The other side of football
In a recent article in a Dutch newspaper it was already started: we wish to believe in the honesty of football, same as we wish to believe that Papa Noël exists. Spoiler: both are a fairy tale.
This movie shows the struggles of a young player, the temptation of a pro-contract, a short jealousy when a teammate gets a contract, the others not (yet?). You can argue on the twists in the movie, the dreams, struggle and family responsibility of the 18 year young talent are credible shown.
A remarkable moment, off topic, is when the hotel cleaning ladies meet with their guests in a high class Monaco hotel. The ladies envy the guest, stating that they are in the daily pressure cooker. The guest replies (and the viewer knows why), 'so am I, we all are".
I enjoyed this movie.
