A new “Thunrderbolts*” trailer dropped Friday, and it this time, the Marvel Studios blockbuster took a surprising approach to its own material: It wants more indie cred.

In the trailer exclusive to Letterboxd, the 65-second spot highlights the behind-the-scenes creative team’s credentials across some of the decades most successful indie films, from “Minari” to “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” In other words, the Marvel film began marketing itself as an A24 movie.

In the Lost Lands is the latest project from Paul W.S. Anderson. That right there should give you some pause before deciding whether or not to see this movie. While he has found some box office success — mainly with the Resident Evil franchise — the perceived quality has been, shall we say, lacking.

Faults aside, Rotten Tomatoes at least serves as a decent barometer for a general consensus. With the exception of his 2011 documentary Corman’s World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel, Mortal Kombat at 47%, and Monster Hunter at 70% are his best received movies by critics and audiences, respectively. Lumbly’s Isaiah Bradley was the last living Black Super Soldier who spent years in jail and in hiding, so as to hide the U.S.’s secret experiments on Black soldiers.

In the conversation that Bradley has with Wilson, he reveals that he had encountered Bucky once and failed to kill him. It was this event that brought several repercussions for him. Lumbly returns to his role in Captain America: Brave New World. He shared in a recent interview that he would like his character to encounter Bucky once more.

It goes without saying that Bucky Barnes is one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most popular characters. Played by Sebastian Stan, Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes made his on-screen debut in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger and fans instantly fell in love with Steve Rogers' loyal, funny, and handsome (very handsome) best friend. When he returned from the dead in 2014 sequel The Winter Soldier (as the titular antagonist), he instantly became an MCU legend. There was no going back after that.

Although Bucky is widely recognized as the former Winter Soldier, the fact that his time with the franchise began in 2011's The First Avenger makes Stan one of the longest-standing actors in the Marvel Studios franchise. There are clearly no plans on that changing in the foreseeable future, as the character is set to return in this year's Thunderbolts*.

Tyrion Lannister had quite a disappointing arc in the season finale of Game of Thrones, but George R.R. Martin’s The Winds of Winter can still fix this and give the beloved character’s story a proper conclusion. He was already a fan-favorite character at the beginning of the series, but as the show progressed, he was inadvertently shoved to the sideline.

Bucky Barnes is a staple of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Making his debut all the way back in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, actor Sebastian Stan is one of the franchise's longest-standing performers, and that doesn't look to be changing anytime soon.

He hasn't been as prominent in the Multiverse Saga, but he did feature quite heavily in one of the first titles in this chapter of the MCU, co-headlining Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which saw Bucky team up with Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie). Of course, Sam has since gone on to take up the shield of Steve Rogers as the next Captain America, while Bucky joins a new team in Thunderbolts*, which has a release date of May 2, 2025.

With Captain America: Brave New World now out in the world, it's only natural that fans have been wondering if the film references Sam's new best friend.

A sequel to ‘The Batman’ was officially announced at CinemaCon in April 2022, with Robert Pattinson and director Matt Reeves returning. By August, Mattson Tomlin had joined as co-writer, and the film was initially titled ‘The Batman – Part II’ in early 2023.

However, by late 2024, the title was dropped as Reeves continued working on the script. Key cast members, including Jeffrey Wright as Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as Penguin, are set to reprise their roles.

So far, the movie has been delayed 2 times in total and is currently set to hit theaters on October 1, 2027. Matt Reeves gave us an update on the script a few months ago, saying it’s still not finished but filming is expected to start in late 2025 at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England.

The rich narrative and morally gray characters made it an epic read. Now, fans have been waiting for the next installment, i.e., The Winds of Winter, for more than 13 long years. But perhaps there’s a deeper reason why he hasn’t finished the book, something that might have to do with the author’s non-traditional storytelling method.

It’s been more than a decade since George R.R. Martin’s The Winds of Winter was expected to come out. Unfortunately, not only does it remain unreleased, any expected date is also obscure. Although the author has stated that the book is still a priority, many seem uncertain.

Consequently, fans are convinced that the last book will definitely remain unfinished. As such, speculations about how Martin might end the novels have run rampant.

Although it is hard to say for sure, the fans might glean some idea of the story’s ultimate direction from the old name given to the last book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. At the very least, it will surely remind them of some of the moments that made the Game of Thrones show so beloved in the first place.

Anime original series aren't very common, and that's just one of the many traits that makes Zenshu stand out this season. Natsuko Hirose is a delightful protagonist who's strong characterization is enough of a hook to capture an audience. Plus, the series is relatable to anyone who's ever loved a piece of media that just wasn't successful. It's the story of what lengths a fan will go to in order to give the characters she loved a happy ending. Natusko is trying to subvert the story she loves for the sake of the characters in it. Even as she freely admits to not understanding the movie fully.

Natsuko already feels like she's friends with these characters because she loves them, but that isn't enough to form a real relationship. Instead, she has to put in the work to get to know them. She also has to save them from all the threats she faces.

The Winds of Winter is a novel that fans are hotly anticipating, even more so after the horrible ending that Game of Thrones received. The idea that this story might have to deal with what the show put on as its canon ending is not something fans can bear.

However, there seems to be steady but slow progress on the part of the aging author, with a lot of optimism growing as each new year begins. George R.R. Martin has already said that there will be a big announcement when he is done, and fans only need to be patient.

George R.R. Martin, speaking with Bangast (via Business Insider) in 2023, revealed how much he was done with it. He said:

I’m 12 years late on this damn novel, and I’m struggling with it.

In the first trailer for the second season of Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” prequel, Jacob (Harrison Ford) and Cara (Helen Mirren) face a bitter season at Dutton ranch, with enemies and freezing cold threatening to end the legacy they are building.

In the meantime, according to the official logline, Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana, while Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find him.

Paramount+ released the trailer on Sunday. Season 2 will premiere Feb. 23.

The Winds of Winter has not released yet, but it already promises to be one of the weirdest and darkest books in A Song of Ice and Fire so far. George R.R. Martin has been working on the sixth and penultimate novel in the series that inspired Game of Thrones since 2011, with various delays to The Winds of Winter’s release (which the author has since given up trying to predict). Since the first trailer for Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* was released, there's been a distinct...feel to the tone and style of the film. The morally ambiguous ensemble of anti-heroes at the center of the movie has helped to distinguish the upcoming movie from other projects that Marvel Studios has in the pipeline, in addition to having a fantastic cast with the likes of Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, and Sebastian Stan. According to the Winter Soldier actor, Thunderbolts* is wholly unique thanks to encouragement from the top brass at Marvel Studios. And these changes will break a controversial MCU trend.

In an interview with Deadline, Stan discussed how Thunderbolts* sets itself apart not just with its all-star cast, but also because of the way the action sequences were filmed.
