It's been three years since we last saw Michael C. Hall as our beloved vigilante serial killer in Dexter: New Blood, and while he made a brief appearance at the beginning of Original Sin, Dexter: Resurrection will feature his full-time return to the character first made famous in the novels by Jeff Lindsay. This time around, Hall will be joined by a lot of fresh names, but we now know of another familiar face from the original series that will also be along for the ride: Jimmy Smits.

Per Deadline, Smits will reprise his role of Miguel Prado, despite Dexter killing him in the Season 3 episode "The Damage a Man Can Do." At first a friend to Dexter who knew of his Dark Passenger, Prado's own lust for revenge clouded his decision-making as things progressed, leading to the Assistant District Attorney finding himself wrapped in plastic on Dexter's kill table.

Eric Stonestreet, who famously played Cameron Tucker on all 11 seasons of Modern Family, has been tapped to recur on the series in what is believed to be a serial killer role.

The exclusive comes from Deadline, the same outlet that previously reported both Neil Patrick Harris and Krysten Ritter's casting news. Apparently, all three characters are playing serial killers as part of their guest-starring arcs. It remains to be seen if they're going to work together in some capacity, or just be one of several villains that Dexter has to eliminate.

Deadline says Stonestreet has been cast as a character named Al. Like the actor, Al also hails from the Midwest and will reportedly appear in four episodes as part of a "high profile guest-arc."

Krysten Ritter has joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection. Her role is going to be wildly different from the more heroic character she played in Jessica Jones, according to details divulged about her character.

Per Deadline, Ritter will play a murderous role in the upcoming Dexter sequel series. She will reportedly portray "Mia Lapierre," a "renowned sommelier whose alter ego is the 'Lady Vengeance' serial killer." Of course, serial killers often fall prey to Michael C. Hall's Dexter Morgan, meaning Ritter's Mia could be the next major threat for the titular vigilante. Ritter had recently shared that she was heading to New York to start work on an unspecified project, fueling rumors of a return as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, but Deadline has now confirmed that she was referring to Dexter: Resurrection.

The cast of the next Dexter series is expanding! Emmy-winning actor Peter Dinklage has joined Dexter: Resurrection, the upcoming sequel to Dexter: New Blood that just started filming recently. Michael C. Hall will also return to play the titular character in the upcoming show. Hall has also been involved in the ongoing prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin, the finale of which airs this Friday, Feb. 14.

According to the report from Variety, Dinklage is playing a character named Leon Prater, "a billionaire venture capitalist" with a dark side. It sounds like he could be one of Dexter's next adversaries. Dinklage is one of several new additions to the franchise.
