The Disney+ revival of “Malcolm in the Middle” will see the returns of Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield, according to multiple media reports. The two stars will reprise their roles as Francis and Reese, respectively. However, the role of Dewey will now be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.
The role of Dewey was originally played by Erik Per Sullivan, who has since stepped away from the industry. Ellsworth-Clark previously appeared in “Fargo,” “Wynonna Earp” and “The Expanse.”
In addition to Masterson, Berfield and Ellsworth-Clark, the revival will star Anthony Timpano (“Riverdale”), who will play Malcolm’s youngest brother Jamie, and Vaughan Murrae (“Before I Change My Mind”), who will play Malcolm’s youngest sibling Kelly, a new character who is the sixth child of this family. She is described as someone who is “self-sufficient, gets good grades and already wiser than most of the family.” “The Fabelmans” actor Keeley Karsten will play Malcolm’s daughter,...

On one level, the return of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” with Sarah Michelle Gellar — the news of which Variety broke today — is the most 2020s thing that could happen. Updating a beloved TV series from the last four decades with at least some of the original cast has become a central pillar of our current popular culture. From “And Just Like That” on Max to “That ’90s Show” on Netflix to “Star Trek: Picard,” “Frasier” and whatever new version of “Dexter” is streaming on Paramount+, we’re habitually invited now to live in updated versions of our TV pasts.
A new “Buffy,” however, feels more totemic. There are all the TV history reasons, of course: Dismissed when it premiered on the nascent network The WB in 1997 as a mid-season replacement, “Buffy” rapidly roundhouse kicked itself into the vanguard of both television form and content. By transforming the horror movie final...

As far as supernatural TV shows go, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the most beloved and well-known. Premiering in the late '90s, the show brought powerful female protagonist Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) to the forefront of mainstream television and allowed her to take the reins for herself. To this day, Buffy remains one of the most influential characters ever created. Her strength, style, and sense of humor all blend to create an unforgettable heroine. While many shows have tried to replicate the lightning-in-a-bottle effect that Buffy the Vampire Slayer captured during its run, none have come quite as close as the supernatural Western series Wynonna Earp. In fact, if you find yourself missing Buffy and the rest of the Scooby Gangs shenanigans, Wynonna Earp is your next ideal binge-watch.

Another beloved movie is about to undergo the remake / reboot treatment next year. 1999’s horror-comedy Idle Hands was a box-office bomb on its initial release, but has since entered the realm of cult favorites.
Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) and Billy Bryk have been signed to write a “reimagining” of Idle Hands, which is planned to be released in the summer of 2025. They are also in talks to possibly direct the remake. Wolfhard and Bryk previously worked together on another horror-comedy, Hell of a Summer, which they wrote and directed, and starred in together. The two received a lot of critical acclaim for Hell of a Summer, which is quite a feat given their young ages; Wolfhard is 22, and Bryk is 25.
Finn Wolfhard achieved early notoriety because of his portrayal of Mike Wheeler in Netflix series Stranger Things. He had previously appeared in the series 100 and Supernatural, but as we all remember,...

At New York Comic Con, Wynonna Earp creator Emily Andras sat down with Colliders Therese Lacson to discuss her latest project, Wynonna Earp: Tales from Purgatory, an audio drama that fills in the gaps between the original TV series and the recent movie Wynonna Earp: Vengeance. Wynonna Earp showrunner Emily Andras opens up about her hopes for the series' future on streaming.
Speaking to Collider, Andras was asked about the extra emphasis on sexuality and adult themes that were present in the recently released Wynonna Earp: Vengeance special, which premiered exclusively on Tubi. "Tubi was amazing," Andras said. "They were like, 'No rules. You can push the sexuality. You can definitely push the language.' The name of the game was elevation. Because we're doing a 90-minute special, we wanted to feel like you could only get it on Tubi in this format, but this isn't something you would've seen in Season 3, for example. So, I was stunned."

By now, you have seen Wynonna Earp: Vengeance on Tubi, and you know this special is much more than a fun detour in Purgatory.
This is a story with real consequences, and we caught up with creator Emily Andras to get her take on it.
Like all things Earp, Emily is passionate and filled with life. Don’t be alarmed when it appears as if the claws come out. The conversation was lighthearted and emotional and packed a punch. It’s exactly what you’d expect from the woman who brought Wynonna, Waverly, Doc, and Nicole to life!
Warning: Massive Spoilers Ahead! Don’t proceed if you haven’t already watched Vengeance!

Well, what a fantastic, if somewhat jarring, return to Wynonna!
I know. How mad are you? How mad are you? There’s not enough of you yelling at me.

When it comes to Western film and television, the genre isn't always combined with horror but the type of horror that typically follows the Western genre revolves around monsters that lurk beneath the scorching dirt. Based on the premise alone, the upcoming 90-minute Tubi special Wynonna Earp: Vengeance is no different except that it's a continuation of Syfy's 2016 series Wynonna Earp, and centers around more than just monsters. Longtime fans have been hoping for a return since the show ended in 2021 after four seasons, and while the original series ended somewhat happily, Team Earp is officially coming back. Before returning to Purgatory for Vengeance, let's take a trip down memory lane and recap what last played out on Wynonna Earp.

Wynonna Earp is one of those shows that never became hugely popular but that had a fiercely devoted fanbase for its entire run. Armed with her special gun Peacemaker, it's Wynonna's job to send reincarnated criminals called revenants back to hell. She did that for four straight seasons on Syfy, but still has unfinished business. She'll close the final chapter in Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, a 90-minute special dropping on Tubi on Friday, September 13. So very soon! Watch the trailer below:
“The past is never that far behind us, and some of it might be showing up looking for vengeance, so to speak, in the special,” creator Emily Andras teased to Entertainment Weekly, putting that writer's brain to good use with some colorful verbiage. “The heart, the laugh-out-loud wit and action-packed sequences that were always a part of the series are still in the special. This cast has not missed a step.

“Wynonna Earp” wasn’t going to keep the fans waiting forever for more stories.

Creator Emily Andras told Entertainment Weekly that the show had stories planned for a fifth season but Season 4 was – luckily – written with some closure in mind. Now the special will tie things up once and for all.
“We had been ordered for a season 4 and a season 5, but things were kind of up in the air,” Andras said. “I thought: It’s better to write an ending that is satisfying and if we’re blessed with another season, I can blow it all up. My gamble paid off, for better or for worse.”

Don't let anyone tell you Westerns are dead. They're apparently still alive and well on Netflix, where this week the docudrama "Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War" has been steadily climbing the streaming charts. According to viewership data site Flixpatrol, the series about the early American lawman is currently being bested in the top 10 most-watched English-language Netflix shows chart by just two other series: true crime docuseries "American Murder: Laci Peterson" and inexplicably popular girlboss rom-com "Emily in Paris."
If your Boomer dad hasn't yet told you about "Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War," let us do the honors. It's a six-episode Netflix-exclusive series that's a hybrid of narrative nonfiction, talking-head documentary, and intense reenactments. Wynonna Earp: Vengeance's trailer teases a charming return to form for fans of the cult-classic series. The Tubi special promises a fresh adventure, though it will also be a continuation of season 4. The cast's chemistry continues to shine, promising both heart and humor to the hotly anticipated reunion.
At San Diego Comic-Con's Wynonna Earp panel, Tubi dropped a first-look trailer for its hotly anticipated Wynonna Earp: Vengeance special, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Unlike other reunions or, as Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell) puts it in the trailer, "reboots" Wynonna: Earp Vengeance has a story worth telling. At Sdcc, Screen Rant learned that the 90-minute movie of sorts is a self-contained narrative. Even though Earpers like myself who have watched all four seasons will find a ton to love about the special, Vengeance is also more accessible to newcomers.
Despite a dedicated fanbase, Wynonna Earp was axed ahead of its fourth outing.

"History only remembers who won." And only the movies that are good. Tubi has revealed an official trailer for a TV movie spin-off called Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, a 90-min "special event" streaming for free on Tubi later this fall. This is based on the TV series also called Wynonna Earp, which ran from 2016 to 2021 on SyFy Channel. It originally starred Melanie Scrofano as the iconic western outlaw Wyatt Earp's great-great-granddaughter, Wynonna. Armed with her enchanted "Peacemaker" revolver, she battled resurrected spirits of notorious outlaws. In this new film, Wynonna Earp is coming home to battle her greatest foe yet: a psychotic seductress hellbent on revenge against her... and everyone she loves. Melanie Scrofano is back as Wynonna, co-starring with Tim Rozon, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, & Katherine Barrell. Tubi has been churning out tons of movies recently, beefing up their streaming offerings for anyone who wants to watch. This looks extra kooky,...

Despite a 7.7/10 rating on IMDb, 12 Monkeys is often overlooked in comparison to other time travel shows. The TV show expanded on the movie's narrative, delving into multiple timelines and giving characters depth. The show's complex time travel plots are navigated effectively and intelligently without feeling convoluted.
There has been a surge of time-travel sci-fi TV shows, and some of the best time-travel TV shows have come out in the last 10 years. Predictably, many of them have similar plots, like time traveling to warn against a future threat or having to stop something existential, but they are beloved by viewers regardless. However, there are many underrated time travel shows and movies that, despite often being forgotten about years after they have ended, are nonetheless worthy of recognition.
Part of the problem with complex time-travel sci-fi series is that, by virtue of their complex plots, they can be inaccessible to mainstream audiences.

When audiences come across noteworthy characters, and fall in love with them, there is always the persistent lure to bring such larger-than-life characters back on screen after their initial run has ended. This was the case with Melanie Scrofano's Wynonna Earp. After ending an acclaimed four-season run on TV back in 2021, it was announced that the television series, Wynonna Earp, was set for a 90-minute revival movie titled, Wynonna Earp: Vengeance. In the aftermath of the television series' run ending, series creator Emily Andras suggested, “There are a million different reasons to bring Wynonna back.” Now, taking to Instagram, Andras has revealed that filming which was underway in Calgary for the revival has now wrapped up.

However, across its 49 episodes, the supernatural Western horror series didn't have time to wrap up the many threads it dangled — partly due to the impact of Covid-19 on the fourth season's production.

Doc Holliday, the outlaw, dentist, and gunslinger, has been a mainstay in Western movies for decades. Famous actors like Kirk Douglas and Val Kilmer brought Holliday to life on screen with memorable performances. Shows like "Wynonna Earp" took a unique approach to Doc Holliday, adding supernatural elements to the legend.
The cowboy outlaw Doc Holiday has been played by dozens of famous actors in Western movies and television series over the last 100 years of filmmaking. The dentist, gunfighter, and gambler Holliday has appeared in Western movies and shows since the earliest days of American cinema and has been a mainstay in the Western genre for decades due to Holliday's longstanding association with the Wild West lawman Wyatt Earp. Wynonna Earp's season 4 finale provided happy endings for the beloved characters, but there are still questions that the special needs to answer. Doc and Wynonna choose each other and ride off into the sunset, but viewers need to know what they've been up to since season 4. Wayhaught exchanged vows and are committed to staying in Purgatory, but it's unclear if they're completely satisfied with their decision.
Unlike other shows that were canceled unexpectedly, Wynonna Earp didn't end on a massive cliffhanger. For the most part, the cult hit series used its season-four finale to give its beloved characters happy endings. However, there are still questions that the one-off special Wynonna Earp: Vengeance needs to answer. Instead of remaining plot-driven, Wynonna Earp's series finale honed in on its characters, giving most of them a proper sendoff. Of course, in the Ghost River Triangle, happy endings don't equate to idyllic, demon-free lives.

Wynonna Earp, the supernatural Western series, is being revived with a one-off feature-length special titled Wynonna Earp: Vengeance. The special will pick up the story after Season 4 and bring back the main cast, including Melanie Scrofano as the titular heroine. The show's creator, Emily Andras, promises a mix of character moments, challenges, and growth for the beloved characters.
Wynonna Earp is one of those rare TV shows that managed to avoid cancelation and has a decent run of episodes mostly thanks to the social media efforts of its dedicated fan base to keep it on air. Across its four seasons, the supernatural Western series followed up its rocky first run of episodes with two perfect seasons, before Season 4 brought it to a close in 2021 after five years on Syfy. Now the series has been given an unexpected but very welcome revival, with a one-off feature-length special giving the titular demon protector one last ride.

Based on the Idw comic book by Beau Smith, the Syfy series Wynonna Earp was “a fast-paced, contemporary thriller” that followed Wyatt Earp’s great-granddaughter as “she battles demons and other supernatural beings. Wynonna is a witty and wild modern day gunslinger, using her unique abilities and a dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice.” The show did well, running for four seasons and 49 episodes from 2016 to 2021. Despite the slew of cancelations of LGBTQ+-centered TV shows in 2023, the upcoming Wynonna Earp special brings hope for more representation. The Wynonna Earp: Vengeance special was commissioned by Tubi and features the return of the beloved LGBTQ+ pairing known as "Wayhaught." Wynonna Earp is a supernatural Western horror series with strong female characters and a fresh take on a familiar concept. The show features the significant relationship between Waverly Earp and Nicole Haught, known as Wayhaught, which is a significant achievement in terms of LGBTQ+ representation on television. Wynonna Earp avoids the "Bury Your Gays" trope by treating Wayhaught as a normal and central relationship in the show, showcasing a healthy and proud gay romance, and challenging the notion of traditional LGBTQ+ character portrayals.
Wynonna Earp is a supernatural Western horror series that also features one of TV’s most important relationships with Wayhaught. Based on the comic book series of the same name, Wynonna Earp follows the titular character Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano), the descendant of famed lawman Wyatt Earp. On her 27th birthday, Wynonna gains the supernatural powers of her family line and returns to her hometown of Purgatory in the United States Rocky Mountains.
