Nikki Toscano has a long resume filled with many high-profile TV shows including Revenge, Bates Motel, Shades of Blue, Hunters, The Offer and American Gigolo. But nothing has delivered the “unique excitement” like her latest, Peacock’s Long Bright River starring Amanda Seyfried.

That’s because the eight-episode limited series marks her first creator credit (in tandem with Liz Moore who wrote the novel on which it is based) and her first time in the director’s chair. Per Deadline, Titus Welliver and Juani Feliz are on board to guest star in an upcoming episode of the Queen Latifah-led series. The two will specifically appear in the 16th episode of the show's current fifth season. They have reportedly signed on to potentially star in a spinoff as series regulars if the new show moves forward, but it hasn't been officially greenlit by CBS just yet. The episode was written by Joseph C. Wilson, who will be executive producing the spinoff if CBS moves forward with the show.

Erica Ash, best known for her role on BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood and Survivor’s Remorse, has passed away at the age of 46.

The actress’s death was confirmed by her mother in a statement to CNN, revealing that Ash succumbed to a “long and courageous battle with cancer” on Sunday.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend Erica Chantal Ash,” her mother, Diann Ash, shared.

“Erica was an amazing woman and talented entertainer who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor, and genuine zest for life. Her memory will live eternally in our hearts.”

Ash was active on social media in January but had not shared any posts in several months leading up to her untimely death.

Set in the 1860s, Thine Ears Shall Bleed follows a devout religious family as they travel across the western states in a covered wagon. The family, led by minister Ezekiel (Andrew Hovelson) and his wife Sarah (Hannah Cabell), along with their children Abigail (Lea Zawada) and Luke (Duke Huston), encounter a mysterious sound emanating from the woods. Believing it to be a divine call, they begin to worship it, only to find their faith leading them into unimaginable horror.

What starts as a journey of faith soon turns into a nightmare as the family realises that what they believed to be a heavenly presence is something far more sinister.

Meanwhile, Berlinale Series boss Julia Fidel has also departed, with the track was discontinued as an independent program. Series will instead be highlighted as part of the Berlinale Series Gala — a move the festival thinks brings it closer in line with other European film fests such as Cannes and Venice.

Notably for the TV biz, the Berlinale Series Market industry conference remains unaffected and will be running a full program. Exclusive: The Season 2 finale of Yellowjackets was a buzzy one for Showtime.

The season came to an end over the weekend, alongside the series finales for HBO’s Succession and Barry. The finale episode drew 1.5M total viewers over its premiere weekend based on Nielsen, comScore, and internal streaming data.

Episodes of Yellowjackets were available on the Showtime app on Friday, before airing on the linear network on Sunday nights. This data encapsulates viewing throughout that viewing period.

The Season 2 finale marks the second most-streamed Showtime original season finale ever, behind only Dexter: New Blood.

By comparison, the Season 1 finale of Yellowjackets drew 1.3M viewers across platforms. The Season 2 closer had a 7% gain in cross-platform viewership versus the Season 1 finale, and streaming was up 50%.

Ray Liotta‘s death last May came as a result of heart and respiratory failure, according to new documents obtained by TMZ.

It was reported on May 26 that the actor had passed away in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he was filming the movie Dangerous Waters. Doctors have since cited “respiratory insufficiency” and fluid in the lungs (aka pulmonary edema), paired with acute heart failure, as the culprits. Liotta was 67 years old.
