Gour Hari Dastaan: The Freedom File (2015)

Gour Hari Das, a freedom fighter who works in Khadi Kraft and lives along with his wife & son, lives a content life in his neighborhood. However, one day when his son is unable to secure college admission for lack of a Freedom Fighter's Certificate, he feels the need to establish his identity. In the quest for this piece of paper to prove his authenticity to his son, his neighbors & to the world, he begins a journey that sucks up almost his entire life.

Slow, Reality

Gour Hari Dastan is a biographical film which showcases the struggle of Indians, they face in daily life against the government, whether it is regarding any pension/freedom fighter paper, it shows the struggle of how government is in INdia, How the working class people in India are, not caring about work, just waiting for bribery, to get the work done. A slow movie in its pace. But a must watch.

Mumbai-based Das, an unsung hero of India's freedom struggle knocked for 32 years on 321 doors, climbed 66,000 steps, wrote 1,043 letters, pleaded 2,300 times in the post-Independent India just to prove that he was the same Gour Hari Das, whom Mahatma Gandhi had blessed and who was jailed for being a part of the freedom movement against the British Raj.

Goofs
Around 0:30:30 during a flashback scene of 1982, when Hari Das' family were shifting their home, several modern day vehicles, such as Wagon R, Maruti Swift, Eon, etc. that did not exist back then, are seen to pass by their luggage lorry.
