It’s been a good time recently to be a Liam Neeson fan with a Netflix subscription; one of his most underrated action movies, Run All Night, recently debuted on the platform and made a quick run to the top 10. However, along with this good news also comes the announcement that two other of Neeson’s movies, Cold Pursuit and Non-Stop, will both leave the streamer on December 31, leaving only Run All Night, A Walk Among the Tombstones, and Made in Italy as the only Liam Neeson movies remaining on Netflix. New streaming homes for Cold Pursuit and Non-Stop have not yet been announced, but both films earned a score of over 62% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, impressive considering reviewers are often harsher on action movies than many feel they should be.

A nine-year-old Liam Neeson movie that received mixed reviews from critics is finding newfound success on Netflix. Run All Night is currently #5 on Netflix's list of Top 10 Movies in the United States.

Neeson starred alongside Joel Kinnaman, Ed Harris and Common in Run All Night, a film about an ex-Irish mob hitman who is forced to kill the son of a mob boss and goes on the run with his own estranged son. Opening theatrically on November 1, 2024, Absolution is the latest action extravaganza starring Liam Neeson as a vengeful one-person wrecking crew. However, those entering the film blind expecting the same tried-and-true Neeson revenge formula will be surprised by the artistic flourishes that separate it from the pack.

What’s a little strange about this November kick-off weekend is that there are not one, not two, but three movies from filmmakers who have directed movies that won Best Picture at the Oscars. And yet, only one of them is getting a wide theatrical release and is bound to report box office.

That movie is “Here,” based on the graphic novel by Richard McGuire. It reunites “Forrest Gump” director Robert Zemeckis with two of his stars, Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, as well as Oscar-winning screenwriter Eric Roth, for a unique family drama that essentially keeps the camera in place to show the events of a specific Philly location over time.

The Oscar nominee spoke to People magazine and teased his retirement from the genre that reignited the back half of his acting career. Neeson’s role in 2008’s “Taken” transformed him into an action icon, and he’s never stopped kicking butt on screen in the 16 years since. Even well into his 70s, Neeson continues to perform his own fight scenes with some help from longtime stunt collaborator Mark Vanselow.

“I’m 72 — it has to stop at some stage,” Neeson told the publication. “You can’t fool audiences. I don’t want Mark to be fighting my fight scenes for me.”

While Neeson has not yet set a specific date for his last action movie role, he did say that it will likely be in 2025, adding: “Maybe the end of next year.

In its second week on the list, “Old Dads” brought in 16.3 million views, taking the movie’s total view count up to 29.6 million in only 10 days. It secured 13.3 million views last week.
