The company’s horror-heavy slate includes “Play Dead,” starring Paula Brasca in a claustrophobic nightmare where she must lie motionless among corpses while mysterious rituals unfold above her. In a different kind of psychological tension, erotic thriller “Traumnovelle” – the English-language adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler’s 1926 novella that previously inspired Stanley Kubrick’s “Eyes Wide Shut” – follows a high-society couple’s dangerous descent into an elite underground world of...

I wanted to do something original and genre-bending, and different to my other work, but still in the spirit of the horror-thrillers I grew up with. More to come. #MalignantMovie

When deadbeat dad and failing artist Mark wakes up in his dingy London council flat late one morning, he thinks the worst that’s going to happen is losing a custody battle for his child. While that is pretty bad, Mark’s day soon goes even further downhill when he discovers that he and every other tenant in his estate has been sealed into their homes and they may or may not have been exposed to a deadly virus.

Is Max Evans really dead?
That's been the question on the minds of Roswell, New Mexico fans ever since the first season came to a dramatic conclusion last year.
Weeks ahead of the sophomore debut, The CW has dropped the official trailer, and we have a lot of questions.
Despite leaving us hanging over a cliff wondering whether Max stages a surprise return from the dead, the trailer finds Liz confirming his death.
It's a bitter pill to swallow, but on a series filled with otherworldly twists and turns, the more likely scenario is that Nathan Parsons will reprise his role at some point.
Poor Liz has to explain to Rosa why she looks different. Rosa has not aged a day since being killed off 10 years ago, thanks in large part to her being brought back from the dead.
With Rosa being in the pod for the 10 years, it certainly...

“I’m going to explain everything to you,” Liz tells her newly resurrected sister in the extended trailer for Roswell, New Mexico‘s upcoming second season. And she has a lot to explain.
Honestly, where should she even begin? The CW drama’s first season ended with Max sacrificing himself to bring back Rosa, a favor Liz intends to repay. As she explains in the trailer, “Max gave me back the only thing that mattered to me. Now, it’s my turn.”

Chris Wood has been cast in a major role in the pilot “Thirtysomething(else)” at ABC, a followup to the popular drama series “Thirtysomething.”
The new project will follow an ensemble of new faces playing the grown-up, 30-something children of the original cast reprised by Ken Olin (Michael Steadman), Mel Harris (Hope Murdoch), Timothy Busfield (Elliot Weston) and Patty Wettig (Nancy Weston).
Variety has confirmed Wood will star as Leo Steadman, Hope and Michael’s son and Janey’s brother. Described as good-looking and charming, Leo is so intent on becoming a “big deal” like his father that he skips steps along the way. His talent and grand ideas are tripped up by his lack of focus and follow-through.
Wood recently appeared on the first two seasons of “Supergirl” as Mon-El. He is also known for playing Kai Parker on fellow CW series “The Vampire Diaries,” a role he recently reprised on the spinoff “Legacies.

That's a wrap! James Wan has wrapped filming his new horror movie Malignant. Wan has spent the past few years directing massive blockbusters, such as Aquaman and Furious 7. But now, the man behind The Conjuring universe is taking a trip back to his original horror roots with his latest creation. While much remains mysterious about this particular project, Wan has shared some final set photos following the production wrapping over the weekend.
Taking to Instagram, James Wan revealed a handful of photos from behind-the-scenes, with various cast and crew members holding the clapboard. Unfortunately, they don't reveal much in terms of what to expect from the movie itself, as Wan seems to be playing this one particularly close to the chest. Wan provided the following caption with the photos.

James Wan has shared a new set image from Malignant. The director is currently taking a break from the Aquaman franchise to focus on his return to the horror genre. Wan is keeping things under wraps in terms of the story, but he did share that they are almost finished with principal photography, which should be exciting news for horror fans. As for the image itself, there's not a whole lot going on except for the slate that shows off what appears to be the upcoming movie's logo.
Malignant begin shooting in September. The thriller stars Annabelle Wallis (Annabelle), Jake Abel (Supernatural), George Young (Containment), Maddie Hasson (Mr. Mercedes), Michole Briana White (Encino Man) and Jacqueline McKenzie (Pine Gap). James Wan is the king of modern horror franchises. From Saw to Insidious to The Conjuring, it seems that practically everything the filmmaker touches turns to cinematic gold, and his upcoming film Silvercup looks like it has the potential to follow in the footsteps of its predecessors.
Wan has already cast frequent collaborator Annabelle Wallis in the movie and now, he’s reportedly selected George Young to star alongside her as the male lead. This could be a breakout role for the English actor, too, who hasn’t featured in anything major to this point in his career.
The 39-year-old endeared himself to international audiences in HBO Asia’s 2014 miniseries Grace and recently appeared in the first two parts of an indie film series entitled A Bread Factory. American viewers, meanwhile, may recognize him from The CW’s short-lived drama Containment.

James Wan will direct New Line horror movie Malignant before returning to helm Aquaman 2.
James Wan is at an interesting place in his career. While he proved his action movie bonafides several years ago with the stressful production of Furious 7, it was last year that he managed to successfully launch a new superhero franchise with a wild premise and little in the way of a popular shared universe to fall back on. Nevertheless, Aquaman was gonzo, bubblegum fun that grossed about $1.2 billion at the box office. So, in theory, he could do anything he’d want next. Which makes news that he’s returning to horror so intriguing.
Malignant is the official title of Wan's hush-hush horror film, which will star Annabelle Wallis and George Young. The initial announcement of the project revealed that Wan was locked in to direct a...

In anticipation of the 40th anniversary of Ridley Scott's Alien, last year Fox and Tongal opened submissions for original pitches set in the Alien universe. Out of more than 550 pitches, six ideas were turned into official short films as part of a new digital anthology series, and you can now watch the second of those six short films, "Specimen," in its blood-curdling entirety.
You can watch "Specimen" below via IGN, and we also have the previously released Alien short film, "Containment," courtesy of IGN.
From IGN: To celebrate Alien's 40th anniversary and in partnership with Tongal, 20th Century Fox is releasing new Alien-universe fan-made short films leading up to Alien Day on April 26th.
Directed by Kelsey Taylor, the synopsis for "Specimen" reads: "It's the night shift in a colony greenhouse, and Julie, a botanist, does her best to contain suspicious soil samples that have triggered her sensitive lab dog.

“Alien” has evolved more than anyone could have imagined when Ridley Scott first introduced the xenomorph in 1979, from sequels and comic books to video games and high-school plays. Its latest mutation comes as part of the sci-fi classic’s 40th anniversary, which 20th Century Fox — a scrappy, up-and-coming studio that recently hit it big when it was acquired by Disney — is celebrating with the release of six short films: “Containment,” “Specimen,” “Night Shift,” “Ore,” “Harvest,” and “Alone.”
These works range in quality and scope, as all such projects do, but have in common a reverence to their otherworldly source material that both helps and hinders their collective effort to expand the “Alien” mythos. Without knowing what, if any, restrictions were placed on the filmmakers by Fox (who selected these six stories from more than 550 pitches), it’s difficult not to be disappointed that more of them don’t endeavor to truly forge new territory.

A brand new official Alien short has been released online. The franchise is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and, while there is no full-length feature being released, which would be ideal, 20th Century Fox has been doing plenty to help honor the occasion. We recently learned that they're releasing a series of six shorts set within the Alien universe and the second installment, Alien: Specimen, has been officially unleashed. It should delight fans of the series who are desperate for some facehugger action.
This short comes from director Kelsey Taylor. Aesthetically, this looks very much in line with the early movies in the franchise. Low-tech yet detailed. We also get a look at some elements that haven't really been explored in the movies before. What are greenhouses like in space? What's it like when someone is working a boring night shift all alone in space? Do facehuggers and dogs get along?...

Well, this is some exciting casting news.
According to TV Line, Nadine Lewington has joined the cast of The Originals Season 5.
The actress will take on the role of Greta Sienna, a “calculating and charismatic vampire” who paraded around Europe in the 1920s and '30s
In recent times, the vampire made her way to New Orleans, and it sounds like she values her family very dearly.
Lewington will first appear on The Originals Season 5 Episode 1, which debuts Friday, April 20 at 9/8c.
Her deal with the soon-to-conclude vampire drama is said to be on a recurring basis, so she will likely be around for most of the final episodes.
Nadine previously worked The Originals' co-executive producer on Containment which had a short run on The CW in 2016.
Here's a fun fact for you: Lewington is married to former The Vampire Diaries star, Michael Malarkey who played Enzo on the show's final four seasons.
