He’s had a few starring roles in movies, as well as minor appearances, and been part of some A-list ensemble casts. He’s also done voice work, appeared on television series like Scrubs and 7th Heaven, and in TV shorts.

Channing Tatum may have made quite a splash with the announcement that he would lead a remake of the iconic 1984 comedy classic, but so far the news has created more of a ripple effect than a tsunami. The news of the remake came hot on the heels of his 2015 dance comedy “Magic Mike Xxl,” which proved audiences can’t get enough of objectifying the dancer-turned-actor. Tatum’s “22 Jump Street” co-star Jillian Bell is also attached to the gender-swapped reboot, and in a visit to the IndieWire Studio presented by Dropbox, she said the project is still chugging along.
“It’s being written currently, so we hope we get to make it within the next couple years,” Bell said, pausing briefly over her words. “I think it’s happening. I’m really excited about it.”

Michael Bay’s “6 Underground” looks to be full steam ahead, with Dave Franco, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Adria Arjona, and Corey Hawkins signing on to join Ryan Reynolds in the big-budget action pic.
Netflix will co-finance and distribute Bay’s next film, marking both the director and Reynolds’s first collaboration with the streaming giant.
Skydance developed the movie and brought on Bay and Reynolds before going to Netflix to partner on the project. It will serve as a co-financier and producer.
The film will also reunite Reynolds with “Deadpool” and “Deadpool 2” scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who wrote the spec for “6 Underground.”
The actioner is based on an original idea from Wernick and Reese, who will also executive produce. Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger will produce “Six Underground” along with Bay and Ian Bryce.

Broad City will end after its fifth season, expected to air in early 2019, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show's creators and stars, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, have also signed a first-look deal with Comedy Central's parent company, Viacom, and are already working on future projects for the companies.

Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson are packing up and moving on from “Broad City.” But first — yaaaassssss, queen, they still have one more season of the critically acclaimed Comedy Central series left. “Broad City” will be back in early 2019 for its fifth and final season, the network announced on Thursday.
But that’s not the end of Glazer’s and Jacobson’s relationship with Comedy Central. The channel has signed a new first-look development deal with both stars, which means they’ll continue to create and develop programming for Comedy Central. The deal actually covers all of Viacom’s networks, which means Glazer and Jacobson could wind up developing and producing for other outlets like MTV and Paramount Network as well.
Under the deal, Glazer and Jacobson will create and develop projects both together and separately for Comedy Central and Viacom. They already have three projects in the works at the channel: “Mall Town USA,...

There’s something vaguely sinister about those talking Gps navigators that now seem to come standard with every new car. Maybe it’s the robotic voice, which could never speak to the frustration of running late or sitting in traffic. More likely, it’s the illusion of control — the false sense that everything is going to be fine so long as you follow instructions and keep your eyes on the road.
Marja-Lewis Ryan’s “6 Balloons” hinges on such modern details of disquiet, with most of this perceptive (if not especially powerful) drama set inside a chatty sedan as a woman named Katie (“Broad City” star Abbi Jacobson) drives her heroin-addict brother (Dave Franco) around Santa Clarita in a desperate search for the help he needs. The Gps is so talkative that it occasionally feels like the car might have more lines than any of the actual characters. It says...

Heroin depictions in cinema can be very harrowing. The premise of Marja-Lewis Ryan’s SXSW feature-length directorial debut “6 Balloons,” a sobering, no-frills indie drama featuring two actors mostly known for their comedy work, is uncompromising and damn-near grim. Premiering today on Netflix “6 Balloons” features a sister (Abbi Jacobson of “Broad City”) desperate to try and help her self-destructive heroin-addicted brother (Dave Franco).

Taking a break from the giddy antics of her delicious Comedy Central series Broad City, Abbi Jacobson goes persuasively dark as the stressed-out sister of a heroin addict (Dave Franco) in 6 Balloons. The actress is the most compelling reason to seek out this affecting, if not particularly surprising or satisfying drama, which premieres April 6 on Netflix following its recent bow at SXSW.

Heroin, even in the abstract, is harrowing. Loved ones as junkies and their slow, painful demise is a nightmarish scenario. Netflix has released the first trailer for a new original movie called 6 Balloons. This looks like a heavy and dark drama about the struggles of drug addiction. The story follows a brother and sister played by Dave Franco and Abbi Jacobson, who are trying to keep their relationship together as the hardships of substance abuse threaten to tear them apart. Here's the synopsis:
Over the course of one night, a woman drives across La with her heroin addict brother in search of a detox center, with his two-year-old daughter in tow.
As you'll see in the trailer, this simple task doesn't turn out to be an easy one. The movie also stars Tim Matheson (Animal House, The West Wing) and Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle, The Big Bang Theory).

In the new Netflix movie 6 Balloons, Abbi Jacobson plays a woman trying to help her brother (played by Dave Franco) combat heroin addiction.
The trailer shows a drugged-out Franco assuring his sister (Jacobson) that he won't use anymore. In a grim overhead shot moments later, Jacobson is caring for his child in a bathroom while Franco shoots up again in an adjacent toilet stall. The trailer comes to a quietly alarming end, as Jacobson whispers one phrase, "it's ok," over and over.
