Shudder Acquires Official Fantasia Festival Selection Glorious: "Shudder, AMC Network’s premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, has acquired rights to Rebekah McKendry’s Glorious starring Ryan Kwanten and Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons. The film, an official selection of the Fantasia International Film Festival, will be available exclusively on Shudder in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand on Thursday, August 18.
Said Craig Engler, general manager of Shudder, “With Glorious, Rebekah brings Lovecraftian horror to a place it’s never been seen before: a rest stop men’s room. She and her all-star cast have created an inventive and original cosmic horror that manages to be both darkly hilarious and profoundly personal.”
“For years, I had been searching for a project that would let me show my preferred artistic style - that would let me be absurdist, sardonic, transgressive, and weird. And Glorious gets really f’n weird.

Fri: International returns tonight, and if you're a fan, you're eager to discover what is up with Scott's mother, Angela Cassidy.
We caught up with Elizabeth Mitchell, and she teased as much as she could without getting into spoiler territory.
It's not the first time Elizabeth has worked with Dick Wolf, co-creator of the series.
Working on FBI: International reunites Elizabeth with Wolf, who gave her one of her first roles off the stage when she was first dipping her toes into film and television.
Despite her rather hectic schedule, when Elizabeth got the call about the role, she was eager to work with him again. It was as easy as that.
But who is Angela Cassidy, other than Scott's mother, a spy who disappeared from his life without a word?
The preview for FBI: International Season 1 Episode 12 suggests that Angela could be a traitor. Elizabeth said, "Yes. Everyone seems...

We all knew the "Twilight" renaissance was going to pay off eventually, and if "First Kill" is any indication, we might be in for another vampire media craze. The upcoming Netflix series sounds like a classic teen vampire drama, a la "Vampire Diaries" to cite another essential vampire text, and who could be upset about that? I mean, as someone who was raised in Hot Topic, I couldn't be more pleased, but if you're someone who is sharing "Still a better love story than 'Twilight'" memes in the year of our Lord 2022, you know where the back button is.

Just as Disney Plus, HBO Max and Amazon Prime Video are revving up their fantasy, horror and sci-fi series slates for winter 2021-2022 debuts, Netflix is touting the abundance of genre series headed to the streamer.
Peter Friedlander, Netflix’s head of scripted series for the U.S. and Canada, announced premiere details for a slew of “geeky” shows, as well as returning fan-favorites like “Locke & Key” and “The Umbrella Academy.”
“In my ten years at Netflix, it’s been thrilling to see the dropped jaws, the all-caps tweets/the hilarious memes and the passionate theories inspired by these once-in-a-lifetime moments,” Friedlander wrote in a blog post. “Genre stories have the power to transport us to new universes like the Upside Down in ‘Stranger Things,’ teach us new vocabulary like ‘The Witcher’ and, most importantly, unite us in our shared love of sci-fi, horror, fantasy, anime and everything in between.

Exclusive: We have learned that Bruce Willis and John Travolta are starring together again for the first time in 27 years in the Chuck Russell-directed action pic Paradise City. Production starts this Monday in Maui, Hawaii.
Willis plays renegade bounty hunter, Ryan Swan, who must carve his way through the Hawaiian crime world to wreak vengeance on the kingpin, played by Travolta, who murdered his father. I’m told the project is billed as being similar to Miami Vice but with bounty hunters instead of cops. Thai actress and model Praya Lundberg has landed the lead female role.
Though Paradise City technically reps the fourth time that Willis and Travolta are billed on a movie together, they only worked onscreen in the 1994 Oscar-winning $214M-grossing Quentin Tarantino movie Pulp Fiction respectively as boxer Butch Coolidge and mob guy Vincent Vega. Check out their scene below from that pic. Prior to that...

Most horror movies designed to tell a standalone story almost inevitably end up spawning sequels, prequels or spinoffs if the box office numbers are strong enough to warrant the investment, but based on the central concept, it didn’t appear as though Jaume Collet-Serra’s 2009 hit Orphan would be one of them.
12 year-old Isabelle Fuhrman played Esther, a troubled youngster adopted by a married couple mourning the stillbirth of their third child. Things start off swimmingly as she adapts to her new surroundings, but soon begin taking a turn for the worst after Esther displays some homicidal tendencies that put her new family in grave danger, before a shocking revelation uncovers a sinister secret.
Orphan raked in close to $80 million at the box office on a $20 million budget, and that seemed to be that. However, it was announced last month that follow-up First Kill had already started filming, with Fuhrman back as Esther.

Earlier this year, horror fans were treated to the surprising announcement that a prequel to the 2009 psychological thriller Orphan was in the works. Well, more details have now emerged regarding the prequel, which will be titled Orphan: First Kill, with The Bourne Identity star Julia Styles now joining the cast. Even more excitingly, it has also been confirmed that Isabelle Fuhrman will return to play Esther, the titular orphan who is not exactly what she appears to be.
Orphan: First Kill will follow Fuhrman's Esther, who in the movie is living under the name Leena Klammer, as she "orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena's new life as 'Esther' comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost."
