The Pink Panther battles a super termite. That's the story in this entertaining cartoon which first shows us a pretty rural scene with a log cabin out in the middle of the woods. It's the Panther's home (today). We then see a little termite jump into a log outside the house. The PP brings the log in, puts it and another log in the fireplace and the termite jumps out. It runs out of the house and cools itself off in the lake. Now, the little creature, who sounds like a buzz saw, is back inside the house with a vengeance and goes to work. It doesn't take the Panther long to see the problem on his hands as the little bug quickly eats chairs, tables, anything out of wood.
I've seen the same kind of story in an old Popeye cartoon, in which termites (plural, in that story) totally demolishes Popeye's house. This is a bit different in that it's just one termite and this guy slowly torments his victim. Both cartoons were fun to watch.
I like this version better because (1) the noise the little bug made as he hopped around was very funny; (2) there were more inventive ideas in this one (drilling mouse holes, falling bath tubs, etc.); (3) this one had a bizarre ending.
Either way, you can't go wrong with a cartoon featuring a termite!
