Me, Earl and the Dying girl definitely has the feel of an indie movie. It's a comically dark story with a cast of mostly unknown actors playing a variety of quirky characters. It almost feels like a Wes Anderson movie. This film deals with loss in a very relatable way, but the constant shifting from humorous to melodramatic feels uneven. It's almost as if this movie is an adolescent, trying to find its way in the cinematic world.
