A Working Man Trailer Reunites Jason Statham With The Beekeeper Director For More High-Octane Action

Jason Statham, not one to spend a lot of time not kicking ass, is back with another ass-kicking action flick. Amazon MGM has released the first trailer for "A Working Man," which was previously going under the title of "Levon's Trade." The big appeal here is that Statham has reunited with director David Ayer, who was at the helm of last year's actioner "The Beekeeper." Apparently, that collaboration went well, as evidenced by this reunion. Check out the trailer above.
"A Working Man" is based on the book "Levon's Trade" by author Chuck Dixon. Not to get too ahead of ourselves here, but this is also just the first book in a series of Levon Cade books, meaning we could be looking at a franchise here, if all goes well. It's not unlike Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" books, which...

Othello, one of the greatest tragedy tales by William Shakespeare, is all set to return to the stages once again through Broadway. Set in Venice and Cyprus, it is widely regarded among the mastermind author’s major tragedies as it brings about the titular Moorish military commander’s story as he is manipulated by his ensign, Iago, into suspecting his wife Desdemona of infidelity.
Of course, as famous as it is, there have been innumerable other iterations of this play over the years. Multiple different star-studded actors have joined the cast of the same, and given epic performances that they continue to be renowned for. And now that Broadway is reviving the saga, a cast of critically applauded actors has once again united to give the performance of a lifetime.

Samara Weaving's success in horror movies like The Babysitter and Ready Or Not cements her as a contemporary scream queen. Weaving's return to supernatural horror in Azrael after a break showcases her range and dedication to the genre. Fans eagerly await news of a potential sequel to Ready Or Not, building on the success and acclaim of the original film.
Although Azrael looks like a fun showcase for star Samara Weaving, its trailer has just reminded me how much I want to see a follow-up to 2019s Ready Or Not. Samara Weaving has an impressive career, with some of the stars biggest hits being horror movies. Ash Vs Evil Dead gave Weaving an early minor role, but it was 2017s The Babysitter that made her a star. Weaving dominated that horror-comedy as the titular babysitter, a murderous monster who managed to be both funny and appealing while also convincing as a demonic villain.

Exclusive: Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer is bulking up its Season 3 cast with 4 new actors joining the fold: Merrin Dungey, Allyn Moriyon, John Pirruccello and Philip Anthony-Rodriguez.
They join returning stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, Becki Newton as Lorna, Jazz Raycole as Izzy, Angus Sampson as Cisco and Yaya DaCosta as Andrea Freemann. The recurring cast also includes Neve Campbell, Elliott Gould, Krista Warner, Fiona Rene and Devon Graye.
Dungey will portray Judge Regina Turner, a former public defender who is younger and more progressive than most judges in the district, but whether that’s a benefit to Mickey or not remains to be seen. Moriyon plays Eddie Rojas, a fitness buff who needs a very good lawyer. Luckily, Mickey can help him and then offers him the opportunity of a lifetime. Hulu's best rom-coms combine classic tropes with fresh storytelling to create enjoyable movies. The chemistry between the main cast is crucial for a good romantic comedy. Hulu offers a mix of classic and newer rom-coms, giving viewers a variety of options to choose from.
Romantic comedies are often dismissed as a genre as a whole for being cheesy, but there are plenty of romantic comedies that can take classic tropes, combine them with stellar performances, and end up with great movies, which is exactly what the best rom-coms on Hulu are able to do. Hulu offers a variety of romantic movies, and while a lot of the offerings on the streamer lean more toward the dramatic end of the genre, there is still a rom-com for everyone.

Annette Bening, who recently starred in Netflix’s biopic “Nyad,” will receive a special Golden Medallion tribute award from the Telluride Film Festival on Jan. 6, 2024. Meg Ryan will present the award to her at Netflix’s Tudum Theater in Los Angeles. The event will also feature a conversation focused on her career trajectory, which Bening’s “Nyad” co-star Jodie Foster will moderate.
Due to the actors strike, Bening was unable to accept the honor at the Telluride Film Festival in September, marking the first time Telluride has presented an honor outside of the dates of the festival. Previous Golden Medallion recipients include Cate Blanchett, Anthony Hopkins and Kate Winslet.
Bening was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for portraying Diana Nyad. She has also received Oscar nominations for “The Grifters,” “American Beauty,” “Being Julia” and “The Kids Are All Right.”

It wasn’t their job, until they made it their job.
That’s the surprisingly innovative ethos behind Lionsgate’s Production Inclusion Coalition program, started by a group of physical and postproduction staffers during the early months of the pandemic. Pic includes a growing number of tangible action plans to widen and diversify the industry pipelines for both entry-level and experienced talent from historically excluded backgrounds and geographic regions outside Hollywood.
“Where we started was how we could change the visibility of everybody on set first, starting with our productions,” Jamie Clevenger, vice president of physical production for the motion picture group, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “We wanted to start at the bottom with the PAs and grow careers but also get new names and faces in front of our team members on the department head level as well, so we tried to tackle it from the top and the bottom at the same time.

I think everybody’s just trying not to fall apart in some form,” says alt-soul singer Joesef with a nervous laugh. “It’s just who can hide it the best.” We’re sat on two ends of a giant sofa in his PR’s office in London, comparing stories on the qualms of “adulting”. The 27-year-old moved to the capital from Glasgow in 2021, but still romanticises the city in which he grew up. “There’s a certain level of togetherness that’s very palpable there,” he says in a thick Scottish accent, which is “worse” when he’s had a drink. “Everyone speaks to everyone”, says the singer. He can’t go to the shop without being stopped by five locals asking how his “ma” is. “I’m like, God, I’m just tryna’ get a loaf of bread!”

Warning: contains spoilers for Endeavour Series 1 – 9, Episode 2.
Few would have foreseen the poignant turn DS Jakes’ story took in Endeavour. Jack Laskey’s Detective Sergeant character started out in Series 1 as a foil to Morse – the cynical, streetwise cad to Endeavour’s principled and bright-eyed scholar. He wasn’t an antagonist, more a buzzing fly in Morse’s periphery, and not a man to trust. By the time Jakes exited the drama in Series 3 though, everybody was rightly rooting for him, Morse included.
The turning point came in the Series 2 finale, when DS Peter Jakes was revealed to have once been Little Pete, the youngest of a group of “wayward” boys raised at Blenheim Vale residential home. In the 1940s and 1950s, Blenheim Vale was the site of a brutal paedophilia ring. So-called pillars of the community including a police officer, a local politician, a philanthropic business owner and the home’s doctor,...

The awards show will also be posthumously honoring former Sony Pictures Entertainment senior VP and music supervisor, Pilar McCurry.
Williams’ standards have been recorded by such decorated artists as Ray Charles, David Bowie, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Diana Ross, the Carpenters, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Luther Vandross and Willie Nelson, among others. He’s previously been recognized with six Oscars, nine Grammys, six Golden Globes, and two Emmy nominations.
“There is a strange, beautiful alchemy, that occurs when the perfect song placement transforms
both the scene and the song,” said Williams in a news release. “I have been graced with many opportunities to write music for picture in my career, and it feels like magic every single time.

Warning: contains spoilers for Endeavour Series 9 Episode 1 ‘Prelude’.
It’s May 1972, six months after Morse finally accepted that he needed to seek help with his drink problem. He’s back at Castle Gate after taking the cure – sober, dapper and in control… until his offer to escort Miss Thursday to the next wedding in her diary meets the news that Joan’s next wedding will be her own. Our detective had spent the last series so lost in booze that he’d failed to detect Joan’s emerging romance with Jim Strange. Now, he faces being the best man at a ceremony where he may once have hoped to be the groom.
Coming in second was revealed as the – somewhat unsatisfactory – motive for the episode’s main murder: an orchestra leader poisoned by the best friend who’d lived in her shadow since they were teenagers. Whether it was the...

Eugenio Derbez is developing the workplace comedy series They Came At Night with ViX+ under the first-look deal between 3Pas Studios and TelevisaUnivision.
They Came At Night is inspired by true events and it gives a behind-the-scenes look at the group of underdogs who went on to create the critically acclaimed Spanish version of the 1930 horror classic, Dracula. While Bela Lugosi filmed Dracula during the day on the Universal lot, at the end of each day another cast and crew arrived to make the same exact movie… only in Spanish. Using the same sets, costumes, and a translated version of the script, the cast and crew of the Spanish Dracula filmed from dusk to dawn, and, against all odds, the critical consensus is that the Spanish version turned out to be the better film.

Eugenio Derbez will explore a lesser-known aspect of Hollywood history with his latest TV project.
The actor and producer (Apple TV+’s Acapulco, How to Be a Latin Lover) will star in and executive produce a comedy with the working title They Came at Night, which is in development at TelevisaUnivision’s streaming platform Vix+. The project is a workplace show about the cast and crew who made a Spanish-language version of Dracula in 1930 — filming at night and using the same sets and costumes as Tod Browning’s English-language version.
“I have not worked in scripted Spanish language TV comedy for well over ten years and was looking for something really special to come back,” Derbez said in a statement. “This story really jumped out at me because it tells the story of Latinos always having to accomplish more with less resources and harder conditions.

Eugenio Derbez had to undergo a “long and complicated surgery” following an undisclosed accident. His wife Alessandra Rosaldo is now updating fans following the medical intervention.
“To everyone that have been looking out for Eugenio, I want to inform you that fortunately, after a long and complicated surgery, he is recovering,” the actor and singer said in a statement posted on Instagram.
Rosaldo went on to explain that the day of the surgery “was a very long day with many emotions.” However, what made them get through it was the “countless signs of affection, messages, good wishes, blessings and prayers” that made “the surgery a success.”
“His recovery starts now,” she added. “We’ve felt closer and stronger than ever the love that you all sent us and we are eternally grateful.”

Getting movies made in Hollywood is never easy. But considering he’s the writer, director and star of the highest-grossing Spanish-language film ever made, it would be fair to expect that the path to high-profile projects would be a bit more straightforward than Eugenio Derbez has experienced.
Derbez, who established himself with Mexican sitcoms in the early 2000s, broke out at the box office in a major way with 2013’s Instructions Not Included, the comedy he co-wrote, helmed and stars in as a playboy who has to suddenly care for his 6-year-old daughter. Buoyed by the success of its 100.5 million worldwide gross, a number that has yet to be topped by another Spanish-language film, the star moved to the U.S. the following year, finally ready to relish the attention he hadn’t previously received during Hollywood dit-downs.

Australian actress Samara Weaving hasn't quite broken into the A-List, but there's little doubt she's destined for it. Ever since her three-episode role as Heather on Ash vs. Evil Dead, it's become clear that she's two things: a scream queen and a performer who's capable of far more than screams.

Weaving would find her breakthrough into the cinematic world via horror, and she'll more likely than not put out scary movies every now and then, but with roles in the recent release The Valet and HBO's critically acclaimed Nine Perfect Strangers, it stands to reason that the actress will continue turning in phenomenal work in every genre.

This review of “Emergency” was first published Jan. 20, 2022, after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
To walk the world knowing that you are presumed a threat is the harrowing burden at the heart of “Emergency.” That appalling reality sets three young men of color on a nightmarishly nerve-racking drive, for taking the socially acceptable right course of action in a dire situation could endanger not only their future academic prospects but also their lives.
Walking a thematic line about the racial biases that plague America’s institutions and society at large akin to other such recent indie productions as “Blindspotting,” “The Land” or “Monsters and Men,” the sophomore effort from director Carey Williams (whose debut “R#J” was a social-media take on “Romeo and Juliet”) strikes a difficult equilibrium between its disquieting observations and comedic inclinations.

Actress Diany Rodriguez can be seen in two wildly different roles this month.
Rodriguez is best known as Weecha, the new, no-nonsense bodyguard for Raymond “Red” Reddington on NBC's The Blacklist.
She also appears in the Netflix rom-com The Valet, where she portrays Natalie, a bike-shop owner and community activist fighting gentrification. This role, Rodriguez says, is closest to herself of any that she has played.
Rodriguez took time out recently to talk in an exclusive interview with TV Fanatic about those two roles, as well as her transition from theater to film and her community activism.
Her transformation to Weecha was a quick one, as she earned the role within four days of her audition.
Weecha and her healer sister, Mierce, nursed Red to health during the two years he was missing following Elizabeth Keen's murder in The Blacklist Season 8.

It’s unlikely that anyone was holding their breath for an English-language reimagining of Francis Veber’s 2006 French hit “La Doublure,” a lovable if trite farce in which a porter and a supermodel fake a romantic relationship in order to prevent a PR disaster. But with the help of some doting cultural specificity, a charming cast and sunshiny Los Angeles skies, “Come As You Are” director Richard Wong’s “The Valet” proves that a remake can still be a welcome thing these days, even in a world oversaturated with them.
Written by Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg (the duo behind the “Overboard” remake), this sweet-natured and good-humored rom-com-with-a-twist should easily find reasonable streaming success upon its May 20 launch on Hulu. This version of the story brings its distinctly “Notting Hill” beats to Tinseltown, where the modest and socially awkward Antonio works as a valet, parking the fancy cars of a...

Arguably, Mexican film and television superstar Eugenio Derbez has already conquered the American market. His 2013 film “Instructions Not Included” is the highest grossing Spanish-language film in the U.S. and grossed 100 million worldwide. He earned a SAG Award as part of the “Coda” ensemble cast, which went on to win the Best Picture Oscar, and he co-starred in the hit action-adventure “Dora and the Lost City of Gold.”
However, the attempts to launch him as a romantic leading man — in 2017’s “How to Be a Latin Lover” and 2018’s “Overboard,” a remake of the 1987 comedy — haven’t exactly lit the world on fire, even if they have been profitable.
But if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again, and Derbez is back, with “Overboard” writers Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg, starring in and producing Hulu’s “The Valet,” directed by Richard Wong. It’s a remake of the...

Eugenio Derbez has been working on getting “The Valet” made for quite some time.
“When we started writing this, Barack Obama was the president. Then Trump came in and we decided to change everything, because it was a different country,” the actor told me at the film’s premiere on Wednesday night at The Montalbán in Hollywood. “So it took us like, seven years to get the final draft. But I think we nailed it. This is a love letter to Latinos and working class immigrants, but it’s also a very, very funny movie.”
Derbez stars in the Hulu rom-com as a valet attendant who is hired to pretend he’s dating a movie star (Samara Weaving) so she could squash rumors that she’s having an affair with a Los Angeles real estate tycoon (Max Greenfield).
