When Tyler Perry’s The Oval returns for Season 2, the First Lady is done mincing words with her husband’s latest mistress. “Pack up your things and leave this place,” she says. “Or I will have your body cut up into little pieces and mailed to your mother.”
And that isn’t even the craziest thing that goes down in the BET drama’s newest trailer, of which TVLine has an exclusive first look. Check it out below:

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Thad Cockrell made his debut on The Tonight Show Tuesday, January 26th, performing his song “Swingin’” with the Roots.
Cockrell and the Roots linked up remotely for the performance, but despite the distance, they injected the David Bowie and Arcade Fire-indebted track with plenty of punch. “If I’m gonna go down,” Cockrell bellowed during the chorus, “I wanna go down swinging/I wanna go down hard/With all of my heart.”

John Oliver kicked off Sunday’s Last Week Tonight by diving into the presidential debate and the latest news revolving around President Trump.
The HBO host fact-checked Trump for several comments he made during Thursday’s debate between the president and Joe Biden. Those included Trump saying the U.S. is “rounding the corner” as it pertains to the coronavirus and that wind turbines kill all birds (both of which Oliver said were not true).
He then noted that Trump insisted during the debate that he was the “least racist person in the room.”

Late Show host Stephen Colbert, Tonight Show‘s Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s Kimmel weighed in on the final debate between President Trump and Joe Biden Thursday, in what was by most accounts a much calmer affair than the first face-off due to a mute button that silenced each candidate for two minutes per segment. But to those who hoped for even less Trump, Colbert quipped “The ultimate mute button is in your hands.”
“It’s like dental surgery, and tonight was like getting our last wisdom tooth taken out,” Colbert said during his monologue in his post-debate live Late Show, in which an interrupting Donald Trump cartoon president briefly appeared. “Yes, it hurt, and yes, we can still taste the blood in our mouths.”
“Tonight was Donald Trump’s very last chance to make his closing argument: Please ignore what he’s like and everything he’s ever done,...

NBC News on Thursday issued a strong statement of support for one of its reporters, Brandy Zadrozny, who was targeted in a segment on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight.
In the segment last night, Carlson and Darren Beattie, a former speechwriter to Donald Trump, talked of Zadrozny’s reporting, accusing her of trying to “ruin” the lives of supporters of the president by seeking out identifying information of anonymous Twitter users.
“Why would NBC News be doing something like this?” Carlson asked.
Zadrozny is an investigative reporter for the network who has been reporting on misinformation and QAnon conspiracy theories, particularly on social media platforms. Last week, she wrote on a story about what she described as an online network built around the president’s claim that the presidential election will be rigged.
In a statement, NBC News said that Zadrozny “is relentlessly well-researched and sophisticated in her understanding of...

Netflix's Away won't be taking off for another adventure. On Oct. 20, Deadline reported that the series starring Hilary Swank has been canceled after only one season. It's unclear why Netflix decided to cancel the show, especially after it received positive reviews from fans and critics alike. It even spent time in the top 10 titles on Netflix.
The series brings space exploration a little closer to home as viewers follow Emma Green (Swank) and her international crew - Ram (Ray Panthaki), Lu (Vivian Wu), Misha (Mark Ivanir), and Kwesi (Ato Essandoh) - on a Mars expedition. As they navigate the challenges of their journey, they must also deal with the repercussions on their loved ones back home.
The astronauts eventually reach their goal and step down on red sand, which leaves fans wondering what comes next. The showrunner previously talked about their hopes for another season back in September. "I...

Neve Campbell is preparing to head to the Scream 5 set to once again reprise her franchise role as Sidney Prescott, and the scream queen says she's excited to reunite with her former co-stars. Throughout all four prior Scream movies, Campbell's Sidney managed to make it to the end along with married couple Dewey (David Arquette) and Gale Riley (Courteney Cox). The nightmare apparently isn't over yet for the trio, however, as they'll all be facing Ghostface once more when Scream 5 is released in 2022.
Speaking about the upcoming sequel, here's what Neve Campbell had to say about Scream 5 in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight.
"I am leaving soon [and] I am looking forward to getting back to work. It will be the first time since March and I am sure we are all dealing with getting back to work, so I am excited about that. I am excited...

Patton Oswalt, Lil Nas X and other celebrities have fired back at Fox News host Tucker Carlson for claiming they helped fund “chaos” by donating money to bail out protesters across the nation.
On Friday night’s edition of his self-titled show, Carlson played a video listing the names of actors, musicians and athletes he claims are contributing to looting and unrest via their checkbooks.
The right-leaning host began his comments by bashing corporations for donating to Black Lives Matter as protests continue around the country over the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
“Big companies — cynical, soulless, craven corporations like Pepsi, Intel and AirBnB are funding this chaos,” Carlson said. “They’re giving money to Black Lives Matter, which is pushing to defund the police. But it isn’t just major corporations that are fueling all of this. Celebrities are, too, by paying to get violent rioters out of jail.

On a somber edition of The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon apologized once again for wearing blackface in the past and discussed how the country should move forward after George Floyd's death with NAACP president Derrick Johnson and CNN Tonight anchor Don Lemon.
At the top of Monday night's episode, the late night host noted that he was going to have a "different kind of show" in light of the weekend's nationwide protests. Noting that a sketch of him performing blackface on Saturday Night Live had reemerged the previous week, Fallon said that at the time he was ...

Comedians tend to fare pretty well on America’s Got Talent, but we’ll let you decide whether this Season 15 hopeful has what it takes to become the next Preacher Lawson.
TVLine has an exclusive sneak peek of Tuesday’s Agt (NBC, 8/7c), which introduces the viewers to Los Angeles-based funnyman Usama Siddiquee. By employing the time-honored combination of self-deprecation and oversharing, Siddiquee has all four judges in stitches — including Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell, both of whom are notoriously difficult to impress, albeit for very different reasons.

There are four French films in the Main Competition at this year's Cannes festival, a number that is generally seen as a set figure from year to year. That number can get a bit hazy when it comes to defining either a filmmaker's nationality or shooting locations or funding support, but we can at least count on four, French-born directors every year. There is no ambiguity with Bertrand Bonello's newest film House of Tolerance (L'Apollonide - souvenirs de la maison close), though, as the film was shot near Paris, and Bonello himself was actually born in Nice, a spitting distance from Cannes' shore. His career has stayed pretty closely tied to the festival since then, too; his last three films (out of five total) have all had their world premieres there, and while his film Tiresia was participating in the 2003 Competition - I kid you not - his first daughter was being born.

Flamboyant cult German director, belatedly appreciated
After a long, fallow period in German cinema, there emerged, in the late 1960s, a new wave of directors, including Werner Schroeter, who has died of cancer, aged 65. What separated Schroeter from most of his contemporaries, such as Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Wim Wenders and Werner Herzog, was his almost complete rejection of realism, social and political, and his espousal of high camp.
Schroeter lived by Oscar Wilde's dictum: "Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." His mixture of flamboyant, gender-bending minimalism and stylised melodrama, inspired by 19th-century Italian bel canto opera and the music of German romanticism, often juxtaposed with popular song, blurred the distinction between art and kitsch. His eschewal of conventional narrative made him a marginal figure, but towards the end of his life, with several retropectives at festivals and cinematheques, he gained a wider audience of cinephiles. He kept a faithful,...

I've known about this film for quite some time, and evenwith the great sounding storyline I've sat on the fence with it for months now.. that is until I saw the new trailer. It provides something closer to the pounding incoherent fear which I imagined, caught between both the daily possibility of death and a world which no longer makes sense. Watch the trailer, you'll see what I mean. Nuit de Chien had it's theatrical release just a few days ago in France.
Santamaria train station at night. Ossorio, a forty-year-old man, arrives exhausted with the crowd of refugees and defeated soldiers. He comes back to the city he knew to meet the woman he loves. But everything has changed. A violent militia terrorizes the city. Rival factions oppose. During the ultimate night, everyone tries to save their hide. Hopelessly.
Trailer after the break.
