Preliminary rumblings about a new series called "Revelations" came across our desk as this week wound down, and while it has similarities to "The Walking Dead", there's a slight religious aspect to the show, and instead of a zombie outbreak, there are demons... with a definite agenda.
The story follows a particular two survivors, played by Marlene Mc'Cohen (Vampire Boys, Alice in Murderland) and Cuyle Carvin (Assault of the Sasquatch, Blood Moon), and their attempt to get out of town, find other survivors, and seek some kind of safety - which may or may not exist. The creator of the project is Robert Michael Ryan, co-writer, producer, and co-star of 2009's Necrosis.
The producers have promised a lot more info over the coming weeks so keep it here for updates. In the meantime check out a behind-the-scenes photo of Carvin and Mc'Cohen.

“I don’t want to achieve immortality through my works. I want to achieve it by not dying.” - Woody Allen
Many people would happily sign up for immortality if all they had to do was bite a wayward hooker on the neck every once in awhile. Even then, you’re giving Porsche or Licorice the gift of immortality. However, there’s all the other shit you gotta deal with as a vampire, like having to avoid garlic at all costs (pizza is probably a no-go) and being unable to wander around in the daylight. Then there’s also the holy water, and the wooden stakes, and the crucifixes, all of which can quickly put the kibosh on the whole immortality thing. However, lead vampire boy Jason (who has three vampire boy underlings) doesn’t...

Somebody is killing old people. The weapon of choice: a secret. They are being offed by a masked killer who stalks the halls of the small retirement community in which they live. The story opens with a terrifying murder, creating space on the waiting list for Rose to move in. Upon Rose’s arrival, she is taken on a tour of the grounds by the quirky, offbeat manager: Dale. The odd and brightly colored characters continue to pop up as Fanny, her Jewish gossiping neighbor, introduces Rose to “the gang.” The routine of daily life is all stirred up at the moment. Vampire Boys Vampire Boys, which was released to DVD in March, presented a gay twist on vampire folklore as it blended elements of horror, romance and drama. In Vampire Boys, Jason Lockhart played the leader of a pack of vampires whose time is running out. In order for them to survive, Lockhart's character needs to find a mortal to turn into a vampire to spend eternity with. Enter Caleb (Christian Ferrer), a fresh face college student new to Los Angeles. There is an instant connection between Ferrer and Lockhart. The problem is, time is short and Lockhart needs to convince his new friend Caleb that eternity as a vampire can be a very sweet. Vampire Boys has done respectable DVD sales & rentals and seems to be gaining a cult like following.
Earlier in the week, star Jason Lockhart mentioned on his Facebook page that the idea of a sequel has been put into motion.

The birthing of a film can be a painful process, particularly in the world of independent filmmaking, and while truncated shooting schedules, limited budgets and location challenges conspire at times to create seemingly insurmountable hurdles, nothing proves more daunting for cast and crew alike than being subject to a producer with more mood swings than a 1940’s jazz band.
Such was the case on the set of director Charlie Vaughn’s Blood Mary 3D.
Originally slated to shoot in December of 2010, executive producer Chalmers (who previously produced the Bruce Campbell flicks Man with the Screaming Brain and Alien Apocalypse) made the choice to film Bloody Mary in 3D, with production therefore being delayed until spring while logistics were being hammered out.

A few weeks back we brought you the mind-blowing trailer for the zero budget superhero spoof The Amazing Bulk. While that film still seeks distribution, the filmmaker's next b-movie bonanza already has a trailer. It's not an April Fools Day prank. It's Aliens vs. Avatars, folks!

The Forsaken So right now we're in the Twilight era of vampire movies. Or we had the recent Vampire Boys attempt to mix romance and horror with a gay twist, but come up short due to overall lack of execution. So that got me thinking about the films of the past that I dug. There was Blade which was all about style and cool posing and posturing. Or we had Bram Stoker's Dracula which is just a flat out masterpiece and probably one of my top horror films of all time. Or there is the horror comedy Vamp. Or the criminally under seen The Midnight Hour. Then that got me thinking about the vampire film I have watched the most and that is....

The following trailer is for a movie called Vampire Boys. Here is what the director’s letter to potential investors probably read like. “Greetings, potential investors. I would like you offer you an exciting opportunity to get involved in the movie making business. What we are setting out to do here is revolution the way film is experienced. With our team of actors and presumably non-union crew members, we hope to take all the elements of the Twilight series and reassemble them into a more static, selfconsciously acted hunk of saccharine Gothic gayness. With your help, we can make this a reality.” You’re going to have so much fun realizing this isn’t fake. Thank you again, Videogum.

Gay Twi-hards, prepare to get Twi-hard-ons. Movieline has unveiled the trailer for Vampire Boys, a gem of a flick that, essentially, is just a really gay version of Twilight. There are many, many hilarious things going on in that two minutes, but my favorite has to be at the :49 mark, at which point the skinniest man in the world says with defiance, "I'm a big boy." But what exactly is Vampire Boys, where did it come from, and what does it want from us? After following a link or three, I was led to Ariztical Entertainment, a company that specializes in low-budget Lgbt movies, many of them of the horror genre. Also, they proudly report that they were behind "the first gay male anime to be released on DVD in the U.S.," an admirable feat. So, clearly, these are definitely people who would [...]...

Jason Lockhart Deemed one of the potential breakout stars of the year in the horror genre by this very site, Jason Lockhart is one of the busiest actors this year with a wide variety of projects that are either in pre or post production or just recently released like Vampire Boys. Vampire Boys is a gay romantic horror comedy / drama that's out to push boundaries and open the door for a new type of film to co-exist in the indie film world. Jason Lockhart has a non fussy, awww shucks kind of screen presence that allows for him to relate to viewers as the appealing guy next door as he takes on roles playing the nerd, the lovable goofball or the everyman. However, he hasn't allowed himself to be completely corner stoned by this by playing a brooding bad boy in Mine, a cross between Steven Spielberg's Duel and the 2001 thriller Joy Ride.

The notion of doing a serious minded gay horror romance, was certainly a nice idea. However, the execution is lacking. The horror elements don't have enough menace or terror to them. Not enough care was token to properly make these scenes as effective as they could have been. Scenes of the vampires stalking human prey are rushed and don't amount to much. The suspense that these scenes could have generated is never palpable. Scenes in which the vampire brood is having conflict with one another,...
