Will Smith Rap Return(Photo Credit –Instagram)
Will Smith, once the golden boy of Hollywood and hip-hop’s most family-friendly ambassador, is making a shaky return to the music scene, raising more eyebrows than excitement.
After the infamous Oscars incident in 2022, where he struck Chris Rock and left his reputation in ruins, Smith is now turning up the volume on a different stage. Unfortunately, his return to rap is turning out to be less of a mic drop and more of a thud.

For many years, Will Smith has been one of the most consistent actors in Hollywood, starring in movies ranging from sci-fi to comedy. However, all this was about to change the night he won his first Oscar award for his role in King Richard.
If you can remember, a shiny Oscar wasn’t all that Will Smith strolled out of the awards show with. He also left with a big old controversy that’s been haunting him ever since. You know what I’m talking about, yeah? The infamous Oscar slap.

On “Tantrum,” one of the most visceral moments from Will Smith’s new album, Based on a True Story, the 56-year-old growls, “Oh, y’all forgot I ain’t new with the pen/First hip-hop Grammy, I’ll do it again.” With an album as trite as this one, that’s hard to imagine, but that sort of flex is true to the spirit of the genre he’s helped mold and the type of shit-talking he’s absolutely earned the right to.

Did you know that Will Smith was once a hip-hop star? No? Well, it’s been such a long time that it’s either kind of fading from our memories or it wasn’t even there in the first place.
The good thing is that the ‘Bad Boys’ star has decided to remind us again what the wild ’80’s and ’90’s were like with brand new music.
But music isn’t the only thing we’ll be getting from the Will Smith this time… There’s a tour on the horizon.

There was a time not so long ago when a guest spot on "Law & Order" was a rite of passage for any up-and-coming actor. You could hardly find an actor in the greater New York metropolitan area who didn't have a credit on the popular procedural to their name. Honestly, it makes sense why it would serve as such a great launching pad: Each episode required an entirely new cast of supporting players, often of all ages and backgrounds, creating lots of opportunities for aspiring actors to get some screen time.
While "Law & Order" often had costar roles available, who were basically the leads for that given week, often getting the meatiest material, there were also plenty of "under-five" parts for newbies to cut their teeth on. Like the guy who gets questioned while unloading boxes down at the pier, that kind of thing. So obviously, over the...

Will Smith faced the most infamous moment of his career in March 2022 when, on what was meant to be his night of triumph at the Oscars, he ended up banned by the Academy for slapping Chris Rock.
Three years later, he has used the notorious encounter for fuel on his new album Based on a True Story.
The Guardian newspaper reports that the first words on the album announce that “Will Smith is cancelled,” before the actor starts rapping with lines including “I heard he won the Oscar but he had to give it back.”
Smith won the Best Actor Oscar in 2022 for his role in King Richard, but the headlines were stolen by his altercation with guest presenter Rock. Millions watched as Smith took issue with a joke made by Rock about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith, then the actor walked on stage and slapped Rock before continuing to shout from his seat.

The Academy unanimously decided that Will Smith would be barred from attending any Academy events for a decade. The actor agreed and apologized for his behavior and later released a sit-down apology video for Chris Rock. He also resigned his Academy membership while assuring everyone that he was deeply remorseful for his actions. But now he has released an album addressing the incident, which does not make his apology look good.

Will Smith just released his first album in 20 years — and he has a story to tell, one that includes the infamous Chris Rock Oscars slap, addressing rumors, and more. Based on a True Story is the perfect name for Smith's newly released album, because not only does it serve as a 'this is my truth' moment, but it also gives him a chance to get back to his late '80s and early '90s roots, one that made him a four-time Grammy Award winner.
Released on Friday, March 28, Smith wasted no time getting straight to the point with the opening track, "Int. Barbershop — Day." It opens with the words, "Will Smith is canceled." It's a phrase that was heard everywhere by social media users, people in Hollywood, newscasters, etc. The song features DJ Jazzy Jeff, one of Smith's longtime collaborators and best friends, and social media influencer B. Simone.

On his new album, Based on a True Story, Will Smith is defiant about his infamous Chris Rock Oscars slap, addressing the incident on multiple songs.
The opening track on the project, “Int. Barbershop – Day,” is a skit with a chorus of voices sharing rumors and differing opinions of the actor and rapper, including “Will Smith is canceled” and “I ain’t never gonna forgive him for that shit he did.”
Later on, one voice says, “I heard he won the Oscar, but he had to give it back.” Another chimes in, “And you know they only made him do that shit because he’s Black.”
The song also references Smith’s response at the Oscars to Rock’s joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith: “Him and Jada both crazy girl, what you talking about?/ You better keep his wife’s name out of your mouth.”

On his new album, Based on a True Story, Will Smith addresses slapping Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscars ceremony and suggests that he will never again receive recognition from the Academy as a result of his actions.
“Took a lot, I’m back on top/Y’all gon’ have to get acclimated/Won’t stop, my sh-t still hot/Even though I won’t get nominated,” Smith raps on the track “You Lookin’ for Me?”
While Smith is eligible to receive an Academy Award nomination for his future work, it seems unlikely. During the 2022 Oscars ceremony, where Smith won Best Actor for his performance in King Richard, the actor physically attacked Rock after Rock joked about Jada Pinkett Smith, Smith’s wife. The incident made international headlines, and the Academy eventually suspended Smith from appearing at Academy events for 10 years. The actor also stepped down as a member of the Academy due to his actions.

Smith had preempted the new album with the singles “Beautiful Scars” with Big Sean, “First Love,” You Can Make It,” “Tantrum,” and “Work of Art.” The album comes almost exactly 20 years ago to the day from when Smith released his last album Lost and Found. Kaley Cuoco has been a steady presence on our TV screens for decades at this point, and when one show goes away, it doesn’t take long for her to find a new show to star in. She was in the sitcom 8 Simple Rules, which ran from 2002 to 2005, then moved on to the sitcom The Big Bang Theory, which ran from 2007 to 2019. She followed that with the comedy thriller show The Flight Attendant, 2020 to 2022, and then the dark comedy show Based on a True Story, which aired in 2023 and 2024. Now, Variety reports that she has signed on to star in a mystery thriller series called Vanished, which is scheduled to begin filming on April 28th. Locations will include Paris and Marseilles.

Three years removed from his infamous slap of Chris Rock on stage at the 94th Academy Awards, Will Smith is enjoying a strong comeback to his film and music career as he looks to put the incident behind him. Though the legendary actor remains banned from future Oscar events due to the slap, he doesn't seem too bothered by it publicly.
Speaking about the Oscars ban with the Associated Press, Smith addressed whether he plans to appeal the decision, which prevents him from attending any Academy-related events for the next 10 years. While Smith was coy about any appeal plans, he insisted he's continuing to learn from his mistakes and see where things go. “I am looking to be the best human I can possibly be, and I’m gonna take what I get with that," Smith said.
Smith's largely pristine reputation took its biggest hit when he slapped and cursed out Rock following a G.

The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco has landed her next TV role, starring alongside Sam Claflin in the European mystery series Vanished, where she will be tasked with piecing together clues to solve a missing persons case – and in this case, that missing person is her boyfriend. According to TVLine, the couple's romantic getaway to Paris is derailed when Claflin's character Tom disappears at some point during their train journey to the South of France, leaving Cuoco's Alice to pick up the pieces and attempt to solve the mystery.
If this was Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express (and we certainly hope for Tom's sake it isn't), it sounds like Alice would be the self-appointed Hercule Poirot of the investigation as she desperately tries to establish her partner's whereabouts. Will Smith is known for making audiences laugh, but does he have what it takes to be the butt of a joke? The Bad Boys star could be in line as the latest celebrity to take part in Netflix's live roast. Smith is reportedly among various celebrities that the streaming service is considering, but nothing is set in stone. Netflix declined to comment, but the possibility of the actor being front and center for an old-fashioned roast of a lifetime is not a bad idea.
Not only will the ratings probably be high, as many will tune in to see what fellow comedians, family or even friends have to say about Smith, but it'll also be interesting to see how the actor will react. From the infamous Oscars slap to his relationship with his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, and other things, nothing would be off limits if this were to happen.

This post contains spoilers for Netflix's "Adolescence."
There's a good reason why Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham's four-part Netflix miniseries, "Adolescence," has been making waves since its weekend debut. For starters, series director Philip Barantini has taken a remarkable one-take approach to every episode, creating an astounding, visually interesting tale that brims with urgency. Moreover, the story in question is a bleak one. Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) is suddenly arrested for murder at the start of the series, accused of brutally stabbing a 13-year-old child left to die in a car park. Jamie, who is also 13 years old, is in his space-themed bedroom when the police burst into his house, armed to the teeth. This jarring premise is heightened by Barantini's one-shot take, which leaves no space for taking a breather. As the accusations pile on, Jamie's stunned father, Eddy (Graham), tries to comfort his frightened kid while...

Thank TikTok for this reunion and crossover! On Friday, Will Smith shared a video of himself re-creating an iconic Fresh Prince of Bel-Air scene with co-star Tatyana Ali to the tune of “Anxiety” by Doechii — who also makes an appearance in the video.
The clip, which reimagines a scene from Fresh Prince‘s 1990 pilot episode, sees Smith copying Ali’s dance moves before spotting the actor dancing along. Doechii then comes into the frame to join the dance party. “Waited 35 years for this dance to trend,” joked Smith in the caption.

Like carefully picked posies, Grosse Pointe Garden Society has chosen the cream of the crop to fill out this bouquet of familiar faces from all over the Television spectrum.
But be careful who you pluck. These flowers are more dangerous than meets the eye and might just leave you bleeding.
One thing Grosse Pointe Garden Society has going for it is that it inspires the same feeling of whimsical comedies that are light on the drama but heavy on the killer mysteries.
(Steve Swisher/NBC)
Not only are the characters riddled with layers that keep you guessing who they really are under those forced smiles, but the show itself already hides a mystery in plain sight.

First off, does anyone else think the title is a mouthful? It doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. Let...

Melissa Fumero is in a very familiar place. After winning viewers over as Amy Santiago in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, she's played another detective in the second season of Based on a True Story -- and she's about to dig into a new mystery (literally) in Grosse Pointe Garden Society. Aside from the similar themes, the shows all have one thing in common: they're all on NBC or its streaming service Peacock.
In an interview with Cbr, Fumero spoke about how portraying Drew in Based on a True Story Season 2 was different from her years as fan-favorite Amy. She discussed what it's like working on so many different projects under the same umbrella. Plus, would she return to another hit NBC series and reprise her role as Jasmine on Night Court?

One of my favorite types of movie to watch is the wilderness-set slasher movie, particularly summer camp slashers, with my favorite film franchise being Friday the 13th. I’m always on the lookout for a new summer camp slasher to watch – which is why the trailer for Marshmallow caught my eye. Hemlock Circle Productions will be giving this film a theatrical release on April 11th, and the trailer can be seen in the embed above.
The feature directorial debut of Daniel DelPurgatorio, who co-directed the animated short film Tales of the Black Freighter (which tied in with Zack Snyder’s version of Watchmen), Marshmallow centers on Morgan (played by Kue Lawrence of The Amityville Murders), an introverted 12-year-old suffering from nightmares who heads to a secluded summer camp. Morgan realizes that a spooky campfire story about the camp has come to life as a mysterious figure starts to stalk the campers,...

Will Smith recently opened up about two eerie moments from his past that still haunt him. During a conversation, the actor and musician reflected on how he unknowingly spoke to two legendary figures in the music industry just hours before their untimely deaths. At the time, he had no idea those conversations would be their last, but looking back, he admits the experience left him shaken.
The actor has spent decades in the entertainment industry and has met countless celebrities and icons throughout his career. But these two encounters stood out for a much darker reason.

Hollywood has seen a lot of actors with failed marriages, and Guy Pearce’s is yet another name on the list. Tying the knot back in 1997, the now-57-year-old actor, with hits like Memento (2000), The Brutalist (2024), and L.A. Confidential (1997) on his resume, he found himself and his wife, Kate Mestitz, undergoing a divorce around 18 years later.

But throughout the time that they were together, the actor could sincerely admit that she was “the greatest love of my life,” as he recently claimed, years after their divorce. In fact, the Marvel actor had gone through so much in his life with his ex-wife and ostensibly found such a comfortable and safe place with her that he even let out his Kevin Spacey fears to her.
