Five Nights at Freddy's (2014)

FAQ

Five Nights at Freddy's

In the game, "The Bite of '87" refers to an incident that happened in a Freddy Fazbear pizza in 1987, where one of the anamatronic characters bit off someone's frontal lobe. Which animatronic is the culprit of the bite is still a topic of debate among the Fandom. The most commonly accept on is Mangle from Five Nights at Freddy's 2, since the second game takes place in 1987, during that time, most of the classic animatronics where kept away from customers, having been replaced with the Toy animatronics which likely wouldn't be able to bite some's frontal lobe because of their smaller jaws.

Before the second game released, there were many theories about who did the bit. Some people pointed at Foxy, who is out of order and seems like his jaw might be broken. Others believed Freddy could be the culprit due to the "don't touch Freddy sign. The jumpscare that plays when you set the animatronic's ai to 1-9-8-7 also made some fans believe Goden Freddy to be the culprit.

The Bite of 87 is also often mistaken for "The Bite of 83", wich happened in FIve Nights at Freddy's 4, when a kid was put inside of Fredbear by some bullies. The creator of the game confirmed they were two different events.

While the sequel "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" shows the game is set in 1987, the date of this game remains unknown as your final paycheck the year is blotted out. Given your wages of $120 and comparing them against Federal Minimum Wage standards (assuming again the game takes place within the United States) it's possible the game is set in 1993, 1999, or 2004 as all three years had November 12 land on a Friday. The 1993 date is the most accepted date by the fandom.
