T.S. Nowlin is writing the new draft of Zelda. The Maze Runner: The Death Cure ending brings the trilogy of dystopian YA movies based on James Dashner's novels to a close, though it wasn't always obvious how the various plot threads running through the franchise connected for the finale. Even though the Maze Runner 3 ending explained a lot, it also left behind several questions. The Death Cure is the third and final installment in 20th Century's Maze Runner movie franchise. It follows 2014’s first film and the 2015 sequel Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, wrapping up the stories of Thomas, Newt, and Minho, and their fight against Wckd.
The third movie in the series, based on James Dashner's 2011 novel The Death Cure, arrived in 2018. While the final movie tied up several plot threads, the Maze Runner ending still warrants further explanation, as some of the conclusions in its multi-layered story aren't quite clear on first viewing. Jacob Lofland is ready to reflect on his time with the Maze Runner movies. Inspired by James Dashner's book, the movie came on the heels of other major Young Adult hits, including The Hunger Games (2012). Maze Runner's expansive cast included Dylan O'Brien (Teen Wolf), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones), and more. The movie easily succeeded in theaters, earning nearly $350 million on a $30 million budget. Both follow-ups also received box office success, even if none were ever dominant.
With word of a franchise reboot in development, the future of the franchise seems as bright as ever. Speaking with Screen Rant's Grant Hermanns about Landman, Lofland addressed the coming reboot. He had not heard about the reboot's development before the interview, but he did reflect positively on his time with the cast. Check out his quote below:

Of all the Batman villains that have yet to be adapted into a live-action movie, Clayface presents some of the most interesting potential for casting. The villain Clayface has been rumored to appear as the villain of Matt Reeves' The Batman - Part II, though his monstrous appearance and impressive superpowers might make him a better fit for the Dcu continuity in Batman: The Brave and the Bold. In the comics, Clayface has a variety of origins, most of which involve a failed actor whose body becomes transformed into a mutant sludge monster.
There are several directions a live-action version of Clayface could go in. Obviously, actors experienced in motion-capture work could do wonders for the character, able to effectively provide frame data for a terrifying CGI appearance. However, other casting choices could lean into Clayface's origins as an actor, emphasizing his ability to shapeshift into different people rather than...

The Planet of the Apes welcomed its tenth movie in the franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, one of this year's biggest summer blockbusters. After three consistent movies following Caesar's uprising, director Matt Reeves passed the baton to Wes Ball as Planet of the Apes became a Disney property. The movie is Ball's first directorial project since 2018 when he directed the last installment of The Maze Runner trilogy. While The Maze Runner movies were swept under the rug at their time of release, they're a fond memory to look back on.
As far as young adult (YA) dystopian franchises go, The Maze Runner had it all. Young teens were rebelling against an oppressive system, touching character relationships, careful world-building, and even zombies. It really can't get much better than that. Unfortunately, despite being a box office success, the trilogy never found its footing since it was released at the wrong time.

Last month, non-profit group Good Energy launched what it called a Bechdel Test for Climate Change, a simple set of criteria designed to determine if it was clear climate change was present in a film. The real Allison Bechdel even endorsed it.
As part of the “Climate Reality Check,” just three movies nominated for Oscars this year passed the test’s two simple rules: “Climate change exists” and “a character knows it.” Now a more extensive study published by Good Energy and Colby College’s Buck Lab for Climate and Environment has analyzed 250 of the top grossing movies between 2013 and 2022 under the same criteria.
Global warming has been with us for a while now, but only 12.8 percent — 32 of the 250 films studied in that time span — even passed the first criteria saying that climate change exists. Only 24 films, or 9.6 percent, passed both criteria of the test.

During the 2010s, there was a huge spike in YA dystopian books getting film and television adaptations, and among them was James Dashner's Maze Runner series. Audiences could not get enough of the end-of-the-world genre, and more specifically, because of the young protagonists, teenagers felt as if they had finally been given a voice in a more "adult" setting.
In these works, a governing body or an elite organization is always trying to mask horrible situations with false promises to civilians who are not privy to what is going on behind the scenes. However, an ambitious teenager emerges and convinces a group that they have to stand up for what is right, even if that means risking one's life.

The Maze Runner trilogy, led by Dylan O'Brien as Thomas, offers a unique take on survival in a post-apocalyptic world. The first Maze Runner film set a strong foundation for the franchise with its simple story and compelling characters. Right around when The Hunger Games ignited a race in Hollywood to produce the next big young adult dystopian action franchise, 20th Century Fox was already in the midst of bringing James Dashner's novels to the big screen. The Maze Runner featured an impressive cast of talented actors, including some of the faces of the franchise — Dylan O'Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Kaya Scodelario. The 2014 movie was a part of a new wave of dystopian movie franchises in the early 2010s. The supporting cast of The Maze Runner also had notable careers, with actors like Aml Ameen, Ki Hong Lee, and Will Poulter.
The Maze Runner tells the story of Thomas, Newt, and their friends as they attempt to escape from a complex maze after waking up with no memories — and the movie has a talented cast filled with recognizable faces that bring these characters to life. Amazon MGM‘s Play Dirty is ready to announce its female lead for director Shane Black’s upcoming film. Joining Mark Wahlberg for Black’s crime thriller is Rosa Salazar. Lakeith Stanfield also stars, with a script written by Black, Anthony Bagarozzi, and Chuck Mondry.
According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, Play Dirty focuses on the “professional thief Parker (Wahlberg), who, after being double-crossed and left for dead, sees his hunt for revenge bring with it a shot at the biggest heist of his career. But even with the help of his partner, actor-slash-con artist Grofield (Stanfield), he’ll still need to outsmart a South American dictator, the New York mob, and the world’s richest man if he hopes to stay alive.”
Rosa Salazar’s Play Dirty role remains a mystery. However, the film is inspired by Donald E Westlake’s Parker crime novels, written under the pseudonym Richard Stark.

Throwing a bunch of teenagers into some sort of Gladiator-style arena is the pinnacle of young adult dystopian fiction, executed to perfection in franchises like "The Hunger Games." While "The Maze Runner" films also follow the same principle, the worldbuilding here is markedly different, woven deftly with interesting characters and plot developments that make it such an intriguing premise. With three movies that map the trajectory of such a grim world and its inhabitants, "The Maze Runner" emerges as a staple for those who wish to immerse themselves in its labyrinthine action and fantastical setting.
As "The Maze Runner" films are rather overlooked, at least in comparison to blockbuster offerings within the same genre, it can be a bit confusing for casual fans to denote its viewing order. Moreover, things get more complicated once we venture into its sprawling source material — James Dashner's "Maze Runner" novels extend beyond its theatrical counterparts,...

How much sympathy do average working people have for Hollywood actors? Not much, I suspect. Fancy trailers, high-end catering, and eye-watering salaries are not the hallmarks of a tough gig. However, it's not all luxury and dollar signs, especially in the extravagant science fiction genre. On-set accidents have injured performers such as Charlize Theron, who was nearly paralyzed while making "Æon Flux," and Carrie-Ann Moss, whose botched cartwheel in "The Matrix" caused a nasty ankle injury
Such incidents remind us of why stunt people are needed to protect a production's cast and crew from accidents and injuries. But what about the threat of illness? Who is responsible for that and what danger does it pose to a multi-million dollar project with a tight schedule and a tighter budget? Well, a lesser danger than injury, it seems, but there is still a precedent for actorly illnesses -- and the causes range...

Joker 2 composer calls the decision to make the comic book movie sequel as a musical both logical and surprising. Dcu fans were certainly surprised when they found out that Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker follow-up would be done as a full-on musical. And in another surprising move, Joker: Folie à Deux (as it’s officially known) will pair Phoenix with pop superstar Lady Gaga in the role of Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn.
Most everything that’s been revealed about Joker 2 thus far has frankly led to a lot of head-scratching by fans.

The actress, best known for her role as demon-hunter Clary Fray in Freeform fantasy drama "Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments," plays a character named Hannah in 'Replicate,' a sci-fi feature directed by John Murlowski.
Starring Calum Worthy ("American Vandal"), Joel Courtney ('Super 8'), and Andi Matichak ('Halloween'), the film follows three friends making a web series about their town who discover that their neighbors are being killed and replaced by creatures who are perfect copies of their victims. The movie was shot in October 2015 and a release date has yet to be set, but McNamara's involvement has just been revealed.
McNamara and her "Shadowhunters" co-stars were in the spotlight this week as Freeform announced it will end the show (based on Cassandra Clare’s popular book YA series "The Mortal Instruments") after its third season, ordering two extra episodes that will wrap the story in spring 2019.
The actress is also known for her role as Sonya in another YA franchise: 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' and 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure.'...
