Beth Behrs has reflected on the cancellation of 2 Broke Girls following the final renewal of her current CBS show The Neighborhood. Since 2018, Behrs has starred as Gemma Johnson in the CBS sitcom, which follows her and Dave's (Max Greenfield) move into a predominantly Black neighborhood as a white Midwestern family in Los Angeles. The network recently confirmed that The Neighborhood will end after its eighth season. The Neighborhood season 8 is expected to finish off with Behrs and Greenfield alongside Cedric the Entertainer and Tichina Arnold.

In a post Behrs shared on Instagram, she addressed the final season of The Neighborhood, which offered a different kind of closure compared to the abrupt cancellation of 2 Broke Girls. Beth Behrs is reflecting on her time on The Neighborhood and is “grateful” to CBS for picking up the sitcom for one final season to properly say goodbye, unlike with 2 Broke Girls.

Behrs’ post comes after the eye network renewed the sitcom she co-stars in with Max Greenfield, Tichina Arnold, and Cedric the Entertainer for an eighth and final season.

“Most of my 20s were on 2 Broke Girls, almost all of my 30s were on The Neighborhood and I’ll usher in my 40s as we end our story,” Behrs posted on Instagram.

“Kat Dennings and I never got a goodbye or an end to our 2 Broke Girls story, and I’m just so grateful to CBS for a chance to say goodbye to Gemma the right away.”

Dennings replied to Behrs post, saying, “Woooo!!! Go Beth!!!!”

The Television Academy has cemented Sept. 14 as the date for the 2025 Emmys (see the updated calendar), so now is the perfect time to start thinking about who'd make the perfect host. And we've got some ideas.

First and foremost, Emmy hosts have to be fun. Likable. Energetic. Great on their feet. And, apparently, father-son duos are in.

Following last year's successful team-up of Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, we'd love to see the tradition continue on with Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. They tick all of the above boxes and — bonus points — are currently headlining the sitcom Poppa's House on CBS, the same network that's broadcasting this year's Emmy Awards. That gives them an inside advantage, as the host almost always has a working relationship with the home network.

Wayans Sr. is a four-time Emmy nominee for writing and acting on the seminal sketch-comedy series In Living Color, while Wayans Jr.

CBS is preparing to move out of The Neighborhood — but not for a while.

The network has renewed the comedy led by Cedric the Entertainer for an eighth season in 2025-26. That will also be the show’s final season.

“The brilliant cast and creative team at The Neighborhood, led by the incomparable Cedric the Entertainer, have brought levity, laughter and poignant storylines to Monday nights for seven incredible seasons,” CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement. “The Neighborhood is a strong ratings performer for CBS and one of the top comedies on TV. We believe the show’s loyal fans deserve a proper farewell season full of the trademark humor and heartfelt moments that are synonymous with the series.”

The series is CBS’ longest-running current comedy, with 128 episodes to its credit. The Neighborhood draws 6.4 million viewers across all platforms this season (inclusive of five weeks of viewing).

Steve Harvey has revealed how he and fellow comedian Cedric the Entertainer got detained at the border after trying to travel into Canada to gamble at the casinos following a gig in Buffalo, New York. The legendary host recalled the incident, which happened years ago, between tapings of Family Feud and shared a video clip on his Facebook page on Monday (February 3). “Arrested at the Border with my boy Ced, and let me tell you, it was a whole situation!” Harvey captioned the post. Harvey explained that after a night performing comedy at the Arco Arena in Buffalo, he “took cash that night because I’m going to go across the border to the casinos in Canada, and I’m a gamble.” “We in the limo, me and Ced, we go across the thing, [and] border patrol say, ‘who are you guys?'” he continued. “They took us inside, started asking us all these questions.

Chloe Bennet will find romance in the Disney+ holiday comedy Jonas Brothers Christmas Movie (working title), our sister site Variety reports.

“The Neighborhood” is looking to expand its universe with a second potential spinoff series.

A spinoff series centered on Marcel Spears’ Marty and Sheaun McKinney’s Malcolm is in the works at CBS, an individual with knowledge told TheWrap. The show is currently in development for consideration for the 2025-26 broadcast season, though it has not yet received an official greenlight.

The new series would be a planted spinoff in “The Neighborhood’s” upcoming Season 7 finale. The premise would follow Marty and Malcolm Butler as they embark on new adventures, finally leaving their parents’ nest to start the next chapters of their lives, finding themselves the newcomers in a neighborhood that’s both close by yet worlds apart: Venice Beach, per the official logline.

“The Neighborhood” star and EP Cedric the Entertainer is set to executive produce the spinoff series alongside Bill Martin, Mike Schiff, Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Eric C. Rhone.

The Neighborhood universe is eying further expansion with a second spinoff. The upcoming Season 7 finale of the hit CBS comedy series starring Cedric the Entertainer will serve as a planted spinoff headlined by Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney.

The premise of the offshoot echoes that of the mothership in reverse. It follows Marty (Marcel Spears) and Malcolm (Sheaun McKinney) Butler as they embark on new adventures, finally leaving their parents’ nest to start the next chapters of their lives, finding themselves the newcomers in a neighborhood that’s both close by yet worlds apart: Venice Beach.

Three new characters will be introduced in the planted spinoff (Episode 720) as guest stars with options to become series regulars if CBS moves forward with the project for the 2025-26 season.

The Neighborhood kicked off in 2018 as a white Midwestern family, the Johnsons, moved into a predominantly black neighborhood in Pasadena, California, with the Butlers as their neighbors.

Nominations for the 56th NAACP Image Awards were announced Tuesday, with Ayo Edebiri reigning supreme as the year’s most-nominated TV performer.

Edebiri earned four total nominations, three for her work on FX’s The Bear and another for her memorable hosting debut on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

The hit comedy TV show, starring Cedric the Entertainer, will air a brand new episode tonight, titled “Bienvenidos a Nosotros.” Then, the show will take weeks off from new episodes until 2025.

The Motion Picture Television Fund telethon Lights, Camera, Take Action! returns for its third edition Sunday, airing live in Los Angeles on Ktla-Channel 5 from 7-9 p.m. Pt.

Yvette Nicole Brown and Tom Bergeron return to co-host the event, overseeing an evening of stories, songs and celebrity appearances to help raise funds for Hollywood crew workers in need. Also returning this year are producers Phil Rosenthal (Somebody Feed Phil) and writer-critic-producer David Wild.

(Updated with more details) Netflix’s much hyped and much delayed live fight tonight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is taking some hits even before the former heavyweight champion and the YouTuber turned boxer have climbed in the ring.

From nearly the start of the undercard bouts from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the streamer has been freezing, losing sound and proving slow to reload. While not totally crashing as Netflix did when Luke Cage launched on the streamer in October 2016, the audio on the feed cut out over and over and the quality of the image was reduced to smeared pixels repeatedly.

CBS announced additional performers confirmed for the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special. Nelly, Nile Rodgers & Chic, and Sheila E. will help celebrate the AMAs created by Dick Clark back in 1974, joining a star-studded list that includes Mariah Carey and Jennifer Hudson.

Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, Green Day, Brad Paisley, Kane Brown, Raye, and Stray Kids were previously announced to perform on the two-hour special airing on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 5pm Pt/8pm Et. Two-time Ama winner Aj McLean, Cedric The Entertainer, Golden Globe winner Kate Hudson, three-time Ama winner Lance Bass, 15-time Ama winner Reba McEntire, Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson, and four-time Ama nominee Smokey Robinson will put in special appearances.

Developed by Owen Smith, who will serve as showrunner, Crutch centers on Francois “Frank” Crutchfield (Morgan), who goes by “Crutch,” is a brash, yet beloved Harlem shop owner whose world is turned upside down when his highbrow son (Fowler) and free-spirited daughter move back into the family home.

Fowler’s Jake Crutchfield is an Ivy League educated lawyer who forgoes a high-paying position at a swanky, white shoe law firm to provide low-cost legal aid in Harlem.
