I found this show by mistake when flipping through channels. I am now hooked. Knowing family members that have been involved in the music business makes it even more intriguing to me. I have always loved both Queen Latifahs singing and acting skills and must say she plays someone you can only learn to love more and more each week. Benjamin Pratt plays the part of a man who you can both hate and love at the same time. Even though I am not familiar with the girls that portray the young singers.(though a bit risqué at times) they are exceptional. To be honest I can't think of any actor in this show that doesn't keep you wanting more. The only problem is every time I get interested in a new series they end up taking it off the air. I am pulling for this one!
The first episode of this show was pretty interesting. It's not really a new story line for a show but it's refreshing on bringing different races and sexualities together. However, by the third episode, the cringe started to really set in.
In this show, they don't really tell you how old the girls are. I guessed Star is to be going on 18 since she said to the social worker that she is almost legal to get her sister. So, I'm assuming Simone and Alexandra are 17. Simone my be able to pass as 17 but Alexandra and Star come across 20 plus, especially Star. They should have made them roommates in an apartment in their 20's trying to make it big. Ages 21-25, those ages are still young. Star is seducing people much older than her and club hopping at 17?
Star, Alexandra, and Simone all have this rebellious attitude. It's either against each other or others. Anyone who talks to them in this show they have to respond with attitude. It seems like it's in every episode thus far. They can relax sometimes. Carlotta, everyone in the salon, Alexandra's mom and dad have attitude too. It's too much attitude.
There are some things in this show that are cringy and corny. Like, some of the musical scenes and some of the things that are said in scenes. All in all the first episode was decent but it's going downhill from there for me. I don't want to elaborate too much because I don't want to spoil it for those who are interested in watching it.

You need to take Brandy off the show she is a bad Actor and who ever is doing her hair and wardrobe got her looking all stupid in a jumpsuits she is to too tooo heavy to be wearing a jumpsuit not.For real though get her off the show she sucks ugly to look at. Sorry that's just a fan's opinion. Shout out to Queen Latifah
The show moves like this issues, issues...drama, drama, drama. Great Music! I recommend physiological evaluations for everyone on the show because its high end crazy. I feel for the youngest member of the group, because her issues and drama was inflicted. Even with all the drama and issues- the music is smoking, and its the only reason I watch!

Surely the financial difficulties could be sorted to now get either a new series 4 made or to finalise the story with a movie to complete and draw up the loose ends after such a cliff hanging end to series 3.
All fans must demand that Netflix or Paramount find a way to finalise the storyline ending. By creating either a concluding final series 4 or by creating a concluding movie.
Loved all the performances, but I mostly loved Queen's performance as Carlotta, who concreted all the characters together.
We need far more TV to deal with these types of issues, and to show women as true survivors.
