Ultimately a Disappointment
The Plot: Two highly trained operatives are appointed to posts in guard towers on opposite sides of a vast and highly classified gorge, protecting the world from an undisclosed, mysterious evil that lurks within. They bond from a distance while trying to stay vigilant in defending against an unseen enemy. When the cataclysmic threat to humanity is revealed to them, they must work together in a test of both their physical and mental strength to keep the secret in the gorge before it's too late.
The trailer for this movie pretty much keeps you in the dark regarding the plot. You only see the barest minimum and are completely surprised early on with what unfolds.
In fact, the film starts off strongly in my book. It's intriguing and had me riveted to the screen. But them Levi falls into the gorge and the movie fall apart. There are plot holes all over the place like a piece of swiss cheese. Who's minding the gorge while he's down there? Couldn't whatever is there escape?
And to further schmalz up the plot, they turn this into a love story. It truly got ridiculous. Very disappointing. A better second half could have turned this into a really good movie.
