The anonymous pornographer who teamed Eve Orlon and the divine (and rarely hired) Mindy Wilson to star in THE YOUNG HITCHHIKERS was what the uneducated hypesters today call a "visionary" -too bad he (or she??) was so untalented. The duo later appeared together in LOVE AFTER SCHOOL, but that was strictly an Eve vehicle.
This is soft-core porn slapped together in slipshod fashion that really works better if XXX content is involved, to lessen the blow (so to speak) to the viewer's psyche.
Mindy, who won my heart in such obscure but powerful period films as FLOSSIE and THE MEMOIRS OF FANNY HILL is teamed as jail-bait with sort-of-superstar Eve Orlon (she's super with us fans) as the title teens, given a ride by a hippie guy as music by The Byrds plays. They go back to his suburban-style pad and he slips a mickey into the champagne served to the gals.
He strips them and ties them up for bondage action as the Music of the Spheres from late in Kubrick's 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY soundtrack plays. The girls wake up and cooperate with him as he performs soft-core cunnilingus. Sex is simulated, with plenty of fake cum dribbled from the girls' mouths.
Mindy and Eve turn the tables and tie him up (to the strains of "Everyday People"), stealing his car. Then they pick up a male hitchhiker as banjo plays "Rocky Mountain Breakdown".
At this point the movie changes completely, dispensing with Mindy and Eve entirely. A new couple as the cast dry hump in an empty pool, as a busty girl watches them and a novelty song plays on the soundtrack. A threesome ensues, and the resolution to this desultory second half section of the film is unsatisfactory -no shock there.
For the opening scenes of two great porn ladies in action, I'm glad I got to see this junker.
