The Buccaneers season 2 release date has officially been revealed as Apple TV+ releases a teaser trailer for the show. Based on the novel by Edith Wharton, The Buccaneers is an Apple TV+ produced costume drama about a group of American young women in the 1870s who grapple with an Anglo-American culture clash when they are sent overseas to secure husbands and titles. The Buccaneers features a leading cast including Kristin Froseth, Alisha Boe, Matthew Broome, Josie Totah, Imogen Waterhouse, and Aubri Ibrag.

Justin Theroux and Nicole Brydon Bloom are married, according to reports.

The couple tied the knot over the weekend in Tulum, Mexico, according to multiple outlets. TMZ posted photos of the couple in wedding attire on a beach.

Reps for Theroux and Bloom have not responded to a request for comment.

Theroux and Bloom first sparked romance rumors in February 2023, when they were seen together at a Netflix event. They made their red carpet debut over a year later, at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in March 2024.

The Last of Us Season 2 is almost here, and on Saturday, HBO debuted the first official trailer for the acclaimed show’s second season.

The release coincides with a special The Last of Us panel at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival featuring co-showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann and cast members Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, and Young Mazino.

Pascal and Ramsey were Emmy nominees for Season 1 of The Last of Us, which won eight Emmy Awards out of 24 nominations (and swept the drama guest acting categories for guest stars Nick Offerman and Storm Reid).

Upon doing some research, it seems the Brits have, in fact, adapted this 1860 novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa to create an illustrious miniseries that will consume your senses from start to finish. The show, set in 1860s Sicily, follows the titular character, the Prince of Salina, and his family through a time of distress and fear. On the surface, The Leopard seems to be a regular period drama with all of the ingredients that make them so lovable: a love triangle, family drama, people going to war, and a lot more of the usual fluff. But what stood out to me the most about The Leopard is that even amidst all of that chaos, at its heart, it is a drama about a father-daughter relationship.

She told Variety, “Right now we’re on a one-year deal. So I’m optimistic that we could get another year. If for some reason the numbers skyrocket this season, perhaps we’d get a multi-year deal, but that’s really above my pay grade.” So, basically, a fourth season could happen should the viewership remain the same.

Hulu has renewed the critically acclaimed drama Paradise for season two, with the announcement coming ahead of season one’s finale set for March 4, 2025. Season one premiered on January 28, 2025, and Hulu hasn’t revealed a target date for the debut of season two.

Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us) leads the cast of the political thriller as Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins. The season one cast also includes Emmy nominee James Marsden (Jury Duty) as President Cal Bradford, Emmy winner Julianne Nicholson (Mare of Easttown) as Sinatra, Sarah Shahi as Dr. Gabriela Torabi, Nicole Brydon Bloom (The Gilded Age) as Jane Driscoll, Aliyah Mastin as Presley Collins, and Percy Daggs IV (Never Let Go) as James Collins.

“Paradise is set in a serene community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals,” reads Hulu’s synopsis.

FX's Shōgun, adapted from the novel by James Clavell, was an absolute triumph. Released in 2024, the series was a critical hit, dominating the streaming charts and taking home a record-breaking 18 Primetime Emmys last year. While audiences and critics may have loved the hit samurai drama, one person who couldn't get on board with the modern adaptation is Jerry London, who directed the beloved 1980 Shōgun miniseries.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jerry London aired his grievances about the latest adaptation, namely that a series set in Japan and featuring Japanese characters played by Japanese actors had the gall to mostly be in Japanese. Premiere will launch international sales this week at the European Film Market.

The neo-noir road movie follows an ex-con who is coerced by mobsters into executing a hit on a woman, but instead, the two misfits hatch a plan to steal money from the people who want her dead. Max Casella and Glenn Fleshler round out the lead cast.

Jeffrey Reiner directed the film from his original screenplay. Reiner also produced alongside Joey Oglesby, Cleta Ellington, and Bernie Stern. Michael Hillman and Brent Wilson served as executive producers.

Exclusive: Christine Baranski will be honored with the Achievement in Television eXcellence Award at this year’s Atx TV Festival in Austin.

As such, the festival will feature an award presentation and a conversation to celebrate her decades-long career across television, film and stage — which, of course, will include her Emmy-winning performance on Cybill, her 13-year run as high-powered attorney Diane Lockhart on The Good Wife and The Good Fight, and her current role as socialite Agnes Van Rhijn on HBO’s historical drama The Gilded Age.

Baranski follows in the footsteps of television legends who have received this honor over the years, including Norman Lear, Henry Winkler, James L. Brooks, Marcy Carsey, Phylicia Rashad, Michael J. Fox, Lesli Linka Glatter, and James Burrows.

“Whether her characters are delivering a quick-witted barb, a compelling legal argument, or a look worth 1,000 words – Christine’s presence and range as a performer is truly singular.

Danielle Deadwyler, one of the biggest breakout stars of the last year, sat front row at the Ulla Johnson fashion show alongside chic couple Rebecca Hall and Morgan Spector.

The stakes are getting even higher in Kingstown. Mayor of Kingstown, the gritty crime drama from Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, has stacked its cast for Season 4 with three big-name additions in the shape of Emmy winner Edie Falco (The Sopranos), BAFTA winner Lennie James (The Walking Dead), and Tony winner Laura Benanti (The Gilded Age), according to Deadline. Those three will join star Jeremy Renner for the fourth season as the Paramount+ hit gears up for another brutal season in the most corrupt town in Michigan.

Deadline reports that Mayor of Kingstown season 4 has added several cast members, including Edie Falco (The Sopranos), Lennie James (Fear the Walking Dead), and Laura Benanti (The Gilded Age).

Falco will be a series regular for the fourth season, playing Nina Hobbs, the new warden of Anchor Bay. As I happen to be going through my annual rewatch of Oz, it will be fun to see Falco back in prison. James will play Frank Moses, a respected legendary gangster, and Benanti will play Cindy Stephens, a new correctional officer. Set and shot in his hometown of Syracuse, New York, with family members even making cameos, “Plainclothes” is clearly very personal to writer/director Carmen Emmi. It’s much more than its plot synopsis, which tells of a 1990s period piece about an undercover police officer luring gay men into the crime of indecent exposure. In reality, “Plainclothes” is a meditation on the process of accepting oneself even as society and loved ones deem it wrong.

English actor Tom Blyth, most recognizable from the MGM+ series “Billy the Kid” and “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” impresses as Lucas, the cop. Blythe’s performance is an interior one, where what Lucas does is not as important as how he feels inside. Capturing that is a special gift and Blyth delivers. Early on, it’s obvious that Lucas compartmentalizes his own desires with ease while performing his job.

“The Night Agent” has upped cast members Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ward Horton and Albert Jones to series regulars for its third season. The news comes just after the Jan. 23 release of Season 2.

Per the official logline, the series follows “low level FBI Agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), whose efforts to save the president (Kari Matchett) in Season 1 earn him an opportunity to become a ‘night agent’ in Season 2. But working in the secretive organization of night action will propel Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.”

Exclusive: Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ward Horton and Albert Jones are being promoted to series regulars for the upcoming third season of Netflix’s The Night Agent, Deadline can reveal.

On the action thriller series based on Matthew Quirk’s novel, Evans-Akingbola plays secret service agent Chelsea Arrington, with Horton as Governor Richard Hagan, and Jones as Deputy Director Aiden Mosely.

Shawn Ryan, the show’s creator, showrunner and executive producer, confirmed Evans-Akingbola’s Season 3 return in a recent interview with Deadline. A fan favorite, she returns to the series regular status she held in Season 1 after only making a cameo in the second season. Horton’s promotion was presaged by the Season 2 finale, which found his antagonist Hagan poised to become the next president. Exclusive: You producer Alloy Entertainment has a new head of television.

Former HBO drama executive Maia Hollinger has been appointed to the role. It comes after former television chief Gina Girolamo exited last year and subsequently struck an overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios.

Hollinger will report to Leslie Morgenstein, President and Chief Creative Officer of Alloy, who himself renewed his deal with Warner Bros. Television last year.

She has been tasked with expanding the company’s slate into more adult-focused series in addition to the YA series that it is known for.

As VP, Drama Development and Programming at HBO, she managed the development and production of drama series including The White Lotus, The Gilded Age, In Treatment, The New Pope and The Undoing. She spent four years at the premium cable network between January 2019 and December 2022 and was consulting with NBCUniversal on drama programming last year.

In “Paradise,” Sterling K. Brown stars as Agent Xavier Collins, whose life is turned upside-down when he finds James Marsden’s President Cal Bradford dead during a routine morning. As the murder investigation for Cal kicks off, “Paradise” reveals a dystopian twist that altered the U.S. as the characters knew it.

We’ve learned more and more about the cast for the upcoming third season of The Gilded Age on HBO!
