The catch and core secret at the heart of "House of Sleeping Beauties," a sensual adaptation of Nobel prize-winning author Yasunari Kawabata's sixties novella, is that the women are sound asleep and do not wake up.  Edmond enjoys their beauty and tenderness over repeated visits but grows determined to find out the secret behind these beautiful sleeping women.
