I just wanna say that do watch till the end and I promise you won't regret doing so! But you will feel like flipping a table...yeah that's how crazy some characters drive you sometimes. Nevertheless give it a try you will love it! ☺
Ok, so I watched this show because of Jill Harris voicing Haru. And that's a true plesure, both the character and the voice talent work there, I can tell you. There are many scenes I watched multiple times just to listen to her sentences. (I discovered Jill's work first in Higehiro as Sayu, she also voiced a lovely character there, however, that show is a bit more controversial than convenient for me. Don't skip it tough, it's just fantasy, you don't have to agree with everything you watch. There are movies where they are killing people, you know...)
As for the rest of the characters and the show I can't really highlight anything. It's average at best and twice as long than it should be. As a positive point for me the presentation and the dialogs are mature. No fan service, no annoying creepy characters, no stupid jokes, it's a slice of life anime. If you have time and nothing more interesting to watch, it can work. As others mentioned already the two MCs are just annoyingly indecisive. You have to watch them mature and come to a conclusion at the end and it's a pain to watch them sometimes. You will watch lots of cooking, eating and walking. Sometimes I asked myself why I watch these losers, but I just returned time to time. This show has some charm for sure.
The ending is cool.
I demand more Haru! ;)
ps. I came back and raised my point from 7 to 8. It's not average, it's just slow. But nice nonetheless.

I honestly don't get how some people say this was to rushed it is very slow and i ended up falling asleep to the same episode trice. For a 12 episode anime this took way to long to finish. The story is good but gets to repeated and the main characters undetermined personality is aggravating. This wasn't for me but if slow paced love triangles sound like something you would enjoy then this one is for you!
Rikuo has recently graduated from college but has no ambition to do anything with his life; he has a job at a convenience store. Things are about to get interesting for him as he meets Haru, a somewhat eccentric girl who is frequently accompanied by her pet crow; and Shinako, an old college friend who is now a teacher. Things are further complicated for Shinako as her late boyfriend's younger brother clearly has feelings for her.
This is a fairly gentle anime series with realistic characters leading ordinary lives; there is no major drama, no fan service and it isn't a comedy... that may make some people think it must be boring but I'd 'disagree; I enjoyed the pace and found the realistic characters fun to watch. The animation is good and the character designs and backgrounds fit the realistic feel of the series. It won't be for everybody but I'd certainly recommend this to anime fans looking for something different.

I rarely do watch seasonal anime, but for once in my life, since I have all this free time during quarantine, I decided to try watching some anime that aired this season. One of those anime series is Yesterday wo Utatte (Sing "Yesterday" for Me).
It's refreshing for me to watch a show that focuses more on human drama, or drama in general, one of my favorite genres. The first couple of episodes were particularly noteworthy, mostly because of the protagonist who I somehow empathize with despite me still being a student. The plot was interesting and I wondered how a Seinen type of anime would handle it. The way the characters of this world were introduced was great. I kind of like the rough-ish art style and the soundtrack was good. I also appreciate the show's quiet, minimalist approach when characters are talking with each other as to give emphasis on what they are saying.
Speaking of characters, I thought they were quite good. That is, until we reached the last couple of episodes. When I found out that this show only has 12 instead of 18, I thought to myself: "How will this show end?" I had no idea how the anime will have a good conclusion to a plot that takes it time to build up. There were some good dramatic interactions and some bad interactions with the main cast as the show comes to an end. What I thought was a good show that tackles relationships between friends and lovers, ended with a sudden conclusion that would have paid off were it not for the fact that it felt rushed and could have been better if it had more episodes to develop the plot and the characters more. Seeing the extras did lighten me up about the show a little bit.
I may read the manga soon, since I have heard that the ending is different. However, at the end of the day, what started as a great show, turned out to be kind of rushed in the end.
6.5/10
