Reading some of the reviews on here, I expected this movie to be hilarious and be a good laugh. The movie wasn't as funny as I hoped it would but I did giggle here and there. Overall though this movie had much better storyline than the first and seemed to be more put together. Once you get passed the scene where the girls make a bet, you won't want to stop watching whether the movie is great to you or not... just because you're going to want to know what happened who won the bet.
Honestly, I hoped it was good, and it really was. For a movie not taking it too seriously, they did a pretty good job. Laughs, drama, love.. but only a bit of each, enough to give birth to a quite nice film.
I recommend to watch the first Selfie before, so that you get the whole story. But this second one is better, I could see the progress, the development of each Character, they touch sensitive subjects like love, family and even prostitution. I think it's a great saga of Romanian life and style, and not only.
It depends on what you want to see also, remember it's a comedy so prepare to laugh a bit as well, the movie is not going too deep. Which is not bad, its purpose was not to get profound or philosophical or something.
Anyway, great job, the acting is very good even if Most of the cast are young actors. You can feel them, you can cope with them. A plus for inviting some famous stars, great actors and musicians, it's funny to see them even if it's only for a minute or a scene, as Romanian I really enjoyed to have these surprises all along.
Hoping for a Selfie 3 !!
I started to watch this movie because im a romanian, i know we dont make good movies often, us romanians, but i wanted to give this one a chance. I clicked play, and from the first scene i knew that this is that kind of movie that wants to be funny or relatable but idk in my case wasnt. I skipped to the next scene and the next and its like those jokes from amy shoomer or whats her name lol. Im writing this review cauze i dont want you to waste your time, even if its 10 min only skippin non stop.
Like I said, I had a couple of hours to kill and I went in to see this movie mostly because I knew nothing about it and all of the others had a bad rep.
This is not a triple A movie by any means, but its mixture of comedy, drama, awkwardness and suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat for 2 hours straight.
I can't remember the last time I laughed this much at a movie. It tackles most modern clichés of Bucharest life (which are pretty much similar to most eastern European cities), it has its feet on the ground but at the same time it doesn't take itself too seriously and the immersion is almost unbroken for the whole run time.
Not all the actors perform perfectly, but the main cast has an incredibly natural delivery, even on the cheesy lines.
All in all if you're looking to have fun and lighten up your evening, I strongly suggest you see this in the theater, movies like this deserve support.

Or just love me ... a little bit. The movie is asking us to stay connected with our main characters and it does quite a decent job keeping them likeable. And while there is not much nudity, there are quite a lot of - let's call them adult situations. Mostly heard rather than seen and if you don't feel kinky in a certain way, not really titilating.
Having said, the acting is also quite good and the movie keeps the tension quite high overall. You'll get invested (in theory and I do think the movie succeeds in that way) in the characters and their "ultimate goal". Maybe there are a couple too many characters, but the balance still works (in my humble opinion)
