Alan Arkin, the Oscar-winning actor who starred in films like Little Miss Sunshine, Argo, and Glengarry Glen Rose during a career that spanned over 60 years, has died at the age of 89.

Arkin’s sons Adam, Matthew, and Anthony confirmed their father’s death in a statement to People. “Our father was a uniquely talented force of nature, both as an artist and a man,” his sons wrote. “A loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather, he was adored and will be deeply missed.” No cause of death was provided.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers go full “We Didn’t Start the Fire” on their new song, “Poster Child,” from their upcoming album, Unlimited Love, out April 1 via Warner Records.

Netflix has confirmed that 38 new original series, movies and specials will be debuting on the streaming service in February. Leading off the lineup is the first season of the fantasy horror series “Locke & Key,” which is inspired by the comic series crafted by Stephen King’s son, Joe Hill. Among other shows launching their first seasons in the shortest month of the year are “Gentefied” and “Unstoppable.”

Also on tap is the sophomore editions of the sci-fi series “Altered Carbon” and the crime drama “Narcos: Mexico.” And look for the long-awaited sequel “To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You,” which continues the story from the teen romantic comedy that was one of the most streamed films of 2018.

With each month that passes, Netflix subscribers brace for a new wave of content – movies, TV shows, binge-worthy Netflix Originals… that kind of thing.

But in order to make way for that fresh deluge of entertainment, the streaming service sheds a number of titles, and February 2020 is no different. So as subscribers prepare themselves for Altered Carbon season 2 and Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution, they must also bid farewell to the likes of District 9, Gangs of New York and The Matrix Trilogy. Though surely the first Matrix film is the only one worthy of a goodbye. The sequels? Not so much.

Horror fans will be forced to bid adieu to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, too, while much of the Jeopardy! series will be leaving the Netflix service on February 27th. It’s part and parcel of the company’s ‘revolving door’ approach to content; as new material is added...

Netflix is out with its list of every new movie and TV show being added to the streaming service, and everything we have to say goodbye to in February.

Highlights include “To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You,” the sequel to last year’s smash-hit, “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” starring Noah Centineo and Lana Condor. That’s out Feb. 12.

“Horse Girl,” starring Alison Brie as the titular socially-awkward equine enthusiast, is out Feb. 7. That same day, “Locke & Key” makes its series debut, following three siblings and their mother who return to their ancestral home after their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances.

“Gentefied” from America Ferrera and Wilmer Valderrama arrives Feb. 21, and follows a Boyle Heights family trying to save their father’s taco shop.

Phil Rosenthal and David Wild have partnered with Cadence13 on a new podcast titled “Naked Lunch,” Variety has learned exclusively.

The new weekly podcast will see the two long-time friends inviting some of the biggest names in television, film, theater, music and more to join them revealing conversations and an actual free lunch. One of their first guests will be comedy legend Carl Reiner, pictured above with the two hosts. The series, launching this summer, will be available across multiple platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify, iHeart, Stitcher, TuneIn and more.

“The show is called ‘Naked Lunch’ because we will all be completely naked,” Rosenthal and Wild say. “Luckily for the audience, this is only a podcast.”

The American Cinema Editors has announced the nominees of their 66th Annual Ace Eddie Awards and J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is one of the contenders in the Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic) category while Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man" is a nominee in the Comedy category.

Writer/director Nancy Meyers ("The Intern," "It's Complicated," "Something's Gotta Give") will receive the Ace Golden Eddie Filmmakers of the Year Award. Winners will be announced during a January 29 gala at the Beverly Hilton.

American Cinema Editors (Ace) today announced nominations for the 66th Annual Ace Eddie Awards recognizing outstanding editing in ten categories of film, television and documentaries. Winners will be revealed during Ace’s annual black-tie awards ceremony on Friday, January 29, 2016 in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel and will be presided over by Ace President, Alan Heim.

As previously announced, writer/director Nancy Meyers will receive the Ace Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year award. Two Career Achievement honorees will be announced later this week.
