    Fantastic Series

Josue y La Tierra Prometida are a very well done series that tell the viewer the biblical story of Joshua who lead the Hebrew people into the Promised Land.

The cast is amazing, the main role played by Sidney Sampaio as Joshua is impeccable and biblical story mixed with the fictional story of each of the characters provides clean entertainment for the whole family. For once, you can sit in front of the TV and be entertained while you get a message of hope and faith. Highly recommended. Unfortunately, it is not translated into English as far as i know. Only Portuguese and Spanish.

A good historical novel adapted from a historical novel

There are many things in this novel that turn me off, like the invention of characters - Aruba is not mentioned in the bible. Also, cleanliness - clothes and bodies are generally bleach clean even in the middle of a desert or a battle and clothes are stitched perfectly and never torn or worn even in though they were hand seen and some people were living in caves or the streets. Perfect hair everyday, no sweat, no day-to-day flies, rats and mice. No garbage or animal excrements in the streets. All in a desert where bathing was likely a rare occurance. Additionly, there seems to be a fountain of youth involved - few characters seem to age and for the most part are georgous. Women's liberation - women seem to have a lot of rights, freedom, and voice in matters, and there is a whole lot of doubtful displays of affection. Finally, language - people of all classes and regions use the same vocabulary, tones and style. In all, it was a pretty production but lacking greatly in authenticity and credibility.

    Phenomenal

Absolutely phenomenal. The Promised Land gets more gripping each episode. So many fascinating storylines and characters. As well as being serious, there is some good humour. There are three main kingdoms Joshua faces: Jericho, Ai and then Jerusalem - each of these are intriguing in their own, different ways. There really is never a dull moment. It is pretty accurate in terms of following the book of Joshua however of course some new elements have been added. The costumes and setting are very impressive. Incredible acting by everyone. It is evident so much thought and dedication went into making this series. I highly recommend watching.

    Somewhat entertaining

Although somewhat entertaining, this series doesn't follow the story found in the Biblical book of Joshua. But if you want a good way to pass time, it's okay and at times even uplifting. There's a lot of sex talk so I'm not sure that this is a family series.

    THE BEST VERSION OF HISTORY

I love all actors resemble the real Israelites complexion( not blue eyes/ no clear skin🎯) Pro actors, drama and scenery according to history and geography ... Very inspirational, deep historical research. Joshua ( Sydney Sampson) did a great job, Raahab , Salmon, and All actors. The whole script was written carefully in detail. I have seen this series three times because it inspired me as it were the real "thing". I learned and relearned about the life of these great Biblical personalities. It invites to reflect about the relationship between God and humankind. Best version of all. Blessings. God with you!
