I'm not particularly a Ricky Gervais fan, but I enjoyed one of his other stand up shows, so thought I'd give this one a go.
I'm sorry to say, this was just awful!! I didn't laugh once!
I know that his style is to be arrogant, and to be offensive to everyone, but I just didn't find it funny.
Laughing at his own un-funny jokes, repeating himself over and over during certain sections, and just being really vulgar, all the way through.
I found the bit about M. E. sufferers being a bit "tired" (in a lazy way) incredibly offensive. I wouldn't have minded if, say, he'd done some fund raising for M. E. Research or similar, but I know he hasn't. I am a 56 Yr old ex-Mountain Guide, and have since lost 26 years of my life to M. E. It's one of the cruelest illnesses out there, devastates millions of lives, and can be fatal.
Give me Michael McIntyre and Sebastian Maniscalco any day.
