I like a lot of things about this show. In the more recent seasons however I have noticed the live audience becoming more and more obnoxious with their constant booing of the judges for...well JUDGING. They seriously cannot express any critique or opinion without the audience erupting into boos. LET THE JUDGES JUDGE! There are acts that make it through just because the audience booed a judge until they say "fine I'll say yes". Manipulative and obnoxious audience.

This year had awesome talent, yet the results are ridiculous. It's frustrating to the watch. I can no longer endure watching all season and have a dog and silly man win over about 20 other highly skilled individuals and groups. This is either "fixed" or Americans are more ignorant than I thought. If the show does not address these matters they will lose viewers. Clearly, the judges were shocked and dismayed themselves, yet none of them is speaking out publicly. Someone in a position of authority must look into the voting process and validity thereof. Having more than 1 vote person each week is asking for fraud.

I see this show having great potential. The judges are where my issues fall. Piers Morgan and Brandy need to keep their hands off of all buzzers except their own! If David wants to see an act to the end, that is his right. I do believe that the judges are very fast at the buzzer without giving some acts a chance. There were some ridiculous acts that were passed on to the next round when they have no chance of making it in the circus. When an act that intrigued me came along, I didn't get a chance to see their potential because of the immature and unprofessional judges. The judges also need to realize this is NOT American Idol, the search is for talent, which is exactly what the bird lady was trying to say. I do not care about the big name judges, or Regis, on the show I want to see people who can recognize talent! I found myself, and present company getting frustrated and quite bothered with the judges. I would love to see the panel of judges COMPLETELY change so I can continue to enjoy the show. If there is no change, my whole household will no longer tune in to that show and hope it gets taken off the air!

In the past there were some good acts but what annoys me is the judges praising some of the most boring contestants and their acts and an audience that would give a standing ovation if somebody tossed road kill on to the stage. The audience is always way too over the top.

We don't care what the judges or audience think about the acts until the acts are over. Stop showing their reactions to the acts while they're happening. We only want to see the acts!

The best and most diverse talent competition show on network TV. Period. Great judging. The best host on TV...Nick Cannon. From singers to dancers to magicians to comedians to acrobats, all you are missing were thrilling danger acts...wait, they have those too. This show is a lot of fun. Howie Mandel is a very funny man and the addition of Howard Stern ( however emasculated he may seem) is actually quite entertaining. And isn't that what it's all about? I do believe that there is no other show on television that offers all of that. Singing, yes. Dancing, yes. Sit back and enjoy. Should win every Emmy in it's category every year. Great fun for all

You sit at home watching the show calmly while the judges are screaming, hiding their eyes and making ridiculous comments. Then the audience gives a standing ovation to just about everything. Standing ovations are supposed to be for something really special. Done this often it loses its meaning and significance. Another show with too much hype.

This show was SO awesome! I loved it a lot, and Piers was very mean at times. ALl the talents were good and I knew who was going to win from the beginning! I hope to make it to next season's show. This was a great, great show and I encourage all people reading this at the moment to watch it. It's on NBC and whoever wants to see if their talent is worth $1,000,000 can go to www.NBC.com and find "America's Got Talent." and there should be a form SOMEWHERE on that page showing where you can try out for it. If I make it, I encourage you all to cheer and vote for me to make it to the top! I don't know if you can watch the show again to find out who won, but search it on google and you should find it!

Should be titled "America Is Running Out of Talent". Average singers, card tricks or groups of kids jumping and stomping in unison is usually all there is. Usually pretty tedious, unless you take a drink every time a judge uses the word "amazing".

Seriously, can we just drop the sob stories and focus on talent? Too many times people have gotten through that didn't deserve it but skated by on pity from the judges. It's pathetic.

IMDb, for all its many wonders, is really is not set up to rate or review a "reality talent show" that has been running for 9 years and keeps evolving so that, in effect, season 9 has as much in common with season 1 as Obama does with JFK. To this humble scribe, AGT in season 9 is not only the best of all the reality-talent shows but, ironically, the show also demonstrates that it is both possible and desirable for these shows to evolve, to fix their own flaws, and become better. And better is the operative word here. While competitors like THE VOICE actually become more unctuous and puffed-out from season to season (it should be called what it really is - THE EGOS) here in season 9 of AGT the "hosts" have formed a team of common purpose that other shows should be jealous of. Maybe on their own each of these characters has flaws and weaknesses -- no doubt -- but, as an ensemble, Howie, Howard, Mel and Heidi someone have become a show of their own, and that is really what was needed for this "yet another Simon Cowell production" to kick into high gear. The storyline is, was, and always will be just another iteration of the 1950s TED MACKS AMATEUR HOUR; and in their hearts the viewers already know that what starts off as a love-fest will end up looking like a butcher shop, as act after act is cut. Talent-wise -- and I confess I have seen almost every season -- the only actual "acts" I remember are the car wash guy who could imitate Sinatra (I think he won) and a 10 year old girl from Vegas who did a version of Wild Horses that gave me chills (she was booted, probably because her voice and age did not match, and that always freaks out the audience). But the name is, like most TV shows, a misdirection. It is not about the talent on stage, it is about the talent judging the talent. That is the entertainment. And this show has figured that out.

Great talent show commercialized to a point well past being able to stomach any more. However, I still enjoy the talent show aspect and skip all the story nonsense. 5 minute gratuitous judge intro, 20 minutes fabricated unnecessary biased drama, 20 minutes commercials, 15 minutes great amazing TV.

I've timed the show on several occasions and the camera view we see changes every 3 seconds. I never get a chance to see the talent. I see the judges faces more than the talent. The director is ruining the show. I can hardly stand to watch it. I tune in for the talent but see a bunch of BS and screen shots of the judges. Poor Director and producer. They must have their heads up their ?

This show used to be pretty entertaining, but has now turned into a pity show. The only acts who make it through have sob stories. It would be more enjoyable if they told the stories later on in the show. It would be nice to watch an actual talent show vs who has the biggest sob story show.

I personally don't find the danger acts appealing. I always have to mute or look away from them. The sob stories are over the top. There is an occasional good act, but it's not worth sitting through a whole episode for. The straw that broke the camels back for me is the fact that they allow comedians from other countries come and do nothing more on stage than insult Americans. Now, I'm no stuck in the mud, I find many of the comedic acts mocking past presidents hilarious. But there are some other acts that are straight up bigotry and not even comedy anymore. If an American openly insulted a country's citizens in another country the same way they had some so on this stage, there would rightfully be backlash. So I don't appreciate double standard here. It's not comedy. It's bigotry. There's a difference between a joke, and xenophobic sentiments disguised as jokes. I have no problem with acts from other countries on the show, but the ones that come onstage openly insulting Americans do not deserve the screen time. I would not accept an American doing that on another country's show, and expect the same respect in return.

I've read all the other reviews and agree with the most of the good and bad said about this show. The judges are obviously used for two reasons only: to draw out the time and try to help us connect emotionally. It's always a hit or miss. Often they just sound like they enjoy hearing the sound of their own voices. But they are worth their weight in pontificating syllables. The talent here is definitely varied. The other shows in this vein are all about singing or dancing only and that has gotten quite stale.
This show has talent of all varieties, and some you've never even imagined before. You never know if you are going to be assaulted with someone's idea of greatness or if you will be treated to something spectacular yet unassuming. This show has more "great" moments than those other shows combined, just check out some of the YouTube highlights. I highly recommend this show and hope that it can spark a return of variety shows such as The Carol Burnett Show and The Dean Martin Show. (I've seen them in reruns!)

I rate this 7/10 but only if it is recorded and watched later. Then you can skip all the BS. There is a great variety of entertaining acts to watch here. But also a ton of back stories, chit chat, judge worship, etc. A 2 hour episode boiled down to about 40 minutes of actual performances and some of the judges' remarks is well worth your time. I cannot imagine watching it live.

Lord this show is a joke. Its so contrived that it is impossible to enjoy anymore. The sob stories make me want to throw up, the judges are a joke, the fake "bad" acts that make it all the way threw the nation wide completions and surprise the judges with their terrible acts, and that I've never heard of any acts making it after winning on this show is the final evidence this show should be put down once and for all.

I thought the guy ( don't even want to know his name) was OUT OF ORDER. He is at best.........not a good judge of talent. The people that are on there are not celebrities they are ordinary people. He is trying so hard to be "Simon" that it clearly doesn't work. I also disagreed with them on the woman with the bird. If he can stop being a journalist for one hour to train a bird then he is "All That". It takes a lot of training for a person to teach a bird to speak.
If they don't whip into shape and tell him that we don't do things like that then this show will not last.
I like the concept of the show because it reminds me of the old "Gong Show" and it is funny. I think that they need to let the people at least show some of their talent before they are "X" out.

Every year since Grace Vanderwal won they have cut to the same girl in the audience having the exact same reaction to very lame performances. She opens her mouth as wide as possible and turns to her right. How has no one else noticed this?

This show is very good considering the amount of stars that it created and the talent that it brought out to the world. But the main problem with me is that it does not allow the viewer to enjoy what the performer is doing. It cuts to audience, judges, hosts etc. This usually happens in reality shows but on AGT the performance is only for 5 minutes, so these cuts are irritating and the performances that don't cut to audience are often filled with cheering and other sounds. For example think that a person is performing a musical piece on his violin or guitar, the sound of audience or like wooing is played as loud as the musical instrument, the editor could easily reduce the sound of cheering to a level that does not interfere with the performance. Also the ones with out talent are often considered to move further because of there sad past. We often refer to it as sympathy pass here. But talent wise the show is so good that's why I am giving 7 stars.
