The episode 10 was OK but things got really interesting in Episode 2. The episode 3 was a joke, kinda felt like a filler.ºº OK, it was funny and probably had some ironic tone, lots of adult job jokes, but I was expecting to see some continuation out of ep2.
The Xfiles borough some great memories from the first seasons and I remember that we also find some ep like ep 3 in the first seasons. So I am really looking forward for the next episodes. I also hope that there is many people watching this, so we can have a full 20 ep season. IT was a great come back.
I can't wait for ep 4.

So, at first while you're watching you think: «Ok! It is because they need to pay attention of wide audience». But there no any real scary or intriguing moments!
David and Gillian are brilliant actors! Chris Carter is phenomenal screenwriter
But, really! Bring back Steven Spielberg to stage and you will get hundreds million- dollars-success!
Finally, «I want to believe» you will fix this issue in next seasons!
Today is 7 points instead of 1 point (for 9 awesome previous seasons) ...

Mr. bbaker6212 obviously didn't catch the point of episode 3. It was hilarious and great to see the roles reversed. I especially liked the name, Guy Mann. Lol I was confused for a bit, But once I figured out what they were doing It was very entertaining. I may have to watch it again. This was one of my favorite shows Back in the day I just might start back at season 1. I guess I'll just keep writing so I can post this... Ten lines is way more than I need to review something. I am curious what episode four will be like. Should be entertaining nonetheless. Off subject and personal opinion, Gillian Anderson Got a little too much Botox..
I am not sure what is going on with broadcast network programmers but I think some are out to kill the sci-fi genre. Over the years I have been shocked by networks, like Fox, where new programming was offered after sporting events. Many times new programs were placed after GOLF (anyone remember hearing "now joining the regularly scheduled programming already in progress"?). Anyone wishing to investigate network shenanigans further should begin by visiting the "FireFly" article at Wikipedia (Fox killed the series claiming low ratings but the series went on break sale records at Amazon). Okay so when I noticed that episode-1 of "X-Files: Re-Opened" would air just after the AFC-NFC playoffs, I recorded everything from 7 PM to midnight. I was previously a fan of the original X-files as well as "The Lone Gunmen" so watched the first episode of Re-Opened expecting to be disappointed. I was wrong. This episode was everything I wanted to see in the previous series "and more". Now here's the kicker: I appear to be the only person in North America who watched episode-1 because no one I know was able to watch it or record it. The situation in Canada is a tiny bit different since episode-1 was shown 5 days later on Friday night on the SPACE channel. If you are able to do so, try to catch up by watching episode-1 online.
I am really excited with the re-opening of the X-Files and there are still lot of topics to be discussed and I am glad to see some familiar faces and also the popular monsters and comedic episodes. With the upcoming closing of Supernatural on it's last season.... sci-fi fans into the supernatural will definitely be looking for a new show to fill the void and what a great idea to bring back X-files to tackle more supernatural ideas combined with conspiracy theories and aliens. Scully and Mulder are definitely more seasoned and they have more experience to show for it and it is also good to see new talented actors and character brought into the re-opened x-files. I will definitely be looking forward to more episodes and I rate this 10 out of 10 and kudos to people on fox on bringing this back in line with the 21st century... The truth is still out there.

Had high expectations from X-Files. Religiously followed the previous editions, but the new one made a decent start but turned horrible by the third episode.
Episode two was kinda OK not great but just OK.
Third episode was a total drag and I was contemplating leaving it in middle but kept thinking that this is X-files and it will become better but I was wrong...
I wish I had turned it off in between.
Acting was not great either what happened to these people. Looks like they have changed writers.
Really disappointed..:-(

these new characters "Miller" and "Einstein". Miller is OK but Einstein was annoying as hell! (Not saying how or why) but I would say the stories are lacking! Did enjoy seeing Mulder and Sculley back together again but it wasn't like seasons 1-7 will be a shame to see them leave they made The x-Files interesting. For the acting it didn't seem as Mulder (David) or Scully (Gillian, who by the way is still gorgeous in 2016) were trying their best and if they were they're out of practice but the script itself that could use some work. I do like Chris Carters work but I hope he's not changing the series too much so he can get a bigger fan base.. so in my opinion the new series gets a 6, the older series (1-7) on the other hand I think 9 maybe 10.

I really enjoyed the old x-files (till some point, when it started to be kind of repetitive).
When i saw the promos i was really hyped and was thinking to myself "man, they're finally going to end what it was started and blow every viewers mind"
Damn, i was totally wrong.
The first episode got me, and i was like "yeah, cool, seems like we're back in action", little did i know what was to come.
Then, i don't know what happened, it turned out really bad and sad, it looks like Mulder and Scully are tired all the time, seems like they're not even trying. After watching episode 5 i was "really? what the hell? They must've changed the directors, this is bs". They aren't even trying anymore, the episodes stories are BAD, very BAD, has no science or mystery, it seems like it was written by a 12 YO!!
"oh man ouhhohh, lets take some shrooms ehhhhehhh, totally going to work out, genius ehhhh"

- Being a little more serious now, do not expect outstanding performances or episodes with hard work on it. The only thing outstanding here is the series name "X-Files".

Some of the more negative reviews seem to be written by those who take their TV very seriously. I thought the return was a great mix of weird, scary, funny, mysterious, apocalyptic and crazy. Come to think of it, that's what I liked about the original series, too. So now the characters are older, did we expect them to be 20-somethings? It's not the 90s anymore, so the impending doom of the millennium has been and gone. Now the darkness is different. It's bigger. The new young characters are perfectly in tone with the whole charisma of the series: ultra-serious, naive, smart, unintentionally funny (thanks to the writers and actors, it doesn't seem labored), sometimes out-of-control, etc. People wanting to see the original series should buy the DVDs. Me, I'm older too, and I like the new series. I hope it sticks around, and that people can lighten up a bit on the hard-core expectations that it stick to what it "should" be. Thankfully, though, the subtle, self-mocking humor that has always been a part of the series hasn't gone anywhere.
I agree with the person who wondered what the heck is wrong with Fox's scheduling, though. It made no sense at all, unless they were trying to kill the series before it started.

Looked good at first episode, OK in second, then things turned horribly wrong in episode 3. It's like a completely different series. Did they change writers or the director? It was trying to be funny and came off like a bad version of Evil Dead or some lame zombie flick. Just awful. If 4th episode is like the 3rd I'm out. I'll leave it to the young zombie/vampire fans.

I live in the UK and this new series will not air until Monday,so i downloaded the first 3 episodes, episode 1 and 2 were quite good,we get straight back into the stories without going over old ground or long boring back stories,so i was looking forward to episode 3 and seriously !!! "carry on screaming" crossed with "Vacancy" movies is all i can say,i could only watch 15mins before turning it off.it was Awful,as a life time fan of X-Files,i really couldn't believe what i was watching.i am totally lost for words how BAD it was.the actors said they would consider doing another X-Files series if the Ratings were good and had good fan feedback, lets just say, unfortunately i think we wont be seeing a new series ever again after episode 3....unless the rest of the series it totally amazing.

I never write any review, I never wanted to write any, but episode 3 was impossible to watch! I not even expected to be a great show but watchable and good to loose some time. But now I think is better to watch the wall of my room, is more nice and not offending my eyes and my thoughts.
After ten minutes of watching wondering if this show was made for audience under 10 years old, or is just a parody of X-Files? Not sure what to believe Acting is bad, conversation is childish, unbelievable, characters made dumb, story seen only in movies rated under 3... horrible!
Who write this episode? They were all on drugs like the people inside this episode?

If you saw the old X-files, this "reborn" version is a delusion. This is not worth the trust of the fans.
Mulder and Scully seem tired all the time - they DON'T WANT to believe. It's like the screenplay professionals were on strike when they did this. Or the actors are doing this because it compensates at the end (dollars).
If you "believe" the X-files spirit in the first and second episode, you will lose faith in the series when you'll see episode 3. Pathetic, b-film style, it seems like an X-files parody.
If this was supposed to be a reborn, please give up. Let us alone with our memories from the old X-files.

The minute I heard it was to be aired, I waited for it with anticipation. To be honest I don't know why! I was never a huge fan of X Files, but there were episodes I found stimulating and above all fun to look at. So there it is, an 8 episode come back. I sat down to watch the first two episodes, and then anticipation turned to boredom, then horror. Eventually I stopped watching. Mostly because the plot was (is I should say) childish and simple to the point of stupidity. Oh yes, the bad government...and like conspiracies arise where none was needed. And then there was the acting! Or the absolute lack of it! I couldn't stand the way Douchovny played the part, it felt as if someone was twisting his arm into the series, not just to sign-in, but all through the episodes themselves. Thank you so much, I think I'll pass

I believe... I don't believe... I want to believe... I used to believe but now I'm not sure
There are aliens... There aren't aliens... There were aliens but they're gone...The aliens were here, then they went, but they'll be back
It's the aliens... It's the government... It's the media... It's the mad scientists
It's about unexplained phenomenon...It's about sci fi...It's about conspiracy...It's about...
What happened to Mulder's sister... What happened to Mulder and Scully's child...What happened to Mulder and Scully
It's a great show... It was a great show

It becomes more of a joke from episode 3 is awful and completely ruined the comeback for the X-files! They should stick to the Thriller/mystery unknown events.. It started of good with the actors being introduced and took of where it was left some years ago. The acting form the characters is good and many of the reference from then until now is great, perfect with many of the old actors still in the series. Conclusion: Don't watch episode 3 and Don't watch episode 4 ( he garbage man) it makes X-files into a comedy.. I do recommend to see the new ones specially "my struggle" is a good episode. And re-watch the old episodes, they are awesome and scary!
Absolutely horrible, just horrible... Episode 1's writing/dialogue is so very bad that the actors couldn't keep from smirking during their lines. It only gets worse from here. From product placement cuts to joel mchale to the writing to the lack of seriousness by dd... It is an incredible insult to the original fans. Just absolutely unwatchable. This is my only review on the site to date, just to express my complete dissatisfaction with this renewal.
Bottom line, it felt as of carter was/is fed up with the xfile legacy and decided to make a 'Community' style parody of the show, primarily to alienate his old fan base and give everyone the flying bird. The writing is so bad it insults the intelligence of the viewer, assuming that viewer took seriously the chance of a real xfile reload as happening. Not even the actors took it seriously, though w how bad the dialog was it is hard to blame them for not taking it seriously. It wasn't even a good parody, not at any point was it funny or amusing. Just insulting.
Clearly this was done not for attempting to make a quality show, but to hit and run a cash pay day. Taints my love for the original series, and movies. This isn't a tribute, it isn't a parody, it is just horrible TV. And insulting to the intelligence of the viewer. Disgusted. Totally unwatchable. Horrible. I have much more descriptive feelings, but IMDb wont let me write those words. Just absolutely horrible... And i blame cc. Though dd didn't do anything but wear a smirk under every line he uttered, so even he didn't take it seriously. GA at least tried, and mchale gets a pass simply because he isn't an actor at all, and is at least intelligent enough to recognize the junk he was scripted to speak. Horrible effort all around, except ga, though what could even she do w the writing? Nothing. It was all very, very bad.
