After a lengthy hiatus, Netflix’s spy series “The Recruit” is back for season 2, and it’s bringing a few new faces with it.
Don’t worry, we’re still with the characters that fans have come to know and love. It’s just that, this season, Owen Hendricks’ (Noah Centineo) antics take us to South Korea, after he was kidnapped at the end of last season. And that means a whole new set of spies (and potentially enemies).
Here’s who you need to know and remember in “The Recruit’s” Season 2 cast.

Owen was recruited to the CIA as a lawyer, and has since found himself in just so many sticky situations. He’s played by Noah Centineo, who shot to fame with “The Fosters” and Netflix’s “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” franchise.

The game starts off in quite a simple fashion. You are asked to “hoover up” some of the virtual space around you by pressing a controller in your left hand, turn it into an object, such as a strawberry, pineapple or skull, with your right hand controller, and shoot it at a matching item in the virtual space. That feels easy enough in stage one, called “excite.” But it gets harder, faster and more intense as you move on to the stages of “stress,” “overwhelm” and eventually impossible when you reach the stage appropriately called “panic.” “Ok, thought experiment over! Some games are impossible to win,” I hear Tilda Swinton‘s voice telling me. “I’d be lying if I said you had a chance there. Some systems are rigged.” And then she asks me how much control I think I really have.

The partnerships are with St Vincent De Paul Society USA, the Peggy Beatrice Foundation, and Wounded Warrior Homes, organizations that battle homelessness in the United States. “A recent Supreme Court ruling has upheld the right of cities to enforce bans on public camping, significantly impacting the unhoused community by potentially increasing the criminalization of homelessness,” said Braham and Branch. “Our partnership underscores the importance of community support and intervention to provide viable alternatives and support structures for those affected. This is why highlighting our partners and extending as much assistance as possible are paramount. Our goal is to deepen understanding of the root causes of homelessness and...

This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine earned its position as a favorite series among fans because of its more complex take on the franchise’s themes, thrusting the United Federation of Planets into a huge war that tested its moral compass time and again. But even at the height of the Dominion War, DS9 also found time to follow Jake and Nog’s search for a baseball card and to check in on a holographic Rat Pack lounge singer.
But even within that wide range of possibilities, the season three episode “Facets” stands out as an oddball. Written by René Echevarria and directed by Cliff Bole, “Facets” introduced the Zhian’tara ritual, through which Trill hosts find closure for their symbiotes by spreading host personalities to others.

Last week, Max finally released the trailer for their much-anticipated The Batman spin-off series, The Penguin, teeing up its fall release date. Overall, it looks highly reminiscent of Matt Reeves’ film, with the cinematography very much in the Grieg Fraser mode. But what else do we know about The Penguin? More than you may think.
The Penguin is set after The Batman.
The plot of The Penguin is set to follow the title character, once again portrayed by Colin Farrell, as he rises through the ranks of the Gotham City criminal underworld. After the events of The Batman and the flooding of Gotham, including the death of Carmine Falcone, Cobblepot desperately wants to fill the power vacuum. Colin Farrell has also indicated that the film will serve as an origin story for the Penguin, something we have seen twice on screen before in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, played by Danny DeVito.

Only three years before he was trapped in Arizona by a kingdom of tarantulas and a mere five years before he played James T. Kirk in Star Trek‘s first motion picture, William Shatner starred in the low budget thriller Impulse. And thanks to the team at Grindhouse Releasing, the world can finally witness another Shatner joint in all its restored 4k glory.
So does good ole’ Bill play the hero in this one? Uh no, not in the least. We get full on evil demented Shatner in the flesh. He portrays Matt Stone (not to be confused with the talented South Park creator), who is just your typical thumb-sucking, mini cigar chain-smoking, conniving, scheming faux financial investor. His prey are vulnerable and lonely women, who he exploits for their money with delusional promises of fortune, love and monogamous commitment. He’s a sociopath, a psychopath…all kinds of ‘paths.

Smallville's Justice League brought together powerful heroes from the DC Universe, each with their unique skills and abilities. From the acrobatic Black Canary to the resourceful Green Arrow and the super-fast Impulse, the team's members brought their specific talents to the table. However, it was Superman who ultimately became the strongest Justice League member, mastering all of his signature powers and facing powerful villains in epic battles.
Smallville's Justice League featured some big names, but despite all of the team's heroes having an interesting skill set, some were more powerful than others. While Smallville focused on the journey of Tom Welling's Clark Kent from a high school student to Superman, with the character only suiting up in the series finale, later seasons of the series introduced several heroes from the DC Universe. As 2023 marks the end of the Dceu, a new DC Universe is on its way from Gunn and Peter Safran. DC Studios are already developing several movies and TV shows, with new iterations of DC heroes coming to life in live-action.
One DC superhero fans are hoping to see in Gunn's DC Universe is Oliver Queen, a.k.a. the Green Arrow, who was recently played by Stephen Amell in the Arrowverse. Fans have been campaigning for Gallner, who appeared in episodes of Smallville as the DC speedster, Impulse, to take up the role, and the actor himself is more than game for the job. Bob Lee Swagger remains one of the most badass television characters ever.
The USA Network series, Shooter, was one of the finest, coming at a time when the cable network ran supreme with endless content for everyone's viewing.
With slick action sequences, subterfuge, and adrenaline-pumping thrills, the series, more often than not, was a must-see summer show for three seasons until its unfortunate cancellation.
TV Fanatic followed along with the journey from beginning to end with full coverage in our Shooter Reviews. It is still a perfectly binge-able series that you can stream on Netflix, at least until June 21, when Netflix loses the rights for it.
It bolstered an impressive cast led by none other than Ryan Phillippe. But where is the cast now? Let's find out!
Jaina Lee Ortiz - Angela Tio
Ortiz had a small arc during Shooter Season 2, guest-starring as Angela Tio, a sergeant Bob Lee served with during the Marines.

Warning: The following contains Spoilers for The Flash series finale. The finale of The Flash season 9 paid tribute to a legendary figure at DC Comics, whose work had an influence on the Arrowverse. The tribute took the form of a throwaway line, which broke with the traditional exclamations of Chester P. Runk. The Star Labs scientist and Team Flash ally had a habit of evoking the names of his scientific idols in moments of stress.
The running gag was changed in The Flash series finale when Chester was informed that he had developed black hole powers, like his counterpart Chester from The Flash comics. This caused the excited Chester to proclaim, "Oh, dazzling Dwayne McDuffie!" The name Dwayne McDuffie is highly regarded among comic book readers, animation aficionados, and creators of comics and cartoons.

Have you ever heard of quicksand? It's a funny word to say, but the actual thing can be pretty traumatizing if you like to be around streams or beaches. Quicksand is created when sand behaves as a liquid because water saturates and agitates the loose particles. The viscosity can change depending on stress or vibration. The most important thing to know about quicksand is that you can sink into it. It’s rather tricky to escape from and can be very dangerous. Who would have thought that there would be a horror movie about it?
The horror streaming service Shudder has acquired the rights to Colombian survival thriller Quicksand. This film will stream in the U.S., UK, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia. Matt Pitts wrote this English-language Colombian film while Andrés Beltrán directed it. Pitts has been a producer/co-executive producer for television series such as Revolution and Impulse.

Ten seconds is a long time when the clock you’re setting is ticking down to the end of the world. In January, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists announced that the Doomsday Clock – a symbol for how soon humanity can expect to meet its end as a result of our own unchecked advances – had ticked forward 10 seconds. We’re now only 90 seconds to midnight; the closest the minute hand has ever come to its final destination since the clock was unveiled in 1947.
It was news that arrived with stony faces and straight shoulders. While for some, the doomsday concept is dated by its associations with Cold War hysteria, the events apparently nudging humanity closer to its end – climate crisis, Covid, war in Ukraine – are anything but antiquated. And for those with an eye on preservation, the announcement has only served to steel their efforts.

Matt Reeves may be planning his Batman film saga as a trilogy, but that doesn't mean we'll only be seeing his take on Gotham City inside those films. Spin-off films and TV series are in the works, which will highlight all the villains who make up Batman's rogues gallery; the Scarecrow, Clayface, and Professor Pyg have been mentioned as potential stars.
The spin-off furthest along in production stars Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin. Farrell had a supporting role in "The Batman," with Penguin (or "Oz" as he prefers) being the right-hand of crime lord Carmine Falcone (John Turturro). With his boss out of the picture, Oz is looking to become Gotham's new kingpin. The Penguin's club, the Iceberg Lounge, was also featured as a recurring setting in "The Batman," albeit reimagined from a high-class crib into an underground rave spot.

Last year, Karina Longworth’s hit Hollywood podcast You Must Remember This looked at the Erotic ‘80s. Longworth is now delving into the same topic of sex in film and TV across the 1990s for the next season.
The show, which is presented in partnership with Audacy’s Cadence13, returns on March 28 with its 21-episode season.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Hollywood movies explored the sexual lives, mores and fantasies of adults with degrees of candor, realism and imagination not seen before or since. While Erotic 80s episodes covered the theme one year at a time, the super-sized Erotic 90s breaks down themes from Lolitas and sex symbols to gender politics and more.
The first episode covers the disastrous rollout of Nc-17 and the evolving state of both porn and feminism at the dawn of the ’90s, with topics including David Lynch, Harvey Weinstein, “pro-porn” feminism, “the new morality,” video stores,...

YouTube Global Head of Original Content Susanne Daniels has resigned after over six years, during which she built the original content division of the company. YouTube Originals is coming off Q4 2021 as its most-watched quarter ever with 1.3 billion views.
Daniels, a respected veteran TV executive, joined YouTube Originals in 2015 when the video-sharing giant had announced the launch of a premium subscription tier with high-end original scripted programming. She developed and launched such series as Cobra Kai, which set YouTube viewership records before moving to Netflix and earning Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, Step-Up (now on Starz), On Becoming A God In Central Florida (moved to Showtime) Wayne (available on Prime Video) and Impulse from Doug Liman.
In 2018, the Google-owned streamer pivoted away from scripted and SVOD to focus to their core unscripted content under the existing AVOD model. Daniels, who had started her career in unscripted at NBC decades ago,...

Exclusive: Mia Kaplan (Smilf), Rainn Wilson (Jerry and Marge Go Large), Missi Pyle (Y: The Last Man), newcomer Jemima Yevu and Jolene Purdy (The White Lotus) have signed on to star in Empire Waist, a body-positive, coming-of-age dramedy from writer-director Claire Ayoub and Wayfarer Studios, which is currently in production in New York.
Ayoub’s first feature centers on a group of teens who overcome societal bias and celebrate self-acceptance through inclusive fashion design and friendship. Kaplan plays the lead role of Lenore, a teen deeply insecure about her weight. Hiding her passion for fashion design, Lenore tries to make herself invisible in her day-to-day life to avoid being bullied — both by her classmates and image-conscious mother (Pyle). Meanwhile her best friend Kayla (Yevu) is confident, funny, outgoing, and proud of her plus-sized body.
Wilson will play Lenore’s father, Mark, who is his daughter’s biggest cheerleader, with Purdy as Ms.

HBO Max is developing a series about The Penguin that will be a spinoff of “The Batman” feature, Variety has learned from sources.
Colin Farrell is set to play the notorious supervillain in “The Batman.” According to sources, Farrell has been approached to star in the spinoff series but no deal is currently in place. Sources also say that Lauren LeFranc is attached to write the script for the project, which is in its very early stages.
The show would supposedly delve into The Penguin’s rise to power in the Gotham criminal underworld. “The Batman” director Matt Reeves and the film’s producer Dylan Clark would executive produce the Penguin series under their 6th & Idaho and Dylan Clark Productions banners respectively. Warner Bros. Television would produce.
Reps for HBO Max declined to comment.
