30 Rock remains one of TV’s most beloved comedy series. It was awarded 16 Emmys in its 7-year stint at NBC. What really set the show apart was both the fast humor and the characters that fans still remember. Developed by Tina Fey and mostly inspired by her own work for Saturday Night Live as a head writer, the show depicted fictional sketches of the working environment of an NBC sketch comedy show.

Exclusive: Iqbal Theba (Green Book) will produce and star in Days with Dandekar, a new indie written and directed by Emmy nominee Leena Pendharkar.

The project marks Theba’s first producing credit and his second collaboration with sister producers Pallavi & Keertana Sastry, on the heels of the drama Land of Gold, which premiered at Tribeca in 2022.

The film tells the story of a man named Dandekar (Theba), who, after getting laid off from his job of over 35 years, goes on an existential journey, searching for the beloved ’87 Volvo that his well-intended family has traded away. The 2nd annual Children’s & Family Emmys got underway on Saturday night, starting with the Children’s & Family Creative Arts Emmys at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. According to early results — pending final tallies — Disney+ and Netflix tied the lead with nine wins overall.

The most honored program of the evening was actually Netflix’s “Lost Ollie,” which scored five trophies. Disney+’s wins included multiple awards for “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” and animated series “Baymax!” Nickelodeon picked up five wins.

And it was also a good night for Disney via its linear Disney Channel, which picked up four wins.

Sometimes, the people who make the biggest difference aren’t the ones who grab the spotlight. In “Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie,” we get to see firsthand how our lovable introvert, Marcie, makes a monumental difference from behind the scenes for both her friends and her community. To train for the school golf championship, Marcie assists Peppermint Patty as her caddie, offering thoughtful and deliberate advice to help her win. Meanwhile, after coming up with brilliant solutions to her classmates’ problems – from hallway traffic jams to lunchtime pizza shortages – Marcie is unexpectedly elected as class president … a role she never wanted.

Suddenly thrust into the spotlight, Marcie struggles to cope with the expectations of her new job and retreats as far from the public eye as possible. As the golf championship begins, Marcie is still in hiding and Peppermint Patty is forced to tee off with Charlie Brown filling in as her caddie.

Back in January, the band Ok Go got involved in a bizarre lawsuit with Post Foods over the right to use the band’s name for a line of instant cereal cups named Ok Go! Now, the two parties have reached a confidential settlement and asked a Minnesota federal judge to dismiss the lawsuit permanently.

According to Billboard, the court filing said the band and the cereal giant had “settled this action on terms agreeable to all parties” without specifying the terms of the agreement in public court records. As such, it’s not clear whether Ok Go will be paid or whether the Ok Go! brand will continue with a different name.

However, the band itself shared a statement on social media reading, “The litigation with Post over the Ok Go trademark was resolved pursuant to a confidential settlement agreement and Post has agreed to withdraw its application to register ‘Ok Go!

Apple TV+ today released the trailer for season two of ‘Harriet the Spy’, based on the iconic children’s novel chronicling the coming-of-age adventures of the irrepressible Harriet M Welsch, premiering on May 5, 2023. Produced by The Jim Henson Company, the animated series stars Golden Globe nominee Beanie Feldstein as Harriet, a fiercely independent and adventurous 11-year-old girl, alongside Emmy Award winner Jane Lynch as Ole Golly, Harriet’s larger-than-life, no-nonsense nanny.

JoJo Siwa and Jack McBrayer have been tapped to host the first annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced.

Siwa will emcee the Children’s & Family Creative Arts Emmy ceremony on Saturday, December 10, while McBrayer will helm the Children’s & Family ceremony on Sunday, December 11. Both events will be held at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.

“I am thrilled to be hosting the first Emmys ceremony specifically created to recognize the important and influential Children’s & Family genre,” the three-time Emy nominee McBrayer said. “It is truly an honor to be celebrating all of the individuals whose wonderful contributions remind us that great television can entertain, educate and bring together people of all ages.”

The 30 Rock alum is not only hosting the event but is nominated for a Children’s & Family Emmy for Outstanding Host for his work on Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show.

Apple TV+ today announced its fall slate for kids and families, featuring original series, new imaginings of properties, as well as returning series.

New original series coming to platform this autumn include “Sago Mini Friends,” an animated series based on characters from the Sago Mini World app; “Slumberkins,” a mixed media puppet / 2D animation program from the children’s emotional learning brand and produced by The Jim Henson Company; “Circuit Breakers” a futuristic anthology series that tackles kid-relatable issues through a sci-fi lens; and “Interrupting Chicken,” an animated preschool series which illuminates the joy of reading, writing, and storytelling, and stars the voice talents three-time Emmy Award winner Sterling K. Brown.

Returning this fall is the Emmy Award-winning series “Ghostwriter,” with an entirely new cast; animated adventure epic “Wolfboy and the Everything Factory”; friendship and farming tale “Get Rolling with Otis”; and Jack McBrayer’s music-forward “Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show.

Apple TV+ is ramping up its slate of kids and family programming for the fall.

The tech giant’s streaming service will debut four new series in the fall and offer up new seasons of five returning shows, including Ghostwriter — with an entirely new cast for its third installment — and Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show. Apple TV+ will also add eight Peanuts specials to its library as part of its partnership with rights holder WildBrain.

The four new series are preschool animated show Sago Mini Friends, based on characters from the Sago Mini World app; Slumberkins, a mix of animation and puppetry from the Jim Henson Company; Interrupting Chicken, based on the award-winning children’s book by David Ezra Stein; and Circuit Breakers, a kid-friendly sci fi show.

Apple TV+ today announced summer premiere dates for a full slate of all-new original series, specials, shorts and returning fan favorites for kids and families.

As part of its family programming slate, Apple will also be rolling out new content and shorts from the legendary “Peanuts” franchise over the summer. Apple TV+ will launch a slate of all-new original kids and family series, specials and shorts, including Peanuts special “Lucy’s School,” the streamer announced Friday.

In “Lucy’s School,” Lucy Van Pelt starts her own school. Additionally, Apple TV+ is adding new episodes of “The Snoopy Show,” and several classic Peanuts titles from Mendelson/Melendez Productions, including “You’re The Greatest, Charlie Brown,” “You’re In Love, Charlie Brown” and “He’s Your Dog, Charlie Brown,” which all debut on August 5.

The summer lineup kicks off on July 8 with animated series “Duck & Goose,” based on the best-selling books by Tad Hills.

Exclusive: Apple TV+ has given a formal 10-episode series order to Surfside Girls, a live-action kids and family series based on the best-selling Top Shelf Productions (Idw Publishing) graphic novel series by author Kim Dwinell. Miya Cech (Rim of the World) and FBI: Most Wanted‘s YaYa Gosselin headline the project, from WGA Award winner May Chan (Avatar: the Last Airbender), Endeavor Content and Idw Entertainment.

Gosselin has been a series regular on CBS’ FBI: Most Wanted since Season 2 having recurred on the show the first season. As she takes on the lead series regular role in Surfside Girls, she will transition back to guest starring/recurring status on FBI: Most Wanted where she will continue in her role as Tali Lacroix.

Surfside Girls is an adventure series about two best friends, Jade (Cech) and Sam (Gosselin), who are psyched to spend their summer riding the waves and catching the rays.
