Move over Bollywood, India’s animated heroes are taking center stage.

Warner Bros. Discovery is significantly ramping up its kids entertainment offering in India, with the media giant set to deliver 200 half-hours of fresh content across its three children’s channels in Q2 alone.

The company’s kids entertainment cluster, comprising Pogo, Cartoon Network and Discovery Kids, will introduce a slate of new content that includes 71 half-hours of new premieres on Pogo, focusing heavily on homegrown Indian IPs like “Chhota Bheem,” “Little Singham” and “Jay Jagannath.” The remit of Arjun Nohwar, general manager for India and South Asia, extends across the region with cross-border cultural similarities including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan.

“We are looking for stories that resonate across South Asia,” Nohwar tells Variety. “One thing that we’ve started seeing is that some of these franchises and shows that we make will resonate with the Indian diaspora across the world.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the winners for its third annual Children's & Family Emmy Awards. The event took place March 15 at Television City in Los Angeles and streamed live on TheEmmys.TV app.

Meryl Streep (Storyline Online) won the award for Best Children's Personality, after previously taking home three Primetime Emmys for Holocaust (1978), Angels in America (2004), and Five Came Back (2017). Star Robert Pattinson shared an enticing (but brief) update on the highly anticipated superhero project, telling Extra that he finally knows what the film is about and that he can’t wait to wear the cape and mask again. Writer Matt Reeves, however, is doing a great job of cloaking any spoiler-y details.

“I know what it’s about now,” Pattinson said. “Matt [Reeves] is a very careful writer, but I finally now know what it’s about. It’s very cool and I’m very excited.”

The Marvel actress who played Miss Minutes in Loki turned 52 on February 13, Thursday. Tara Strong, the Canadian actress, is known for her voice roles in the industry and has voiced Raven in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!. Strong was at the center of controversy in October 2023, when she was fired from her show Boxtown for her controversial political statements.

Teen Titans Go! may have its fans, but Max seemingly isn't one of them. The streamer got a head start on spring cleaning by kicking off 2025 with a content purge.

Per ComicBook.com, Max has removed the first seven seasons of Teen Titans Go! from its platform. Additionally, the original Teen Titans series which aired for five seasons and 65 episodes from 2003 to 2006 is no longer available to stream. The only silver lining is that Season 8 of Teen Titans Go! is still accessible to fans on Max. The eighth (and current) season of the fan-favorite DC animated series premiered in October 2022 and aired its most recent episode, the two-part "Four Hundred," on Nov. 30, 2024.

Raven has long been a fan-favorite character across all iterations of the Titans, despite often undergoing significant changes from medium to medium. Now, however, fresh developments suggest that DC is ready to make some elements from the Teen Titans! (2003) animated series canon, bringing more cohesion to Raven's character across various platforms.

Tensions run high in Titans (2023) #18 - written by John Layman, with art by Pete Woods – as the Titans are forced out of their tower in Blüdhaven and must go underground. Raven, normally stoic and controlled, reacts especially poorly to the change, snapping at her teammates in a rage and later being overcome by fear and violence in a firefight.

Beast Boy explains that "[Raven]'s personality was split into different pieces for months on end during the whole Dark-Winged Queen stuff," a plot detail that echoes the plot of the popular Teen Titans! episode, "Nevermore.

According to THR, visitors to CartoonNetwork.com are now met with a popup encouraging them to subscribe to Max, Warner Bros. Discovery’s flagship streaming service. The message reads, “Looking for episodes of your favorite Cartoon Network shows? Check out what’s available to stream on Max (subscription required).” After dismissing the popup, users are redirected to the Cartoon Network page on Max, signaling a clear shift toward making the streamer the primary hub for Cartoon Network programming. The network, known for iconic shows like The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Teen Titans Go!, will remain a cornerstone of children’s programming despite the digital shift.

Following an initial online rumor, we got confirmation that a live-action Teen Titans movie was in the works at DC Studios back in March with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow writer Ana Nogueira enlisted to pen the script.

Updates have been few and far between since, but a recent Production Weekly logline did claim to reveal the key team members: "The Teen Titans are further apart than ever before… until Damian Wayne recruits Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and the new Kid Flash to join him in a fight against his own grandfather, Ra’s al Ghul."

However, we'd later hear that the movie will focus on a "pre-existing team being revived," which suggested that the roster would more likely consist of the original '60s comic book line-up: Kid Flash (Wally West), Robin (Dick Grayson), Aqualad (Garth) and Wonder Girl (Donna Troy).

As co-president of DC Studios, James Gunn has (to borrow from the competition) great power and great responsibility. As DC fan, I appreciate that he's doing his part to boost the company's comic books. So many other superhero movie writers treat the comics as only raw material, but Gunn's got real passion for them.

You can see that earnest love in how deep he pulls from the comics. At Marvel Studios, Gunn elevated the Guardians of the Galaxy into the mainstream and made his fave Rocket Raccoon a household name. Gunn's "The Suicide Squad" was similarly filled with deep cuts from DC comic books. No one else would make a blockbuster starring characters like Peacemaker (John Cena), Ratcatcher (Daniela Melchior), and Polka-Dot Man.

Variety is reporting that a Clayface movie is officially moving forward at DC Studios, with Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep; The Fall of the House of Usher; Midnight Mass) attached to write the screenplay. 

Flanagan and Trevor Macy, his partner at Intrepid Pictures, pitched the potential film to James Gunn and Peter Safran over a year ago, and it looks like the idea won over the new DC bosses as they've issued a formal greenlight.

Plot details remain under wraps, but what we do know is that Clayface won't be a villain in the feature, which makes sense considering that back in 2021, Flanagan, when asked which DC movie he'd like to make, said, "Well I've wanted to do a Superman movie since I was a kid, but I would also be really keen to do a standalone Clayface movie as a horror/thriller/tragedy."

There are few things millennials enjoy more than taking a trip down memory lane. You know, the good old days! One of the best ways to do this is by rewatching our favorite animated favorites such as Static Shock and Teen Titans, aka our Saturday morning cartoon lineup!

If there's one thing a slasher movie franchise needs, it's an instantly recognizable slasher. "Halloween" has Michael Myers, "A Nightmare on Elm Street" has Freddy Krueger (inseparable from actor Robert Englund), "Friday the 13th" has Jason Voorhees, and "Scream" has Ghostface. Unlike the other slashers, though, Ghostface is a mantle, not a single person.

It's been nearly two decades since Teen Titans Season 5 concluded on a heartbreaking cliffhanger, but fans are still hungry to see the story's resolution. Since 2013, the series' comedic spin-off Teen Titans Go! has been dominating the airwaves on Cartoon Network and providing fans with plenty of laughs. Still, the loose threads of the original animated series remain. According to prolific actress Tara Strong — who voiced Raven in the original Teen Titans and continues to do so in Teen Titans Go! — a sixth season is still something the cast would love to explore.

Teen Titans Go! has just debuted its 400th episode and is celebrating becoming the longest-running DC animated series of all time. We recently got the opportunity to sit down and talk with Raven voice actress Tara Strong, who reflected on the long journey to this point and shared some thoughts on the series' future.

At this point, Teen Titans Go! looks like it could go on forever. As Tara Strong jokes, "... in our minds, we're gonna get to episode 10,000." Sure, the actress is only kidding, but she still thinks about what episode 500 might look like. Strong speculated: "Maybe there's an on-camera mix. Maybe we Roger Rabbit that stuff, you know?" She continued, "I'll suit up. Everybody will suit up. Everybody."

Teen Titans Go! might not be the first series that comes to mind when most comic book fans are asked to name the longest-running DC animated series of all time — a point brought up in the recently aired and hilariously meta 400th episode — but it currently is. The wacky series' longevity is a testament to its always-hilarious writing and performances, as well as its dedicated fandom, according to Raven voice actress Tara Strong, who graciously sat down to chat with us in the lead-up to the show's incredible milestone.

I started in 'Batman' in my 20s. Like, of every show I've done, 'Teen Titans Go!' is the longest running DC animated show. It's amazing, and a testament to the fans too. We had so much fun.

Ahead of the 400th episode of Teen Titans Go!, the show's cast and showrunner spoke with The Direct and took a look back at the impact of the long-running DC series after all these years.

Seven years after the fifth and final season of the original, more serious (but still family-friendly) Teen Titans animated series ended with an unresolved cliffhanger, the show saw a complete reboot in 2013.

It became the now eight-season-long Teen Titans Go!, an irreverent, satirical series on Cartoon Network. The reboot brought back all five members of the original cast, but otherwise looked starkly different from its previous iteration.

Teen Titans Go! is a comedic take on DC's Titans, which follows Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy as they do their best to stop crime, but often end up just finding themselves in trouble. It is hard to take them seriously, which is the fun of it all. The series debuted more than ten years ago, in 2013, has a feature film, and is celebrating its 400th episode soon.

This episode sees the Titans in stop-motion animation for the first time ever, as they celebrate being the longest-running DC animated series. The all-star cast all have other incredible projects they are a part of. However, they have created a true family with each other, which is incredible to witness. Cartoon Network will be playing all episodes of Teen Titans Go! ahead of the 400th episode premiere on November 30.

The show is set to continue with the upcoming Rick and Morty season 8, which premieres in 2025.

At New York Comic Con, Rick and Morty executive producers Dan Harmon and Scott Marder revealed that the show had been renewed by Adult Swim for seasons 11 and 12. This is in addition to the season 9 and 10 renewals that were already set. With four additional seasons set to premiere after the upcoming season 8, this means that the animated show will run until at least 2029. Despite the large role the Teen Titans played in DC animation in the 2000s, any fans of that era will likely have a hard time recognizing Beast Boy now, especially in the comics. In both the Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go! cartoons, Beast Boy played the comic relief role, bringing humor and hijinks to the darkest scenarios. Now, however, Beast Boy is unwillingly vying for the role of most tragic hero in the DC Universe.

If you're a fan of DC Comics, the past few years have probably been pretty tough for you. A merger at Warner Bros. led to the cancellation of a slew of movies and TV shows set within their cinematic universe, and new owners at The CW also resulted in the cancellations of multiple DC TV shows that had been dominating the network for the past decade.

11 years after it premiered, Teen Titans Go! is still going strong on Cartoon Network. Per President of Cartoon Network Studios Sam Register, the comedy has "no end in sight," even after eight seasons and a theatrical film. Now sitting at 397 episodes, Teen Titans Go! is DC's longest-running series by a mile. With such a high episode count and production still ongoing, the controversial hit is likely to hang onto that crown indefinitely.

It's Unlikely Another DC Show Will Have As Many Episodes As Teen Titans Go!

The galaxy far, far away is expanding with the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, a coming-of-age story about a ragtag group of kids that team up with a mysterious character played by Jude Law. Helmed by Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Skeleton Crew adds a new member to the supporting cast, this time an actor who played a major role in a lot of people's childhoods. Jaleel White, who famously played Steve Urkel on Family Matters, is set to join the streaming project as one of its space baddies.

Entertainment Weekly released brand-new images from the upcoming Star Wars show, revealing Jaleel White will be playing Gunter, who is part of a space pirate crew that also includes Vane (Marti Matulis), Brutus, Pax (Mike Estes), and Chaelt (Dale Soules). The image does not paint them in a positive light, as they will seemingly act as some of the show's villains.

For many, sitting in front of the TV and watching cartoons has been their favorite pastime growing up. There is something enigmatic about the colorful characters contorting their anatomical features to the fullest for slapstick humor that brings a bundle of laughter into the living room. The official Cartoon Network website has been shut down, and it will now redirect any visitors at cartoonnetwork.com to a landing page at the company's subscription streaming service Max asking viewers to subscribe to watch their favorite animated shows. The site was once a way to check out full episodes and clips of shows like Adventure Time, Teen Titans Go!, and The Amazing World of Gumball and play free games based on those series and more. It was apparently taken offline on Thursday.
