NBCUniversal is kicking off Emmy Awards season by bringing its stars together in one room!

The entertainment company hosted an Emmy season kick-off luncheon on Friday afternoon (April 11) at the Sls Hotel in Los Angeles.

The annual event celebrated the talent behind NBCUniversal’s Emmy-eligible shows. This includes shows and movies on NBC and Peacock, as well as shows that Universal Content Productions has made for other streamers, like Netflix’s A Man on the Inside and Max’s Hacks.

Some of the talent in attendance included Renee Zellweger, Amanda Seyfried, Natasha Lyonne, Tina Fey, Colman Domingo, Aja Naomi King, and AnnaSophia Robb, among others.

Emmy nominations will be announced on July 15 and the ceremony will be hosted on September 14.

Smith had preempted the new album with the singles “Beautiful Scars” with Big Sean, “First Love,” You Can Make It,” “Tantrum,” and “Work of Art.” The album comes almost exactly 20 years ago to the day from when Smith released his last album Lost and Found. Based On a True Story reunited Smith with DJ Jazzy Jeff and also features collaborations with Teyana Taylor, Joyner Lucas and Smith’s son Jaden Smith. Speaking about the Oscars ban with the Associated Press, Smith addressed whether he plans to appeal the decision, which prevents him from attending any Academy-related events for the next 10 years. While Smith was coy about any appeal plans, he insisted he's continuing to learn from his mistakes and see where things go. “I am looking to be the best human I can possibly be, and I’m gonna take what I get with that," Smith said.

According to Deadline, the Based on a True Story actor will lead the forthcoming suspense drama series, which AGC Television is launching sales for this week at Series Mania in Lille. Also attached to the television project are The Hunger Games alum Sam Claflin, three-time Cesar winner Karin Viard, and Army of the Dead star Matthias Schweighöfer. Filming on Vanished is set to begin at the end of April in Paris and Marseilles with Barnaby Thompson in the director's chair.

Will Smith is known for making audiences laugh, but does he have what it takes to be the butt of a joke? The Bad Boys star could be in line as the latest celebrity to take part in Netflix's live roast. Smith is reportedly among various celebrities that the streaming service is considering, but nothing is set in stone. Will Smith is making a comeback — not only to film, but to music. On Friday, March 14, the Oscar winner revealed the cover art and release date to his new album, Based on a True Story. Though Smith began his career as a rapper under the alias, “The Fresh Prince,” he hasn’t put out an album since 2005’s Lost and Found, which featured the hit single, “Switch.” With Based on a True story marking his first album in 20 years, Smith hasn’t lost a beat, and he’s been keeping his ear to the streets.

The Oscar-winning actor and Grammy-winning artist has announced that his new album Based on a True Story will be released on March 28.

The album features the previously released singles “First Love,” “Beautiful Scars,” “Tantrum,” “Work of Art,” and “You Can Make It,” plus collaborators like DJ Jazzy Jeff, Teyana Taylor, and Big Sean, among others.

There will be 14 tracks on the album and the full tracklist has been revealed. You can get the album on iTunes when it is released.

Thank TikTok for this reunion and crossover! On Friday, Will Smith shared a video of himself re-creating an iconic Fresh Prince of Bel-Air scene with co-star Tatyana Ali to the tune of “Anxiety” by Doechii — who also makes an appearance in the video.

The clip, which reimagines a scene from Fresh Prince‘s 1990 pilot episode, sees Smith copying Ali’s dance moves before spotting the actor dancing along. Doechii then comes into the frame to join the dance party. “Waited 35 years for this dance to trend,” joked Smith in the caption.

“Elle,” the “Legally Blonde” prequel series, has found Elle’s mom.

June Diane Raphael has joined the Amazon Prime Video project as Eva, joining the previously announced Lexi Minetree as Elle. The series follows a younger Elle Woods, who was played by Reese Witherspoon in the two “Legally Blonde” films, finding her footing in high school.

“Elle” is created by Laura Kittrell, who is an executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Caroline Dries. Witherspoon is executive producing the show through her Hello Sunshine banner, alongside Lauren Neustadter and Marc Platt. The first two episodes will be directed by Jason Moore. “Elle” is produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios.

The original 2001 “Legally Blonde” film was a box office success, grossing over $140 million worldwide. Its sequel, “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde,” was released in 2003. A direct-to-video third film came out in 2009, which Witherspoon produced but did not star in.

Exclusive: June Diane Raphael has been tapped as a lead opposite Lexi Minetree in Elle, Prime Video’s upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series executive produced by the film franchise’s star Reese Witherspoon.

Created by Laura Kittrell, Elle follows Elle Woods (Minetree) in high school.

Raphael will play Elle’s mom and role model, Eva, who is polished, pragmatic and thrives on keeping things picture-perfect.

In the movies, the role was small and played by Tane McClure as Elle’s mom and dad both tried to dissuade her from going to Harvard.

Kittrell and Caroline Dries serve as co-showrunners. They executive produce with Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter of Hello Sunshine and the films’ producer Marc Platt. Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is directing the first two episodes. Elle is produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios.
