    Baseless and Clichéd Christian Bashing

Completely agree with the other review on here. This was the most clichéd portrayal on Catholic/Christian bashing I have ever seen - EVER. Absolutely terrible - not to mention the hipster cast - I couldn't stop cringing! I'd dare the "director" to make the same film, but instead of using Christians as the "bad, evil religion", use another of the Abrahamic faiths - i.e. Judaism or Islam. There is NO WAY IN HELL this film would've gotten funding or support if they had portrayed either of those faiths in the same light that they have portrayed Christianity in this film. Absolutely disgusting. This kind of film is everything that is wrong, not only with the Australian film industry, but this entire generation's pseudo-left-wing/morally bankrupt ideologies. Terrible. One star (I'd give it zero if I could).

    poor

A lot of cliches used as tools for a sort of damnation of Romano Catholicism. Unfortunatelly, nothing more.

It is a story with beautiful potential reduced to a sort of pledge for...nothing. Because it seems , against the effort of actors, an improvisation. Not the most smart one. The bad priest, manipulating the too pious - to bigoticism - mother against her daughter and son, the relation brother - sister, a kiss , a fight in school yard and a treatment who has no reason .

A poor film who, in few scenes, fights to give some coherence. But it falls front to the thesis who must be demonstrated.

The basic sin - the wrong simplicity, suffocated by the ways of story.

A poor short film who pretend serve a cause. The result is only awful.

    Typical Catholic Bashing

Sadly, this film had the makings of an interesting character study. What begins as a troubled teen's coming to terms with his world and identity turns into some reverse morality play with a Catholic (?) priest embodying all the hypocrisy and evil of every ill done in the name of Christianity. Unfortunately, we then have to suspend our disbelief here and accept that priests are these hipster douches (complete with "man-bun") who go around seducing women so they will turn against their sons, when in reality it's all just a clever ploy to see the son naked so they can affix some medieval torture device to his genitals in the guise of "conversion therapy". Well...Catholics don't do "conversion therapy"...never have, just as an FYI to the writer and viewer; the Catholic church's stance is anyone who is homosexual is called to celibacy, (not that it matters, because...hey, Catholicism is fair game, right?). Just awful. I'm giving this 2 stars for the music, which was on point. But don't take that as any sort of endorsement to watch this tripe.
