A real-world injury just forced The Equalizer to feature a major change. Though The Equalizer season 6 has not yet been confirmed, season 5 is continuing its story without concern for its future. Robyn's team has become a massive draw for CBS, which is even considering introducing a spin-off show. With so much success, the show's stars should feel somewhat comfortable that they will still have work by the end of this year. The show has seen five seasons in just four years, which is a sign of CBS' reliance on it.
Unfortunately, not everything about the show has been stable. In an interview with Screen Rant's Rachel Foertsch, Adam Goldberg (Harry) opened up about a surprising change to his character. Because Goldberg hurt his wrist in a motorcycle crash, Harry appears in a cast in season 5, episodes 5 and 6. The show blames the injury on carpal tunnel surgery, but the true...

Bruce Willis may have retired from acting due to his health condition, but fans will always remember him as one of the hallmarks of action films and will always be synonymous with John McClane. Interestingly, a new report revealed that he almost embodied another major action hero and that is John Wick!

Of course, it’s hard to imagine the Baba Yaga played by anyone other than Keanu Reeves. After all, he owned that character, and not only did it revive his career but it also propelled his stardom to new heights. Even though Willis did not play the famed hitman on the big screen, he still has a lot of similar films where he delivered an outstanding action performance!

Jason Momoa's standout film, Braven, is his highest-rated non-franchise action movie, according to Rotten Tomatoes. Despite being overshadowed by big-name franchise roles, Braven showcases an exceptional action performance by Momoa. Compared to the underwhelming Sweet Girl, Momoa's Braven offers a more engrossing and satisfying viewing experience with its solid plot.
With big-name film franchises populating Jason Momoa's acting catalog, it can be easy to miss out on some of the actor's standalone gems, which has become the case of a 2018 action thriller he helmed. Momoa has a history of doing it big in his career, securing early opportunities in popular TV titles like Baywatch (1999-2001), Stargate: Atlantis (2005-2009), and, later, Game of Thrones (2011-2012). Because of these notable roles, Momoa's film career throughout the 2000s largely fell through the cracks. Fortunately, Momoa's efforts as GoTs Khal Drogo shot him into another level of stardom, occasioning more pronounced movie breaks.

Boy Kills World earned a Fresh 64% score on Rotten Tomatoes. This marks star Famke Janssen's third Fresh score since a long Rotten streak began in 2009. Janssen's future Fresh prospects lie more in upcoming TV projects than in movies.

The action-comedy movie follows the title character Boy (Bill Skarsgrd) as he enacts bloody revenge on the people who killed his family in a violent post-apocalyptic future. The ensemble cast of the movie also includes Happy Death Day's Jessica Rothe, Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery, X-Men's Famke Janssen, District 9's Sharlto Copley, Stranger Things' Brett Gelman, Old Spice commercial star Isaiah Mustafa, and the voice of Bob's Burgers' H. Malum is, according to its press release “a bold and expanded reimagining of the 2014 horror cult classic, Last Shift”. Now some may simply take that as a fancy way of saying it’s a remake of a film that’s less than ten years old. But there’s a difference between this and your average remake, it’s the work of the original director Anthony Diblasi and his co-writer Scott Poiley.
I considered revisiting Last Shift before watching Malum because while I remembered the basic plot and that I really liked the first hour then being let down by the final act, I didn’t recall a lot of the details. But, in part due to how knowing what to expect spoiled the impact of another recent reimagining,...

Evanescence’s first big year out in 2003 was a whirlwind rush to the top for the band. Their debut single, “Bring Me to Life,” landed on the Daredevil soundtrack and subsequently made deft parkour moves up to Number Five on the Billboard singles chart thanks to the way the band blended nü-metal aggression with frontwoman Amy Lee’s gothic leanings. Within a few months, their first album, Fallen climbed to Number Three on the Billboard 200 (eventually, it would be certified seven-times platinum), thanks to the similarly dusky hard-rock single “Going Under...

I’m not normally a fan of rogue-likes, dungeon crawlers, or any kind of RPG-esque video games. I equate game like that to spending hours and hours grinding, leveling up, crafting weapons etc., and I just don’t have the patience. But, given that reviewers should be open-minded when it comes to covering different titles that are outside their comfort zone, that doesn’t stop me giving such games a chance. And I’m glad I did in this case, because if I had I wouldn’t have ever got a chance to play – and ultimately Love – Going Under.
Going Under is a satirical dungeon crawler about exploring the cursed ruins of failed tech startups. As an unpaid intern in the dystopian city of Neo-Cascadia, you’ll wield office junk as weaponry as you make your way through the offbeat procedural dungeons beneath your company campus; battling through the remains...

It seems like Bruce Willis has truly thrown in the proverbial towel as of late. The vast majority of his output over the last few years has either earned only a limited theatrical release or skipped cinemas altogether and went straight to streaming/VOD. Some of these efforts include Precious Cargo, Marauders and Once Upon a Time in Venice. And if you haven’t heard of any of them, we don’t blame you.
Still, Willis seems to be content with starring in mediocre projects and collecting his cheque at the end of each one. That was certainly the case when he signed on for 2018 thriller Acts of Violence, a disposable and cheaply made action flick that just arrived on Netflix last week. And despite an abysmal Rotten Tomatoes score of 0%, it’s absolutely dominating on the platform today, as it’s currently the 8th most-watched movie on Netflix.

You know, Nicolas Cage gets a lot of criticism for acting in straight-to-digital movies these days. But for every Vengeance: A Love Story or The Humanity Bureau, he sprinkles in little seen gems like Mandy and Color Out of Space as well as a memorable performance in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He’s also set to play Joe Exotic, so at least he still tries to challenge himself. Bruce Willis, on the other hand, has officially thrown in the proverbial towel.
In the past nine years, he’s starred in 20 movies that have either had a limited theatrical release or skipped the cinema and went straight to your living room. Some of the names of these films include Precious Cargo, Marauders and Once Upon a Time in Venice. And before you think otherwise, that last one has absolutely zero connection to Quentin Tarantino.

Bruce Willis‘ last few pictures have mostly been junky, nearly straight-to-vod fare such as “Once Upon A Time In Venice,” “Marauders,” “Precious Cargo,” and “Extraction.” Basically, movies you didn’t even know existed. But “Death Wish” will see the actor hopefully back with something decent to work with as he teams up with Eli Roth on the remake of the Charles Bronson classic.

I genuinely have no idea what to make of Once Upon A Time In Venice. Like, why was it made? Who thought “yes, this is definitely the best we can manage” and released it to the public? Just before I looked up the career of co-writer / director Mark Cullen, I had the creeping realisation that this felt like a double episode of a basic-cable light drama show like “Burn Notice”, only not quite as good; it turns out Cullen has previous form in TV, being the creator of two failed shows (“Back In The Game” and “Mr Robinson”), and also the writer of “Cop Out”, the comedy that director Kevin Smith described as the most miserable experience of his life.
But I feel like Mr Cullen shouldn’t get the lion’s share of the blame for this – that must go to top-billed Bruce Willis, who...

That hissing sound you hear is the air being let out of Bruce Willis as he struggles mightily to reconnect with his once-vital action-comedy chops in the dim, unfunny “Once Upon a Time in Venice.” It’s bad enough that Sergio Leone is inexplicably evoked by the title: there’s nothing epic, mythic, artful or entertaining about this tired private eye lark set in Los Angeles’ seaside enclave (not the Italian city), and it barely knows how to tell a story. A more appropriate storybook-themed title would have been, “Meanwhile, You Lose 90 Minutes.” As for Willis, there’s no happily ever after.

Today marks the release of a new action comedy with Bruce Willis, and a curious thing it is. Once Upon a Time in Venice sports a truly incredible cast, who are then placed as cartoon characters in a shallow pastiche of crime stories. Enter a world where every person is defined by stereotype, yet still gets introduced by a narrator. The plot revolves about Bruce Willis' character Steve, a private detective in the Venice Beach area of Los Angeles. Steve's life is a bit of a mess, and together with his wimpy nerd assistant John (Thomas Middleditch) and old friend Dave (John Goodman) he tries to solve a number of weird cases. These range from finding a local missing beautiful young sex addict (hint: she's...

Demetrius Shipp Jr. looks a lot like Tupac Shakur. While in some circles that could be enough to recommend the first-time actor for the part of the beloved late rapper, it’s a casting choice indicative of much bigger issues in Benny Boom’s long-gestating biopic, “All Eyez on Me.” The casting choice suggests that a commitment to accuracy, but that doesn’t make up for many other shortcomings in a movie that does no favors to Tupac’s legacy.
Opening with a political urgency that belies a very different project, Boom’s film (penned by Jeremy Haft, Eddie Gonzalez, and Steven Bagatourian) initially reads as a timely rallying cry around Shakur’s legacy, before devolving into a paint-by-the-numbers biopic that unspools with as much energy as a Wikipedia entry. Framed in the most uninspiring way possible — with Hill Harper playing a journalist who visits Tupac in prison to reflect...

If my calculations are correct, 47 meters comes out to 154 feet. Being trapped in a shark cage at that depth surely isn’t pleasant, and neither, it turns out, is watching a movie about such an ordeal: “47 Meters Down” sinks rather than swims, even if there are a few buoyant moments along the way.
Mandy Moore stars in Johannes Roberts’ entry in the vaunted shark-thriller genre, which finds her on vacation in Mexico. Her motivation is of the male variety, of course: Lisa was recently left by her boyfriend for being “too boring” and envisions this south-of-the-border excursion as a means of proving her ex wrong via exciting selfies of her living her best life. Since sitting poolside and late-night dance parties are totally basic, she eventually relents when her younger, more outgoing sister Kate (Claire Holt) suggests they go swimming with the sharks.

While there’s little chance that Bruce Willis will ever again get to work with the kind of material and behind-the-camera talent that helped make him a wiseass action star in the 1980s and ’90s, he tries the fourth or fifth next best thing with Once Upon A Time In Venice, a tiresome imitation of smart-alecky Shane Black whodunits like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Last Boy Scout. Willis plays Steve Ford, a Venice Beach private eye and disgraced loose cannon cop whose beloved Parson Russell terrier gets abducted by drug dealer Spyder (a conceptually Latino Jason Momoa) while he’s supposed to be working a case for local real estate developer Lou The Jew (Adam Goldberg)—a simple enough premise that first-time director Mark Cullen and his co-writer and brother, Robb Cullen, excruciate into 35 minutes. (The dog doesn’t even show up until the 20-minute mark.) That ...

Before it takes a bizarre dark twist that would make M. Night Shyamalan bristle with envy, “The Book of Henry” is a very familiar sort of family drama: Single mother Susan (Naomi Watts) juggles a thankless waitressing gig with caring for her two young children. One them, 11-year-old Henry (Jaeden Lieberher) exhibits above-average intelligence, managing the family finances and providing a practical voice to offset Susan’s chaotic personal life. Henry’s idiosyncratic personality leads to a number of whimsical, bittersweet exchanges. Somebody gets cancer, and the movie becomes a painfully obvious tearjerker.
And then, quite suddenly, the sentimentalism gives way to Hitchcockian suspense, and the most ludicrous conceit of any American movie this year. It’s a high-stakes gamble that doesn’t quite pay off, and at times courts disaster, but it’s fascinating to watch the movie go there.
That’s due, in part, to the conditions surrounding its existence.

Bruce Willis has been creeping up on Nicolas Cage’s bread and butter — C-level action movies that pass through the multiplex with little in the way of fanfare and less in the way of actual audience interest — for a few years now, turning in roles in mostly underseen films like “Fire With Fire,” “Precious Cargo,” and “Vice” with startling regularity (while, somehow, still landing genuinely exciting parts in films like the upcoming “Death Wish” remake and the long-hyped “Glass”). But Mark Cullen’s ruthlessly boring and decidedly dismal “Once Upon a Time in Venice” marks a new low in Willis’ still-trucking action career, one that even Cage would likely flinch at, even if it does feature an entire sequence dedicated to naked skateboarding.

Plot: A down-on-his-luck private eye (Bruce Willis) is pressed into working for a drug dealer (Jason Momoa) when his beloved dog is kidnapped. Review: Once Upon A Time In Venice is a mixed blessing for Bruce Willis fans. John Goodman and Bruce Willis have been friends since 1979, but somehow never worked together before “Once Upon a Time in Venice,” the action-comedy that hits theaters and video-on-demand on Friday, June 16. The directorial debut of writer-producer Mark Cullen, “Once Upon a Time in Venice” stars Willis as a Venice Beach P.I. who teams up with his surf shop-owner best friend (Goodman) to track down a drug dealer’s stolen cocaine. The film co-stars Jason Momoa, Famke Janssen, Thomas Middleditch and Adam Goldberg.

Inspired by the upcoming Bruce Willis action/comedy(?) Once Upon A Time In Venice, John McDermott from Mel wrote up a detailed history of a character almost as old as the story itself: the dog-owning antihero. If you’re a fan of brooding action movies, this is likely an archetype you’re familiar with. He’s emotionally damaged, knows how to kick ass, and keeps other human beings at a certain, controlled distance. But, he also has a dog, and damn it, does he love that dog. In fact, his love for the dog is the only cue to the audience that not all is lost for this guy. He has some room for love left in his cold, broken heart, and that love is all for his canine companion.
The dog-owning antihero can be seen in everything from The Road Warrior to The Odyssey to John Wick. In some...

Hayden Christensen only has one shot to save his son's life in the new trailer and poster for First Kill with Bruce Willis. This action-thriller is the latest from director Steven C. Miller, who recently wrapped production on the highly-anticipated Escape Plan 2: Hades, starring another big screen icon, Sylvester Stallone. First Kill actually marks the third collaboration between Steven C. Miller and Bruce Willis, following 2015's Extraction and last year's Marauders.
Lionsgate debuted the first trailer today, along with the poster which features both Hayden Christensen and Bruce Willis. In order to reconnect with his son Danny (Ty Shelton), big shot Wall Street broker Will (Hayden Christensen) takes his family on a hunting trip to the cabin where he grew up. While out hunting with Danny, the trip takes a deadly turn when they stumble upon several robbers and witness the murder of one of the criminals.

Hey, remember John Wick and how good of a movie it was? Remember what made it good? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't the dog. But the filmmakers of a new film called Once Upon a Time in Venice would have you believe that the new big thing in Hollywood is action stars who love dogs. And sadly the action star they got is one of my favorites... Bruce Willis.
Am I sad that he's in this? No, because I feel like he should be getting work. I'm more disappointed that he's deciding to involve himself in this rather than more quality productions. The trailer just seems like he's just barely making it through this movie. Remember in Die Hard, how angry and animated he was? Well, we don't see that in the trailer for this film. It's like Clerks meets John Wick. Bruce Willis's dog is kidnapped,...

"What are you doing?" "I gotta go steal back some drugs for these gang guy so I can get my dog back." Rlj Entertainment has released an official trailer for a new action comedy titled Once Upon a Time in Venice, starring Bruce Willis and John Goodman. This film seems like a straight up John Wick rip off, but maybe it's not even that, perhaps it's a John Wick spoof, a "SoCal John Wick". There's a badass guy in disguise, and someone steals his dog, so to get him back he has to bust some heads. Simple as that. The cast includes plenty of cool people: Jason Momoa, Famke Janssen, Elisabeth Röhm, Kal Penn, Adam Goldberg, Thomas Middleditch, Stephanie Sigman, and Wood Harris. This kind of looks fun, but it also seems like it could be terrible, hopefully not. It's from the same writer as Cop Car, for reference. Enjoy.

Bruce Willis, private eye? The bonkers first trailer for Robb and Mark Cullen’s Once Upon a Time in Venice has stormed online today, and it features the Hollywood action veteran scouring the streets of Los Angeles in search of a missing dog.
Infusing the zany comedy of Red with the John Wick franchise – Bruce Willis’ cute little pup, Buddy, has somehow wound up in the hands of a formidable drug dealer played by Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa – the first promo for Once Upon a Time in Venice dials the action up to 11, and rips the knob off right around the time when Willis’ down-but-not-out private investigator Steve Ford is seen jumping off a balcony into a nearby pool. And that’s not even the most ridiculous thing you’ll find in the teaser above.
