into their movies. The 62-year-old director believes it is important to allow stars "a lot of leeway" because, having acted himself, he thinks it would "cut off this huge bit of talent" if he ignored their opinions and ideas.Speaking about his collaboration with 'Another Simple Favor' stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, he told People magazine: “I mean that's what I always do.“When I work with actors, I give them a lot of leeway. I want them to figure out what they want to wear, etc., because I was an actor, I know. Like if I'm just saying, ‘Say this. Say this the way I wrote it,’ I'm cutting off this huge bit of talent.“So every movie, every show I've ever done, I collaborate with them and go, ‘Here's the stuff,’ and they'll come [back with], ‘Oh what about this?...

Two movies in, and nobody can accuse the “Simple Favor” franchise of not knowing what it wants to be.
Speaking to a SXSW audience after the world premiere of “Another Simple Favor,” Blake Lively recalled being nervous on the set of Paul Feig’s original 2018 film because she wasn’t sure if it was intended to play as a comedy or a drama. But when Feig reunited the cast of what turned out to be a very dark comedy for a direct-to-streaming sequel that takes place on the Italian island of Capri, it appeared that everyone had the same goal: turn this into the most consistently nonsensical franchise on the planet.
“A Simple Favor” was not exactly a film known for its restraint. What began as an uncomplicated request from one mom to another — the high-powered publicist Emily (Lively) asking Stephanie the do-gooder supermom to pick her son up from...

Blake Lively said that Another Simple Favor director Paul Feig “upped the ante” in the Amazon MGM Studios /Lionsgate sequel — and that’s keeping the spoiler at bay.
However, watching herself — a lot of herself — onscreen at the Paramount Theatre for the SXSW world premiere Friday, the actress said, “It was uncomfortable to watch in this theater.” That’s not a ding. You gotta see the movie May 1 on Prime Video to see what she’s talking about.
In Another Simple Favor, Lively’s Emily Nelson is not dead. She returns to visit Anna Kendrick’s Stephanie Smothers, who is making a name for herself as an author writing about the calamities that ensued in A Simple Favor. Emily is getting married in Capri, Italy, to a glamorous, mob-tied guy. She insists that Stephanie be her maid-of-honor, or else she’ll sue her for not clearing her name and likeness,...

Emilia Pérez, the highly unconventional Spanish-language musical from the French filmmaker Jacques Audiard and the American distributor Netflix, was the toast of the Capri Hollywood International Film Festival over the Christmas/New Year break.
At the 29th edition of the Italian fest, which is held on the titular island off the coast of Naples, the festival’s jury awarded the film a field-leading six prizes: best picture, actress (Karla Sofía Gascón, who was in attendance at the fest), adapted screenplay, makeup/hairstyling and ensemble, as well as a special honor for its producers.
The other films that were awarded multiple prizes were A24’s The Brutalist, which received three, including best actor for Adrien Brody; and, with two each, Focus’ Conclave, including best supporting actress for Isabella Rossellini; Warners’ Dune: Part Two; and Universal’s Wicked.

Johnny Depp’s new film Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness will close out the Rome Film Festival on Saturday, Oct. 26, and the denizens of The Eternal City can’t wait for the star to arrive.
Indeed, the highlight of an otherwise unremarkable edition of the 10-day-long fest will undoubtedly be Johnny Depp’s appearance on Saturday to present the biopic Modi, which premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival and chronicles three chaotic days in the life of Italian painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani.
Meanwhile, at an event that is separate from the film fest, Depp’s film will on Friday night receive the coveted Capri Cult Award.
The producer of Modi, Barry Navidi, a long-time friend of Al Pacino, will pick up the Capri prize on Friday night.
The Capri Cult Award is bestowed by the Capri Institute, the non-profit organization that organizes an annual film fest on the eponymous island.

Almost 35 years ago, production designer David Gropman worked on a Merchant Ivory World War II-era drama called “Mr. & Mrs. Bridge,” in which the opening sequence was in black and white. He still remembers watching dailies to that sequence and hearing director James Ivory exclaim, “What have I been waiting for all these years? It works so much better in black and white!”
“He was right,” Gropman said, laughing. “And I have longed to do a black-and-white film since then.” He finally got his wish with “Ripley,” Steven Zaillian’s Netflix limited series based on the Patricia Highsmith novel “The Talented Mr. Ripley” — although Gropman estimates that the eight-episode, seven-hour series was really “about five films” in scale and complexity.
The action begins in New York in the early 1960s and then moves to Italy’s Amalfi Coast, where a petty criminal named Tom Ripley (Andrew Scott) has been tasked...

Disney's live-action Moana remake offers Catherine Laga'aia a breakout role, similar to Auli'i Cravalho's introduction in the animated film. Laga'aia's on-screen presence in the live-action adaptation could lead to bigger opportunities in Hollywood. Moana 2 is set for November 2024, followed by the live-action remake in 2026.
The live-action casting for the titular role of Moana repeats the animated film's brilliant decision. In 2015, Disney announced that Auli'i Cravalho would play Moana in the animated film. She was an unknown actress at the time, but Disney does not always cast unknown actors to play lead roles, especially for live-action remakes. Emma Watson has an extremely famous past thanks to Harry Potter, and Disney picked her to play Belle in Beauty and the Beast (2017). Beyonc is one of the world's most well-known performers, and Disney cast her to play Nala in The Lion King (2019) and Mufasa.

In Patricia Highsmith’s novel “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” Dickie Greenleaf’s father asks Tom if he’s ever read Henry James’ novel “The Ambassadors.” The reference is a sly one; James’ 1903 book is about a man sent from the Northeast to Paris to bring back a wayward son. That’s Tom’s mission, as well, though his European transformation is starkly different from James’ Lewis Lambert Strether, who ultimately returns to America wiser but sadder.
Tom intends no such return, and who could blame him when he sets up house in a palazzo as magnificent as the one in Steven Zaillian’s Netflix adaptation “Ripley.” “Who died?” his frenemy Marge (Dakota Fanning) quips when she first sees it; the answer is, of course, Dickie Greenleaf, but Tom pretends it was the aunt who raised him.
“In 2005, I did the film ‘Casanova,’ directed by Lasse Hallström,” “Ripley” production designer David Gropman told IndieWire.

Gary Oldman has been cast in Paolo Sorrentino's new film. The 65-year-old actor has landed a role in the untitled Italian-language drama that is currently filming in Naples.Details about Oldman's part have not been revealed, but Sorrentino's film is about a woman named Partenope "who bears the name of her city but is neither siren nor myth".In Greek mythology, Parthenope – as she is known in English – is the name of a siren who, after failing to lure Odysseus with her songs, cast herself into the sea and drowned. Her body washed up on a symbolic foundational rock where Naples lies.Sorrentino said: "Her long life embodies the full repertoire of human existence: youth's lightheartedness and its demise, classical beauty and its inexorable permutations, pointless and impossible loves, stale flirtations and dizzying passion, night-time kisses on Capri, flashes of joy and persistent suffering, real and invented fathers, endings and new beginnings.
