A few words for those who are transgender, or have friends or colleagues who are...
Welcome to Geeks Vs Loneliness, our weekly slot where we try and talk about issues and things that may be affecting you, or someone you know. As always, we don't promise miracles, we don't have magic wands, and we are just us. But hopefully in these articles, over the year, there's something of use to you.
This week, we're talking about transgender and transphobia. And we're handing you over to Daniel Langrish-Beard...
[Please note: getting the language correct to talk about gender issues has been a challenge. We understand this is a sensitive area, and if we have got the tone slightly wrong here - and we've re-read and re-read this piece! - please do let us know. Our aim here is to offer support and friendship, not to upset people. Thank you]
I was at a staff party for the Southampton branch of Tgi Fridays about 15 years ago. It was in a big hotel somewhere in the New Forest and it was our Christmas do. Tgi Fridays did always seem to have great staff parties and to this one, for a change, people were allowed to bring guests. I had started to...

Danny Baker's autobiographical sitcom Cradle to Grave looks set to return for a second series.
Though the BBC is yet to make an official announcement, outgoing director of television Danny Cohen may have let the news slip on Twitter.
Thanks Danny. With Series Two commissioned all is well. Thank you for working with us on it! https://t.co/0RzCiEmKmz
— Danny Cohen (@DannyCohen) October 13, 2015
When Baker quipped that Cohen's "work is done" after commissioning his sitcom, he responded: "With Series Two commissioned all is well."
Speaking to Digital Spy, a BBC spokesperson said: "We're having active conversations about a further series of Cradle to Grave. It's too early to confirm any details."
Based on Baker's memoirs, Cradle to Grave stars Laurie Kynaston as a young Danny, with Peter Kay adopting a cockney accent to play the boy's father Fred.
The 8-part first series wraps with a double-bill on October 15 on BBC Two.

Rebecca Root has admitted that she would love to play the first female Doctor on Doctor Who.
The Boy Meets Girl star told Digital Spy that she mentioned her love of the show to a journalist and has now prompted a "mini-campaign".
"I did this talk with Kellie Maloney at the Radio Times Festival a couple of weeks ago and almost in passing, I mentioned something to the chair, a lovely journalist called Emma Barnett," she explained.
"I mentioned something about Steven Moffat being in the next tent along, because I vaguely know Steven. I was like, 'Oh my God, I've got to try and get hold of him - next time the Doctor comes up I'd love to do that'.
"And then Emma sort of outed me in the course of the conversation that we had and it was picked up and somebody tweeted it and then the Radio...

Rebecca Root has revealed that she's on "tenterhooks" waiting to see if Boy Meets Girl is renewed.
Root admitted to Digital Spy that it is "awful" waiting for news about whether or not the BBC Two show will get a second series.
"As far as I know, the production team have got storylines ready to go," she said. "They've got episode breakdowns, character breakdowns if the BBC says, 'Okay, please will you give us another series'. But until that time, everybody's just treading water really and keeping our fingers crossed.
"When people come up to me and say, 'Oh my God, I love the show', I say, 'Thank you so much but please also tell the BBC!' I have no influence at all whether a show's going to be commissioned or not but the people who watch will, so the more people who write to the Beeb, the better.
