This story follows the generic premise of a guy chasing an already promised girl but the nurse get-up adds an interesting twist. However I think the over commitment to the nurse get-up takes away from the under explored complexity of the situation between the lovers. We don't see enough of a connection between them and rather we see the dynamic between Remo and Kavya instead of SK and Kavya. Either way - it is still light-hearted, emotional and a good entertainer. Siva and Keerthy shine and have good chemistry, and their onscreen prescence makes it a good watch - and the background music through from Anirudh does a good job of emphasising emotion throughout but especially in scenes where the emotion may not be as explicit. 7.1/10.

Remo (2016): We have seen notable films like Chachi 420,Madam etc.. where our lead hero disguises as a lady to solve his problems or love issues.Remo also comes under the same line where Shiva Karthikeyan played a role named Regina Motwani,shortened as Remo,a nurse to woo heroine and to get a chance in a movie.

Plot: Shivakarthikeyan plays SK an aspiring actor, who dreams of becoming a big star one day. He has his two drinking buddies played by Sathish and Rajendran, who also sit around and do nothing.Life is meaningless until Cupid strikes with one glance at the lovely Keerthy Suresh, who plays Kavya, a doctor in the film.Unfortunately for SK, the day he plans to profess his undying love for her turns out to be the day she gets engaged to a well-settled good looking doctor arranged by her parents.She has no clue to even his existence or his one-sided love for her. Though dejected SK decides to get on with his life. A movie audition requires him to dress like a woman and incidentally on this very day he gets to meet Kavya again. SK is dressed up as a female nurse and Kavya very generously offers him a job at the hospital she works in.Thus begins his charade as a pretty woman, who becomes Kavya's friend and confidante.The rest of the film is all about whether he can influence Kavya to fall in love with him.

Plus Points:

1)Music: Anirudh gave chart buster songs to Remo.Especially Senjithaley is my favorite number with awesome music.BGM is also good.

2)Performances: Sivakarthikeyan is a born entertainer understanding the pulse of commercial audience.He is brilliant in his comic timing and dances.His performance as Remo is decent.Surprisingly,Keerth Suresh has given decent performance.Others did their part well.

3)Comedy: Though the movie has silly comedy,its still gives us a smile.Few comedy scenes are hilarious.

Minus Points:

1)Silly Story and Screenplay: Remo has a silly plot with screenplay meanders endlessly to provide some laughs, plenty of sentiments, over-the-top action.Few scenes are illogical and outright silly.

So,Remo is a one time watch with few hilarious scenes and brilliant music but nothing new to offer.

Remo,a film that was released with huge expectations despite the guessable story from the trailer. The audience knew what to expect from it and did not want to be disappointed. On the lines of Kamal Haasan's great,Avvai Shanmugi,comes another gender transformation by young comic actor Sivakarthikeyan. Despite not reaching the level that Kamal set 20 years back,this is definitely the second best when it comes in that genre. Siva completely transformed himself into the female character that whenever he showed up,we could feel a sense of absence of Siva's character which is a huge development from an actor who has not even completed 10 films in his career. Siva has made one of the best decision's of his career acting in this film and it was surprisingly flawless. Hats off to him just because of his undivided dedication shown towards a character in a film. The second person to this film's success is legendary cinematographer, P.C Sreeram. His camera handling techniques have long contributed to Indian cinema's success over the last 30 years till today. P.C Sreeram accepting this film was a shocker to the Tamil cinema industry and subsequently increased the chance of this being a good and high quality film. His cinematography made a medium budget film look really high budgeted and the camera angles during the action sequences were totally mind blowing. The third person who deserves all praises is music director Anirudh. His combination with Siva in previous movies like Maan Karate and Kaaki Sattai was really on par with Siva's style and mannerism and the same applied in this film. The theme music was a peppy dance number and the songs were good. The background score was good although it could have been better in certain places. The dance choreography following the songs were mostly well executed but should have been better in many places because the pace of the song does not match the pace of the dancers on screen. The sound editing of this film was done by Academy Award winner Resul Pookuty and it was absolutely amazing. The minute and distance sounds were caught in the film with near perfection. The voice modulation of the female character of Siva was well executed due to the brilliant sound editing. The art director also deserves full applauds for making the beautiful sets to make this film colorful and beautiful. Despite the huge positives, the drawback in this film is its core itself,the story line. The story of this film is a straight line that will not bend at any cost. Therefore, the story of the film is predictable leaving the audience to guess it quite well. The second drawback is the non linear screenplay of the film which takes out the icing on the cake of the linear story. To top it, the editing was quite sloppy at places which left the movie a bit draggy at the end. The supporting casts in this film did an excellent job contributing to the comical element in this film in a positive manner. Keerthy Suresh has shown her best performance in this film and played a role equal to Siva's character in the film. The supporting comedians who were Satish,Motta Rajendran and Yogi Babu did excellent jobs as their comic timings and dialogue counters were absolutely seamless and made the audience jump out of their seats in laughter. Finally,we have to praise debut director Bakyaraj Kannan for his outstanding dedication in making this type of a film in his very first attempt. Despite having signs of amateurish scenes in certain portions in the film,nothing can take away his effort of delivering a film that would satisfy all sets of audience and make it a success story,hats off.I would conclude that Remo is not the best film for a newcomer,but it is certainly one of the best comedy films that was released in 2016 and will certainly be remembered by many in the film industry for a long time to come,especially Sivakarthikeyan.

I still cant believe that this movie has become successful now. Is it only because the other 2 movies which got released along with this was more worse. Anyways coming to Remo, this movie totally focuses on Siva and Siva alone. The other characters are only sub tracks who deserve nothing. A very old tale with an okay performance from Siva.(mainly because others sucked and he was at least better) Definitely he can do way better than this. But other wise this movie is just a crap. Boring and silly dialogues are written. I guess 2 or 3 scenes in that nurse getup were the only highlights of this movie. The director had just taken many instances from other films and made this. There was not even a single scene in this movie which was new and refreshing to watch. The next question is how come P.C.Sreeram and Resul Pookuty agreed to work in this film. The producer would have surely invested more for their salaries alone I guess. Because this story does not demand any such extreme talents. There is no strong reason why he wears the nurse role. Its a love at first sight, but mostly its stalking which has been glorified. The nurse voice was terrible. Seriously couldn't tolerate it. Instead of Siva himself dubbing for it, i guess some one else should have done it. Because the voice was that awful. No logic in the second half. He switches genders in seconds. He roams wearing expensive shirts but he shown as an uneducated jobless youth (which is again a curse to tamil cinema showing the hero as uneducated) . The fight scenes were only showing heroism which surely hard to accept from Siva. Certain heroes who are legends like Kamal and Surya themselves don't prefer much heroism in their movies and an actor who has just done some 8-9 films have fight scenes with heavy bgm and buildup(the usual buildup of showing the heroine helpless with the villains and out of no where the hero turns up making the baddies fly in air). Please guys we are living in 2016 and we expect some sensible film not some hero worship films. Heavy references of Rajini and the other two. If siva is a Rajini fan, he should propaganda that in his personal interviews and not in all his movies. People are surely sick of it.

Overall- A very average movie which is just being hyped even now with the so called box office collections. This movie is another example that if the box office collections are high, that does not mean the movie will be good . A very bad attempt. Expecting some sensible movie from Siva at least after this.

This movie garnered so much expectations, especially after its first look and trailer got released. This is such a great leap for a young actor like Sivakarthikeyan. First of all, kudos for his efforts. Everything came out well.

He was well supported by camera work of PC sir. Keerthy suresh and sathish did a commendable job in portraying their respective roles.

Cons - Too much casting, not enough sub plots for each character.

Overall, its worth the watch. Just go and enjoy the performance of Siva. He is surely on a roll.

Keerthy suresh oh my God how beautiful she is . Pretty awesome lovely cute my baby Keerthy Suresh. I love her. Her bright eyes cheeks cute smile long blonde ring hair her voice all fill my heart with love. My eyes lighten up when I see keerthy suresh. I am big die hard fan of keerthy suresh. I want to marry her but iam 10 years smaller than keerthy. The most under rated movie.. Dedicated & Matured acting by SK & KS...They both really deserve an award for this movie.. Superb combo & Chemistry between them. Music was extraordinary & electrifying. Anirudh as usual at his best.. Big thanks to the Director for such an out and out Family entertainer.

Remo is an over hyped disaster. looking at how they were talking about before movie release it grew high hopes that it's not going to be the normal masala tamil films produce, But guess what it is a mix of Minnale,Avvaishanmughi an few other films. REMO fails badly on the output and Anirudh music could save a little. Disappointed with the Hyped Film. Siva is not ready for romance yet, its not pleasing to see and does not connect well with the audience. Only thing he could do is comical avatar despite trying on action scenes which his expressions were not well displayed.SIVA Screen presence also could not match P C sir's camera work. In all i can say its jus another timepass which you can miss.

The movie was very bad. Worst movie of Siva Karthikeyan. Songs and BGM also were very bad in the movie. The movie has no logic scenes. The movie was very boring from the beginning to end. The movie was worst.

1st Coming to the Movie it does not have any content & theme its just like that, title story not justified, not even near expectations. 2nd Songs: Horrible songs non were melodious or at-least good. 3rd Comedy: Actually speaking of Comedy there was nothing at all, only that i felt funny watching this movie all the while. 4th Fights: Absolutely nonsense, there's nothing contextual or impressive. 5th OVERALL: (AWFUL) This movie was perhaps taken to show losses. There is lack of Subject or Theme, Songs Flop, Dance Flop, Only fresh faces of Hero & Heroine. Well what else can we expect for a story-less, theme-less, melody-less, direction-less movie. Male transformation into female is not a new concept unless there was a sensible context & theme story which was expected, but it is totally absent/lacking. Was wondering when do i get out of the theater.

REMO Starring SK (As they call him) Shown his full effort being a new avatar .Just don't expect too much of logics it will be so refreshing.Songs and BGMs are Fabulous .Cinematography is main thing for the success of this movie

Remo, is great Rom-Com package with one of the best visually stunning cinematography. The story is all about a young man named Sivakarthikeyan(The actor's name itself), shortly SK, who admires 'Cinema' and tries to become and actor. The Cupid; heavenly creature which puts people to love each other, finds a pair for the hero and , SK falls in love with a girl he sees accross the road.

On the other side, a director needs a Man who can act as a Woman. Coincidentally SK meets the girl in his lady get-up, and finds out that he can get to know about her in this costume. The movie follows from here.

REVIEW Sivakarthikeyan really put all his effort to act as a woman, and since the Make up and the costume never looks odd and always makes the actor look good, the acting just makes it even more lovable! No such scene disappoint us to look at SK in that get-up.

The Cinematography is a feast for our eyes. Music is top notch The story is simply adorable.

THE NEGATIVES A few loopholes, and the film takes a whole half of it to make the plot clear to the Audience.

This is a good entertainer if u are not keeping any big expectations. Don't keep or think of any logic, just watch it and you will love it.A good romantic comedy entertainer. "Remo" is a light-hearted entertainer that banks heavily on Sivakarthikeyan's charisma and comic timing.
