Sean Gunn may voice Weasel and G.I. Robot in the animated series Creature Commandos, but regarding live-action, DC fans are going to recognize him as the DC Universe's Maxwell Lord. The character was previously played by Pedro Pascal in 2020's Wonder Woman 1984, although Gunn isn't worried about stepping into the role so soon after Pascal.
During an interview with The Kristian Harloff Show (via X), Gunn opened up about how his take on Maxwell Lord would differ drastically from Pascal's version in WW84. "I can tell you that the one obvious thing is it's me playing the role. It doesn't just mean I'm going to give a different interpretation," the actor started. "Your own body is the vessel for what you're doing, so obviously...no one is gonna confuse me and Pedro Pascal's performance. So we're obviously going to do something different."

The following contains spoilers from Invincible Fight Girl Season 1, which debuts Saturday, Nov. 2 at midnight on Adult Swim
Recreational sports are a powerful equalizer and one of the most popular forms of entertainment, yet American animation has struggled to recognize serialized sports series as viable content that can draw in a crowd. On the other hand, Japanese anime championed sports. Theres practically an anime for every recreational activity imaginable, from synchronized diving to ping-pong and even hockey. American animation is behind the curve in this department, but Adult Swims new cartoon, Invincible Fight Girl, is a confident step in the right direction that will hopefully help turn the tide and lead to a wide range of sports-based cartoons.
The series opts for a more grandiose style of sport thats far from grounded, but its celebration of professional wrestling is sure to leave a positive impact on both seasoned sports fans...

Ever since the destruction of Thanos, multiverse movies have become the norm during the 2020s. Whether it is a coincidence or not, non-mcu films have also developed stories that explore alternate dimensions and timelines. This has led to a lot of creativity in changing the heroes we all know and love and exploring different aspects of their personas, or presenting ambitious crossovers.
Of course, not every multiverse movie is equal. The number of superhero movies featuring alternate realities has become oversaturated since Marvel started the Multiverse saga. Regardless, there are still high-quality multiverse superhero movies that were released during and even before Marvel began pushing this concept in many of its films.

My Adventures with Superman and Batman: Caped Crusader add to DC's long and growing list of Superman and Batman animated shows. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman has never starred in her own animated show. She has only received two animated movies and has appeared as a supporting character in ensemble shows or other characters' animated series. With James Gunn's Dcu prioritizing animation, now could be the perfect time for an animated Wonder Woman series.
The DC animated shows My Adventures with Superman and Batman: Caped Crusader present a fresh take on Superman and Batman, yet they also demonstrate a big problem with DC's adaptations. My Adventures with Superman season 2 continues Clark Kent's modernized story in 2024 with the threat of foes such as Amanda Waller, Metallo, and Supergirl herself. Mike Roth's Merry Little Batman brings a kid-friendly and nostalgic addition to the DC animated universe that the whole family can enjoy. The film's animation style pairs perfectly with the story about a boy and his father. The most original aspect is the portrayal of Damian Wayne as an innocent, if overzealous, child, giving a fresh perspective on the character.
Mike Roth’s Merry Little Batman is a kid-friendly addition to the DC animated universe that the whole family can enjoy. The art style is reminiscent of 2010s Cartoon Network and is as hilarious as it is nostalgic, harkening back to Roth’s time on Regular Show. We have pretty much only seen one version of Damian Wayne up to this point, and Merry Little Batman is bold enough to flip the script on the son of Batman. It seems hard to believe, but December is once again just around the corner. Another rollercoaster year comes to a close with the last month of 2023, and as is the case with every month, it's time for streaming services to reshuffle their libraries. As we enter the holiday season, it's time for classic comedies and new favorites; but of course, that also means some things have to go as well. And Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service Max is no exception on that front. The movies leaving Max this December include (but are not limited to) The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015), the Annabelle movies (2014-2017), Blade Runner 2049 (2017), A Christmas Story (1983) and its 2012 sequel A Christmas Story 2, all three Crocodile Dundee movies (1986-2001), the Final Destination franchise (2000-2011), and, most sadly of all, Paddington 2 (2017). Interestingly, the service is also bidding goodbye to a number of DC titles, including the classic 1966 Batman,...

The following contains spoilers for My Adventures with Superman Episodes 1-2, "Adventures of a Normal Man," now streaming on HBO Max.
From a helpful Clark Kent to the best portrayal of Lois Lane yet, My Adventures with Superman is delighting DC fans. The look and style of the series are reminiscent of anime, with fast-paced dialogue equal parts endearing and awkward. This begs the question: why is Warner Bros. Discovery marketing this to adults?
The two-part series premiere of My Adventures with Superman features a fresh take on a common idea. Lois, Clark and Jimmy Olsen go sniffing for scoops, only to end up under attack by high-tech military robots. Yet, for all the cartoon violence, there doesn't seem to be any good reason for this show to be rated "TV-pg" in America. The villains don't even use realistic-looking guns, at least not like they did in Batman: The Animated Series.

While fans are beyond eager for the impending Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire animated series following its groundbreaking first-look teaser, it won't be arriving anytime soon, at least not around 2023. In the interim, fans may binge-watch Netflix's new animated series Skull Island. The trailer makes it clear that this is a spin-off of Kong: Skull Island and that the two projects share visual similarities.
Skull Island, the upcoming Netflix series, is written by Brian Duffled and stars various well-known voice actors such as Nicolas Cantu, Betty Gilpin, and Mae Whitman. The series will be available in both Japanese and English, though Netflix has not revealed any information on the Japanese cast. Skull Island should be worth watching, even if many people are unfamiliar with the previous MonsterVerse films. ‘The Flintstones’ Adult Animated Comedy Sequel Series ‘Bedrock’ From Elizabeth Banks In Works At Fox
Yabba-Dabbo-Doo! Elizabeth Banks’ Flintstones sequel series Bedrock has landed at Fox.
The network is developing the primetime animated adult comedy series with the Charlie Angels and Hunger Games star set to voice Pebbles Flintstone in addition to producing.
Banks has been developing a Flintstones project for a couple of years with Warner Bros. Animation as part of her overall deal with the studio via her Brownstone Productions.
It comes ten years after Seth MacFarlane developed a reboot of The Flintstones at Fox although it did not go forward.
Bedrock will follow the Flintstone family two decades after the original, with Fred on the brink of retirement and 20-something Pebbles embarking on her own career. New Line has put in the order for a Hello Kitty movie. Described as an animated/live-action hybrid, the movie will likely bring an animated version of the popular cartoon cat into the real world, similar to the new Tom and Jerry movie. Plot details are firmly under wraps at this time.
Jennifer Coyle and Leo Matsuda (Inner Workings) have been tapped to direct Hello Kitty. The screenplay comes from Known Universe's Lindsey Beer, who's also attached to co-write an upcoming female-led Fast & Furious spinoff alongside Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
In a statement, New Line president/Chief Creative Officer Richard Brener said the studio was "extremely lucky to have found in Jennifer and Leo, two directors who not only share a profound connection to the unforgettable characters Shintaro Tsuji and Sanrio have created over the past 40+ years with Hello Kitty and her friends, but also have the imagination,...

Netflix always features plenty of international options for viewers across the globe, but March is the first month where it seems as though international releases make up roughly half of Netflix’s originals. And that’s great! China’s The Yin Yang Master and Spain’s Coven of Sisters both look to be intriguing films this month.

Warner Bros. Animation has announced today that a brand new Batman-related animated series is coming to HBO Max. Batwheels is being aimed at the preschool market and follows the Bat-family’s super-powered crime-fighting vehicles as they protect Gotham City, after gaining sentience thanks to the Batcomputer.
Batwheels is currently in development and will air on both Cartoon Network and HBO Max. Led by the Dark Knight’s trusty Batmobile, the vehicular vigilantes – who will have the personality of children due to having no life experience – consist of the Batgirl Cycle, Robin’s Redbird, the Batwing and the Bat Truck. Even though Reign of the Supermen‘s home video release is still a few weeks away, 2019 is already shaping up to be one heck of a year for DC animated movies. After all, not only will it bring us the long awaited Batman: Hush adaptation, but we also have an original tale in the form of Wonder Woman: Bloodlines to anticipate.
Actually, there’s another one in the mix which we should all look forward to, that being Justice League vs. The Fatal Five. I will admit that I skipped Teen Titans Go! since I was far beyond their target audience, I was happy to see a scaled down, entry-level animated series succeed so well on cable. It honored its Marv Wolfman/George Pérez roots and had a nice run. What I never expected was to see it make the leap to the big screen and succeed as well as it did.
Back in the spring, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies was among the least anticipated summer films by theater owners at Movie Con but then arrived to superlative reviews (91% fresh at Rotten Tomatoes) and stronger than anticipated box office with $51.8 million earned worldwide against a $10 million budget.

Though I’ll always remain a Justice League Unlimited guy first and foremost, I’ll admit that I do like seeing DC’s younger heroes getting a chance to shine. Whether it be Young Justice or DC Super Hero Girls, we’ve seen drastically different productions meeting the needs of audiences in recent years, with each filling an important niche.
Actually, I’d be remiss if not mentioning Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!, two series featuring the same cast which happen to be radically dissimilar in tone. Of course, there is some overlap on the Venn diagram when it comes to viewership, but there remain fans of the original series who simply don’t dig the current iteration.

The most popular DC heroes are Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, who are commonly referred to as the "big three" by fans due to their iconic status in pop culture.
Harley Quinn really needs to be added to that group of characters, as her popularity has reached the same levels as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in recent years.
Harley is a merchandise-selling machine and her presence in Suicide Squad helped to elevate her to new levels of mainstream popularity that she had never had before.
The curious thing about Harley Quinn's rise to popularity is the fact that she isn't a hero. Harley is one of the closest associates of the Joker and has been involved in some of his most terrible crimes.
The very basis of the Harley Quinn character is that she is in love with an abusive man, who just happens to be the clown prince of crime.

The battle of the Bumblebees is over.
Hasbro and DC Comics have settled a trademark lawsuit, in which the Transformers toymaker sought to block sales of a Mattel doll based on the DC superhero Bumblebee, a teenage girl with the ability to shrink. Hasbro sued DC and Warner Bros. last year, arguing that consumers might confuse the doll with its own Bumblebee, the yellow Autobot.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. A spokesman for Warner Bros. declined to comment. A spokesperson for Hasbro did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Hasbro had a lot of toy sales riding on the dispute, as Paramount is set to release “Bumblebee” — a Transformers spinoff — on Dec. 21.
The DC Comics character actually predates the Hasbro character, having been introduced in the “Teen Titans” comic series in 1977. DC Comics and Warner Bros. revived the character in 2015, when they launched the DC Super Hero Girls franchise.

It’s that time of year again! Hallmark has just released its full 2018 Keepsake Ornament Collection, and while the horror offerings are definitely on the light side this time around (The Walking Dead being pretty much it for 2018), there are still tons of fantastic sci-fi themed ornaments, as well as a delightful collection of Halloween-themed ornaments and decorations fans are going to want to check out. Also, huge props to Hallmark for showing some love to Firefly this year, as well as my very favorite episode of the classic Scooby-Doo TV series as well.
Other notable properties being celebrated in the 2018 Keepsake Ornament Collection include Star Trek, The Nightmare Before Christmas, (Tons Of) Star Wars, various Marvel and DC characters, as well as the 50th anniversary of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Halloween:
Happy Halloween! Werewolf Halloween Ornament

Warner Bros. has teamed up with Comic-Con again to provide the official collector's bags for Sdcc. They've been doing this for the past nine years and this year there are 18 different bag designs featuring several fan-favorite DC series along with Castle Rock, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Young Justice: Outsiders, Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, and many more. Each bag will come with a unique collector’s pin, with 12 DC character designs for 2018.
I just can't believe Comic-Con is next week! It really snuck up on me. I'm totally excited, but completely unprepared.
You can check out photos of the bags and pins that have been revealed below:
Fans donning their cool carriers at the convention center can also make their way to the Warner Bros. booth on the convention floor (#4545), which boasts interactive elements perfect for photo-ops, including the wings of the fallen angel Lucifer as a nod of...
