Teogonia , an upcoming TV anime based on the isekai fantasy light novel series, has revealed a new trailer featuring the official opening theme song for the series. Emi Noda performs the opening theme song, which is entitled “Shodo” (“Impulse”). The series will broadcast in Japan beginning on April 11, 2025, and it will also stream on Crunchyroll as part of the spring 2025 anime simulcast season . Peter Jason, a character actor known for his roles in “Deadwood,” “48 Hrs.” and “Prince of Darkness,” along with his many television appearances, died Thursday in his West Hollywood home. He was 80.

Jason’s death was confirmed by a rep from Tribesmen Pictures, with the cause of death being cancer. On X, “Halloween” director John Carpenter shared a tribute to the actor, writing that “he was a dear friend and I’ll miss him terribly.”

Matthew Asner, son of the late Edward Asner, also shared a tribute.

Exclusive: Veteran television executive and producer Kate Fenske, who has held high-level positions at Sister, Entertainment 360 and UCP, is launching Hound, an independent film and TV production company.

Hound, whose logo is based on Fenske’s own dog, already has built an initial development slate with projects set up at multiple streaming platforms and studios in the US. Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson’s Color Force, the studio behind FX’s “Pose,” “American Crime Story” and the upcoming “Say Nothing,” has renewed its producing deal with the network through 2027, which will mark 15 years of partnership.

The production company teamed up with FX back in 2012 when they struck a first-look deal following the success of “American Crime Story: The People V Oj Simpson.”

The partnership has gone on garner 26 Emmy wins and 66 nominations. Jacobson and Simpson have won two Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, three TCA Awards, three Critics Choice Awards, two PGA Awards, three AFI Awards, two GLAAD Awards, as well as a BAFTA Award, an NAACP Award and a Peabody.

The company has hired Checka Propper in the role. Propper joins from David E. Kelley Productions, where she was EVP, All Media.

This comes as the company has renewed its overall deal with FX for a further three. Year. The deal, which will run through 2027, will see Color Force stay in business with the Disney-owned network for 15 years.

At David E. Kelley Productions, Propper helped bring in Margo’s Got Money Troubles, which received a straight-to-series order from Apple. Before that, she was VP, Television at Doug Liman’s Hypnotic and began her career at Fox and MTV. Her credits including Peacock’s The Calling and YouTube’s Impulse.

U.K. and Ireland cinema chain Odeon has reported that “Deadpool & Wolverine” has become its biggest box-office release since last year’s “Barbenheimer” phenomenon. The opening weekend drew approximately 500,000 viewers to Odeon cinemas, on its way to becoming the year’s highest opener in the territory.

Odeon has introduced a new family ticket offer for 2024, expanding its “adults pay kids prices” deal. The offer provides tickets for one adult and one child starting at £10 ($12.85) for standard Odeon Cinemas and £15 ($19.25) for Odeon Luxe locations. Singapore and India-based Mumba Devi Motion Pictures is screening two films at Berlin’s European Film Market (EFM) and has unveiled a slate of future titles.

The company, headed by producer Sweta Chhabria and producer-director Aditya Kripalani, makes issue-based films focusing on stories that are mostly to do with gender and burning topics like suicide prevention and mental health. The outfit makes it a point to minimize the male gaze by bringing on board heads of department who are all women.

Kripalani and Chhabria’s just-completed Singapore-set film “Grand Sugar Daddy,” which has its market premiere at EFM on Feb. 18, follows a 70-year-old widower who is introduced to the world of Sugar Daddies and Sugar Babies. The world premiere of Halloween Ends will close out the 2022 edition of Beyond Fest, the Los Angeles-based genre film festival that is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

U.K. broadcaster ITV has commissioned “Six Four,” a four-part crime thriller inspired by the bestselling novel by Hideo Yokoyama.

Set primarily in Glasgow, the drama follows the O’Neills, police detective Chris and his wife, former undercover officer Michelle, whose teenage daughter goes missing. Chris is finds out that fatal mistakes were covered-up in the disappearance of another local girl and revisiting the case, he uncovers a series of errors, corruption and unbridled ambition. Michelle takes matters into her own hands using her skills. Meanwhile, the daughter of the justice minister is suddenly kidnapped, just as the minister is on the cusp of achieving an election victory.

Colin Farrell is set to play the notorious supervillain in “The Batman.” According to sources, Farrell has been approached to star in the spinoff series but no deal is currently in place. Sources also say that Lauren LeFranc is attached to write the script for the project, which is in its very early stages.

The show would supposedly delve into The Penguin’s rise to power in the Gotham criminal underworld. “The Batman” director Matt Reeves and the film’s producer Dylan Clark would executive produce the Penguin series under their 6th & Idaho and Dylan Clark Productions banners respectively. Warner Bros. Television would produce.
